Fantasy Fishing 2025
I went with all the older guys who actually fished a bassmaster event on Pasquatank before. Gman, Menendez, etc. etc. Probably lose my hind parts but I got nothing.

Dogwood Tree Watch
I got 3 dogwood trees in my yards. They are still bare. Blooms are there but not open yet.

K9 Fluorocarbon
The K9 flouro I used is 100% flouro. I use mostly K9. spent a good bit talking to the owner of the company last fishing show I went to. I haven't had any problems with it. It's not sunline sniper but it's pretty decent. They're braid is really good.

Lithiums or Lead Acid?
Me and you are in the same boat(pun intended) I lost my dads boat last year to a battery meltdown and I'm overly cautious and terrified of lithiums now. My boat runs AGMs and probably will till they outlaw them with some stupid environmental law.

Thinking of upgrading my kayak
A fluke style anchor is all I use in current.

Time to Make Changes
I have both. I have a 19 foot stratos fish and ski and a 13.5 Native Titan. I fished out of the titan for years until I bought the boat. A boat is easier for me being a disabled vet. after 20 years in and being associated with the military as a contractor, I have too many injuries from serving where it is getting hard to spend a full day on the kayak. I have outfitted my boat to make things as easy as possible to launch and recover my boat. To be honest with you it is much more of a hassle to go fishing with my kayak than it is with a boat. Less expensive yes but alot more hassle. I'll just spend a few extra dollars and take the boat and my body thanks me for it.

Old-School Lures that Work Great.
The shad rap is the best cold water crankbait on the market still to this day. #5 and #7 shad raps are irresistible to bass.

Drop shot hooks and plastics questions
Makes sense. I use mine on open rocky banks alot more than I do anywhere else so the lighter presentation is ok for me.

Drop shot hooks and plastics questions
Thats sounds alot more like Gerald Swindle's power shot setup. For me drop shot is a super finessey presentation. I use 8 pound flouro on a medium light rod with a 1/0 or 2/0 wacky hook or finesse flipping hook and up to 1/8 ounce weight(The less the better). For those that are knot tying challenged you can use the VMC spin shot hooks that provide an attachment point for your drop weights but they can get pricey.

My little tricks to catch more bass. What are yours?
keep a chartreuse highlighter for soft plastics. I fish flukes ALOT. sometime when they start getting shy rather than changing color i'll take a chartreuse highlighter and put a stripe down each side like a sexy shad. It usually picks the bite back up.

Favorite wacky worms

Shaky head, neko rig, drop shot rig
I use the same rod for all three it is an Abu Garcia Pro series justin Lucas made for shakey head and neko rigs. The action is a medium fast. As far as pressured fish go as a general rule the smaller the profile the better. Correct. There are always exceptions to the rule as nothing is ever 100% with the behavior of an animal.

Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
Went to the flea market this weekend. Kid(Literally he couldn't have been more than 18-19 with his mom there) had a table full of Super expensive premium and JDM baits. I paid 95 bucks and walked away with: Megabass popmax in pearl Berkley 7 inch Cull shad in natural shad 2 Vision 110+1 juniors in Pro blue 1 Vision 110+1 Junior in mat shad 1 Vision 110 in pro blue 1 Rapala Jowler in Wht(Been wanting to try out the jowler but wasn't gonna pay 20 bucks just to try it.) 3/8 blade baits 2 in Blk/blu, 1 in Chart/ wht 3 bags of minnow baits he had alot more cool stuff and he said he's gonna start setting up a table every week and I asked him if he wanted me to just set up a direct deposit or just take cash each week.😂

MB Vision 110 Colors
I like the Berkley Stunna over the Vision 110. That said, Mat shad is my new alltime favorite color for Vision 110s. I picked up a few a while back and I almost like Vision 110s better now. lol

My little tricks to catch more bass. What are yours?
I'm the exact opposite. Aglias never worked very well for me but a roostertail will always get me at least a fish to get the skunk out. I fish a herring lake and I always have a fluke and a jerkbait tied on. Everything else however is like playing the lottery and seldom do I hit jackpot on the first try.

My little tricks to catch more bass. What are yours?
When I can't get bit I tie on a roostertail. It has never let me down

Shaky head, neko rig, drop shot rig
Can't go wrong with a good ole zoom trick worm for shakey heads. Watermelon seed is my favorite since I fish pretty clear water. For my neko rig setup I use a strike king OCHO(senkos are too soft IMO) alot because i like a little more meat on the worm since I don't use an o'ring and on a dropshot rig nothing beats a 4 or 5 inch roboworm.

Missile Baits Ike's miniflip is my go to for finesse jigs.

Top Classic Baits
Livesay ain't telling me anything I didn't already know. Not a bladed jig but this Battle baits 1/2 ounce suppressor in Morning Dawn is one of my most productive springtime lures. Only difference is I use a morning dawn zako on mine instead of a fluke
