  1. So it actually catches? i was so skeptical because it seemed like it took what little action a TRD had away for the sake of weedless so ive been on the hunt for the best EWG ned head and finally decided on lifted jigs the other day. But they wont be in for a week so I may rig up a tiny child until then.
  2. From reading the past few pages sounds like getting the gift card is a pain in the butt. Im using a Visa gift card I got for my birthday so its not money out of my pocket, but could get a extra lure or two with 10% off.
  3. Anyone know of a Tackle Warehouse code for a discount on tackle?
  4. Largemouth: Berkley Choppo 90 in matte black at night. Most exciting catch too! 3.8lbs Smallmouth: Dont remember brand but red craw squarebill. 2.9lbs Walleye: Cotton Cordell Super Spot in chrome blue back. 4.8lbs Catfish: wild cat blood dough bait. 15lbs Crappie: Green Pumpkin Rage Craw. 2.2lbs
  5. I'm about to order some Boys Duckett hollowbodies off TW. They are on sale for $3 and plan on using them on 1/8oz jig heads on the A-Rig I just got today. My thinking is they will be lighter than full plastic ones, that's the only reason I'm picking them up.
  6. Wow how much did you pick them up for?
  7. As far as big bite baits goes! Haha. There is plenty I want from other companies!!
  8. Yeah that's what i was thinking but there isnt anything I really want. Could get a pack in flamethrower and one in GP Flamethrower but still not worth the shipping costs
  9. Ive looked everywhere online and cant find them in Flamethrower or green pumpkin flamethrower. I could order direct from them but i dont want to pay shipping on a $4 bag of soft plastics and end up paying $8 for the bag. Does anyone know where they have some in stock? Same with the new Zman TTLures EWG ned heads. Cant find them in stock anywhere!
  10. I didnt know we had a dedicated kayak shop. I'll go on their web page and check them out.
  11. I am in no rush so gathering info. I like the idea of demoing them. BPS is a mile away, have two Academy's real close and three DSG close, so I have options as far as stores go. I just saw the $200-$250 ones and it peeked my interest but i agree for my size and all day comfort I'll need bigger and better. I wont settle just to get one. I am considering selling my jon boat and that would fund a much better yak. Oklahoma does suck for the wind so stability is forefront to me. I will most definitely invest in a good pfd and wear it when on the water.
  12. Ok so either hop and pop or steady retrieve as long as it stays in contact with the bottom. Had anyone tried the Gene Kate's Hard Heads or whatever they call them? Rock bangers maybe? I know them when i see them just dont remember the name. They are local to me so while a big company, I still consider it supporting local business!
  13. Thought the same. My mom had some haha.
  14. Replying to follow. Have my first A Rig coming this week and curious as well. I have 1/8oz SK Squadron jig heads already that I'm going to use, but want a small setup that i can put on it for ponds. I even contemplated Bobby Garland Swimmin Baby Shads. Then i would use 1/16oz crappie jigs. But for small keitechs im interested to see what people use
  15. Ive never used one either. How would one retrieve it?
  16. I had a 3" 3/8oz Matsoguoro that I used with fluoro for keeping it down and really like it. Caught a bass, few casts later backlashed, picked it out and didn't notice the kink in the line, cast it about 50 yards into the water and shed a tear. Stupid windy days. But i really liked it and i want to get another. Saw some knock offs on Amazon for 1/4 of the price but question the quality. So I'll go back with an original next time I go to BPS. AGREED! I lost the only one I had and that's what has kept me from running out and picking up another. It worked and I liked it, I just have to be in a certain mood to drop $6.50 on a small little single swimbait.
  17. I have ZERO knowledge or experience with kayaks besides renting one on a float trip one time. Looked at academy at the $250 ones and they seem nice, but no clue if they are. The Pelican Argo and I dont remember the other. I'm 5'11 and 230lbs so I know that will play a part in choosing. Bone stock I imagine they need rod holders but what does everyone else add? I know the more I spend the more I get amd the better quality. I'm just dipping my toe in the water for the first time and in no rush. One caveat, I'm a combo junkie and rarely bank fish with less than four combos and a tackle backpack. I'm guessing ill have to carry less on a smaller kayak.
  18. Molix makes a three arm, three blade Ike series spinnerbait ive eyeballed a time or two. Never used one though.
  19. Im a fan of Ike and I trust his judgement, because he made millions bass fishing. I have some soft plastics in either his color or ones he helped design and they have worked. I dont think he or KVD would attach their name to junk. I wont buy something just because it has their name on it over the exact same thing without it though. But like Berkley Flute Worms are all Ike designed and I like them. I like his morning Dawn color too, but ive never bought any hard baits he helped design because I'm a sexy shad or red craw lure guy. I use some Ike VMC hooks and what not too. But the only rod and reel I would get a sig model of is, well easy to guess, Ike. Fan boy and I love the paint jobs on them and the variety of rod action and power you can get them in. But at $250 for the reel, I'm plenty satisfied with my Speed Spool LFS, and not a KVD one!
  20. I use this for catfish. Once I got tired of spending money on sinker slides I started using a snap swivel and put the line through the line tie loop and hook a sinker on the snap.
  21. I do it alot. With the mentioned BG baby shad or a gulp minnow. When its tough and some chop to move the bobber on its own I like it and it works. I'll either nose hook a gulp minnow on a small #4 hook or a 1/16 oz jig head.
  22. For skinny body but flappy I use Rage Craws. For big body, which is also ribbed I use a Z Craw Jr. For big body but not as flappy a Pit Boss.
  23. If I throw one in colder water I'll go with a Rage Menace. Been looking at the Bio Spawn Vile Bug. Similar to a menace but shaped different in the tail. A fluke is a good idea too i think
  24. Something everyone says is a key bait this time of year...... A suspending jerk bait. Spook Wacky rig, but just started throwing it two trips ago. Then a bunch of lures ive never thrown so obviously cant catch something if you dont throw it
  25. The whites and silvers really stand out for sure. That gives me and idea of a stick bait color to try!
