  1. Do any of you throw orange/fire craw color Chatterbaits in the fall here in MA? I know they work well in early spring, but was wondering about fall. Thanks!
  2. How's everyone been doing with LMB now that fall has firmly taken over? Are you finding them shallow, or still deeper? For me the quality has been good, but my numbers are way down. In the past few weeks I have a 5-9, 5-5 and a few solid 4's. However, I went from catching 10-12 bass on average to only getting a handful of bites in my normal 3-4 hour bank beating session. I just cant find any spots with more than a fish or two. They seem very scattered out. And I can't put together a patter either. Hoping it picks up in the next week or so.
  3. Congrats on the new PB. Yesterday's big change in the weather had them chewing hard. I smashed them as well. Best 5 went 18.14lbs. I was on the bank and only fished for about 3 hours. Bassman Spinnerbait (chart/white) and Bobby's Perfect Frog did most of the damage.
  4. Probably around $100-150 a month. That's just for "tackle" like conventional baits, soft plastics, terminal tackle, etc. I buy reels and rods occasionally as well. Not that bad considering I bank fish and my spots are all within a 15-20 minute drive. So, the act of "fishing" really only costs me a few dollars in gas for the car. None of that includes my latest habit, which is fishing big expensive swimbaits. I have spent several thousand on baits in the past few months alone. I suspect that will slow down a lot though (once I come to realize a Senko works just as well).
  5. Good feedback Mass, thanks! I just picked up a few bags of Zoom Ole Monsters this week and plan on throwing them this weekend. I'm catching a lot of 2-4lb bass over the past several weeks. Hoping a big worm will lead to some larger fish.
  6. Thanks, Sputter. I will give those a shot.
  7. Great fish Sputter! Would you mind sharing what type of worms you are using? Brand, style, color, etc. I really need to start fishing t-rigged worms more this summer. Thanks!
  8. Sammy 115 is my favorite. Walks easy and casts a freakin' mile. Brown and Green bass love it. I fish clear water and LC has the best ghost/translucent paint jobs on natural color spooks. Any decent spook will catch fish though. Just pick the one you like and fish it.
  9. Sounds like a great night. Nice fish! Are you fishing from the bank or in a boat?
  10. Great job Mike! That's a tank.
  11. No Pizz at this show. He’s the hottest name in Swimbaits and drove much of the craziness at the show a few months ago. Don’t get me wrong. You will still need to get there early to grab a Psycho, but nobody is sleeping out in tents tonight or getting there at 3am….
  12. I was considering it, but doubt I will give up fishing to go. Will be at the Chu looking to break the state record Smallie...
  13. Nice work! Yeah, Vision 110 hooks are very light wire and will bend out. The bait was actually designed by Megabass to be fished on a spinning rod with 6-8lb line, so the hooks match the bait perfectly.
  14. Hell yeah bud! That’s a beast! Congrats.
  15. With small glides like the ones you mentioned I would go no heavier than 15lb. Those are small glide baits and you are going to start to loose the action with anything over 15lb. I'd probably use 12-14lb unless you are fishing around heavy cover. Can't go wrong with Tatsu...
  16. I saw the pick on IG. That was a beautiful bass. Very healthy.
  17. Good video. Thx for sharing!
  18. Finesse swim jig = Brovarney Baits. Killer swim jig. Reasonably priced and great customer service. Also, I fish a chatterbait in very clear water and absolutely smoke the bass. I just avoid the flashy silver and/or gold blades. Go with a green pumpkin or black blade in clear water...
  19. If you look around you can find a 2021 Antares DC on JDM sites for $550. I own all those reels besides the Scorpion and the 21 Antares puts them to shame. Not even in the same league.
  20. No. I'm stuck on the bank (well I use waders). The very southern part of the lake is still frozen over. I fished again for a few hours this afternoon. Skunked. One bass boat out. He got skunked as well. Think I need to go buy a small jonboat with 10HP or Kayak to fish this place.
  21. On the board for 2022! Got 3 slime darts at Whitehall today. Only fished for about 45 minutes. Not the target species but it was nice to feel a tug. All on the Vision 110 in perch.
  22. Do you guys throw bright red/orange baits in early spring here in New England? Like lipless, squarebills, chatterbaits (firecraw), etc? Just wondering what others opinions are on red in early spring. On a side note, I fished Hopinton and Whitehall again for a few hours this morning. Skunked again. 0 for 2 on the season. Was very surprised to see a boat out on Whitehall with half the lake still iced over.
  23. I've got about a dozen Dark Sleepers and have never caught a d**n thing on one. I fish a deep clear water reservoir loaded with big Smallies too, so you'd think they would work. Just one bait I cant figure out... Awesome colors on those baits. Will have to give it a try this season.
  24. Wow no respect from the dog. Didn't even bother to stand up to get a good luck.
  25. I found some open water at Hopkinton and Whitehall Reservoirs this afternoon. Sadly, no fish found my baits. Mostly fished the big stuff and a Hudd. Nice to get out for the first time this year though.
