  1. Only 1 rod and just a few lures for me. Never saw anyone attempt multiple rods or even a carry handle tackle box when wading.
  2. You ever watch the lil terriers on YouTube they use as ratters around poultry farms? Catch couple hundred in a day? They're putting you outta bizzness! You gonna have get mad dog mean like those lil guys. You've probably watched them but if not you're in for a treat. A rat snare? If you make a catch I'd love see pic in snare.
  3. Yes! Cut it loose like its a bad habit! You haven't even began to enjoy fishing til you take up artificials and fool the fish one on one. I believe using artificial can equal and sometimes even exceed live or cut bait. This evening was fishing with my 13 year old nephew that's just beginning to fish. We were only wanting to catch some bluegill and using soft plastic minnow, grub and worm we caught around 30 gills, crappie, 3 catfish and a bullfrog ?. You can catch everything that swims! You only have to worry about 1 thing... Do you know about the bait monkey? ? And all you need in your creek to catch tons of smallies and red eyes is a AC Shiner 250 in sunfish color, made and sold in Ohio.
  4. Heddon called their version of the devil horse the dying quiver. When you throw that prop lure make it become a minnow or gill giving its dying quiver, we've all seen minnows and fish doing their dying kicks floating around on the surface. And a vid on YouTube suggested using a couple bobber stops in front of your front prop to keep the line outta the prop. And if you don't regularly catch fish on a prop bait, use one that is 2" to 2.5"... You'll catch numbers though lots of small bass
  5. Could be a pic of a single split shot added to collection?
  6. @Bluebasser86 that Berkley Spin Bomb looks great and comes in great colors but I think it says it is plastic propped too. Have you had any time spent with one of them yet? @Steelhead the Bang-o comes in a orange belly/gold side/black back model that's right up your alley!
  7. Read up on the Brians Bee prop bait and the ones that followed Black Label tease or the one Phil Hunt whittles out or the plastic Lucky Craft Kelly Jordan lure. Catches the living breathing feces out of them
  8. Just ordered 4 Black Label Balsa prop baits, a Black label Balsa Ricochet jr and a Phil Hunt Balsa prop bait. The bait monkey while putting his cigarette out in the ashtray did his best Denzel impression and said "my man". If monkey happy then I'm happy!
  9. @plawren53202 yes looked to be a hundred or more in sexy Shad and if there was any other color it was very similar.
  10. Yes I have lots that I bought with never an intention of catching fish with them.
  11. Still a nice collection of lures! What is your favorite or neatest lure you have? Mine would be a Heddon Pumpkinseed, if I dated it right it was available during '59-'63 and I found it mixed in lures at a yard sale and priced $10
  12. I was in Cabelas yesterday and noticed the Booyah squarebills are $2.99
  13. That's wild, Mike! What are the odds of that lol How much does he have you beat by detroit1? When I first saw that vid of Eric I figured he had bought a tackle shop property and just kept the tackle but as it turns out I think his collection is just a fisherman grabbing lures weekly the same as us. He says it is 40-45 years of lure buying.
  14. Please post pics of your collection and the addictions/additions
  15. Eric is the greatest. It amazes me all the info he retains and is able to spit out at a moments notice. Nevermind his uncle, he is the great Galasso!
  16. I'd like to see a fishermen episodes of hoarders.
  17. Update: crisis averted... I had a Plano 777 box and didn't realize the top of the box opened. Found my missing box and a few other finds lol being a fisherman is hard ?
  18. Trick question cause I know everybody has. I am about to lose my cool over a double sided 8x6" box with a couple hundred dollars of lures in. I have been to numerous places in several different vehicles. In yaks boats and bank fishing lakes and numerous ponds and creeks this year and no idea what I've done with it. I have spent 2 hours, an hour spent looking on 2 different days and I assumed they'd turn up but no. Let's hear your story of lost and found or the more fun version which is you find something you had no idea you had even bought.
  19. Great site, great people, bad on the billfold!
  20. Happy b-day old man! The monkey says wear ur old clothes and spend your money only on important things- things that attach to fishing line!
  21. Well hmm, a new toy... I just saw this on lurenet. Sold out. A plastic version of the lure from 118 years ago. Wonder what it does? I've never saw any of the Heddon lures with collars in action. Feisty looking lil rascal!!
  22. 6 more AC Shiners ordered tonight. That's 18 ordered in last couple weeks, might just call ol A C up and tell him send me a couple of everything. I ordered 4 double prop 2" 1/4oz models. Should be great for the "fun" size bass I catch. Ordered a 250 in black n blue and a 450 in Sunfish to add to the heap.
  23. I must be the last of the true 1 pound and under bass masters!
