  1. I caught a Virginia citation Chain pickerel on an egg. First cast the first time I ever threw it years ago when it first came out. Loved that bait ever since and many bass have fallen to it.
  2. Hello. Native guy here. I have the Titan 13.5 it is a GIANT!However, the boat handles like it is alot smaller than it is. Titans are pretty maneuverable from the 10X up. I weigh 300 pounds and I can stand and cast, paddle(which is surprisingly easy) an sit fairly comfortably for 8 hours no problem(Iam a disabled vet. Broke my back in the service) Not to mention you will save some coin. Also don't discount the slayer. The Slayer 12.5Max is a beast of a boat too.
  3. If I'm on the bank I have a BPS blue backpack tacklebox I use. It's the older version from like 2000 but this is basically the exact same one. It carries more than enough for me. https://www.basspro.com/shop/en/bass-pro-shops-pro-guide-3600-backpack-tackle-bag
  4. It catches fish even without FFS. I bought a few packs last january at a fishing show and have done pretty good with them.
  5. I use only Abu and I buy all mine new unless its a killer deal I find at the flea market.
  6. I would use 12lb. flouro on the baitcaster and if you aren't worried about fishing any structure that you will hang up on I would use 15-20lb. braid with a flouro or mono leader on the spinning rod depending on what you are throwing on it.
  7. I've landed tons of fish with ten pound stren on a zebco 33 with beetlespins, roostertails, and bobbers and hooks. Why is it fishing was so much simpler when I was a kid? All I needed was my little Junior bassmaster tacklebox(That's what my dad who is a crappie guy called it lol) , and my Zebco 33 classic I mowed yards all summer for, and a bank.
  8. June gonna be hot. shade lines and docks will be your friend. I use a shaky head with a good ole zoom trick worm on docks (a neko rig also works well) and a weightless fluke on the shady parts of the bank.
  9. I live in Western NC the closest lake used to be 45 minutes from me with Helen's intervention now I can't even get to it. We have creeks and rivers all over and I am thinking about taking a rod with me in the truck to hit these creeks. Lot of folks around me say they are loaded with smallies.
  10. Nice striper! The stripers will be starting to move up in the river here on Hartwell anytime now. Which tells me that for the next month I will be dodging center consoles with silly names wrote on the sides of them. I honestly hate striper season. lol Hole buzzards everywhere when they move into the river.
  11. Bassmasters was my jam. I also liked the in-fisherman and ole Babe Winkelman's "Good Fishing". I was thinking about this the other day. Anybody know whatever happened to Orlando Wilson? I used to watch his show too.
  12. Aside from my titan I also have a Jackson which is my river kayak. It is 12 foot and I haul it on a boat cradle on my bed racks. I also built a 6 place trailer to haul the family's kayaks to the river. A bed extender really doesn't work for me since if I'm taking a kayak 90% of the time I'm hauling at least 4 of them.
  13. I used to throw the magdraft until I threw a cullshad. That honeycomb moves ALOT of water. I throw mine on a 13 fishing medium heavy Fate(or is it a black?) rod with no troubles. I use 15 lb. flouro and an Abu Revo X 7.3:1 reel never had any issues and it feels "just right" to me. I catch wipers on it 5+pounds all the time.
  14. I have a Native Titan 13.5 and its a freaking battleship. I had to buy a trailer just to get it to the lake. A 5 foot Tacoma bed just won't haul a 14 foot kayak comfortably. I say a 12 footer if you can get away with it is the way to go.
  15. well at least it looks cool. Spotted bass on Hartwell have some of the most vivid coloring of all spots.
  16. How I sleep when I have to stay at a hotel with my boat in the parking lot during a tournament.
  17. I always use a wacky rigged senko.
  18. My PB came on a minimax with a 3 inch zako trailer. I was ripping it through thick grass in shallow water
  19. Gen 4 Glock 19 is my daily carry. Sometimes during the summer is switch to a SnW shield if concealment could be an issue
  20. when I was stationed there I fished out of west neck. Close to the intracoastal waterways and plenty of canals to fish as well. Blackwater trading post is a good place to put in too.
  21. US Navy Aviation Ordnanceman 1994-2004 then 3 years as a contractor with Grumman.
