  1. Turtles are notoriously humorless.
  2. IME Lew's 20/200 size reels are comparable to Daiwa 2500 size reels (in terms of line test/capacity). Can't tell you more without specifics.
  3. A drift sock might also help.
  4. I've not used that specific line, but I've used lots of Sufix 832. Anything else you can remember about the break-off incidents that you didn't mention in your OP?
  5. I used to do okay with them, but it's been a good while since I found myself on a topwater bite, much less one with a taste for plopping baits.
  6. Every catch, every time I retrieve it from a snag, I do the thumbnail test. I even use the same tool as @scaleface to touch up the hook if it needs it. I don't spend a lot of time sharpening hooks, because it takes almost no time to sharpen a hook. And I feel like "sharpening" is overselling the act anyway – all I've ever really had to do was true the hook point up a little bit.
  7. That one at the top is beautiful.
  8. Ohhh. I like that one.
  9. What is your casting stroke like when that happens?
  10. That's true. I had a medium-heavy from them that was rated at 1/4-1. Fantastic rod, but I don't think I'd have thrown a 1oz lure on it. That's not a knock at all -- most of the rods I own are Lew's.
  11. Fwiw, that's pretty much exactly my definition. I give @TnRiver46 a hard time about fishing a Ned rig, because any small plastic on a light jighead counts as a Ned rig for me. Makes packing easier.
  12. For sure. And they may still be in a mood over the combination of pressure and the herbicide. Fish don't like change (that isn't of their own volition) anymore than anybody else does.
  13. Good job grinding that bass out of a spot like that, though.
  14. I know exactly what you're talking about. My little brother and I were latchkey kids growing up, so we were basically feral animals that lived on those little pizzas. I still love them.
  15. Yeah, that's like a nuclear bomb for aquatic flora.
  16. You did a good job on your nails.
  17. Tradition is just peer pressure from dead people.
  18. Well, good luck with that.
  19. Yessir. Unless you serve me a piece of charcoal with mayo poured all over it, I'll probably still give your burger two thumbs up. But I'm not a mayo fan.
  20. Much like another thing that I'll probably get in trouble for mentioning, the worst pizza I've ever had was still pretty good.
