The latest sale thread
I will thank you, but my wallet will not lol. I just ordered a SA 734C and a SA 735C to replace two of my rods that I'm not happy with.

What should I use this rod for?
Like said, I would only use it with light spinner baits like the Booyah pond magic or something along those lines. The rod is too soft to drive home the heavier hooks on the bigger spinner baits in my opinion. You may have some success, but I think a heavier rod would be a much better option for that.

What should I use this rod for?
I have that rod, and am currently using it as my jerkbait rod. I will also be using it with my smaller square bills.

That was at Burden Lake in Averill Park.

Welcome from a fellow NY’er.

Red baits
I’ve had pretty good luck with red colors here in NY. I got this one the other day on a red/orange lipless.

Ned Rig Conbo?
I finally got myself a dedicated Ned rig setup this season. I went with a longer rod for longer cast due to most of my fishing being in very clear water. I ended up with Daiwa Tatula LT 3000 on a Daiwa Tatula Elite AGS 7’6” ML fast action.

Last Reel Ever - The One.....
If I knew it was going to be my last one ever I would splurge and buy a reel I’ve been drooling over, but could never justify purchasing. That would be the Daiwa Steez SV TWS.

The latest sale thread
I was just coming here to post about their current sales. I took advantage of the buy 3 get 1 free on both the Yamamoto Zako and on the Strike King Thunder Crickets, plus the $10 off $50 and free shipping over $49. I ended up with $84 worth of baits at regular price for just over $55 including tax.

Shallow/ medium crankbait rod under $250
Take a look at the Daiwa Tatula TTU701MRB. It is designed for exactly what you are looking for, and is a bargain in my opinion. You can actually get it for $110 from Sportsman's outfitters with free shipping right now. I picked it up for the same thing that you are looking to do, and have been impressed with it the few times I have had it out so far.

Any Luck In Upstate Ny?
Got out for a few hours today for some bank fishing. Not a ton of action, but I managed one solid one. I missed two bites dragging a finesse jig in the same area. I threw back to that spot with a 6thsense Quake Thud and gave it a couple of rips and that got the reaction strike. I actually thought I snagged a rock for the first few seconds.

Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
The darn monkey got me again. I wasn’t happy with my top water setup so I decided to purchase a new one. Daiwa Tatula Elite paired with a Daiwa Tatula 100. I’ve found that I really like the actions on these Daiwa rods. I also picked up some more Z-man stuff with a reward that I had from Dick’s that was getting ready to expire.

Finesse Line Question
I think the importance of the line color is going to come down to your vision. It is very important to be able to see your line to detect bites that happen during times of slack line. If you have trouble seeing the the normal dark green braid color using light line then I think switching to a high vis color would definitely help. I personally have no trouble seeing my line without using high vis colors so I stick with the darker line color because(at least in my head) it helps.

Kayak options
You likely won't find anything more stable than the Hobie Pro Angler. That is probably ideal for what you want to do, but it is very expensive. The Feelfree Dorado with the overdrive is a good alternative for close to half the money.

Best Finesse Rod/ Reel Pairing?
As Scott said the "best" will vary depending on budget. I will say that regardless of budget I would steer you towards Daiwa and Shimano for spinning reels. I have used reels from all the major manufacturers, and in my opinion no one comes close to equaling those two on the quality of their spinning reels.

Length of Rod for Neds
I use 7'6" rods for neds, and most of my other finesse stuff with the exception of drop shotting.

New spinning reel
Tatula LT is my go to in that price range.

Hair Jig and Ned Head high end Rod...
I picked up this rod this year to be used for this exact purpose. I am planning on getting it out for the first time this weekend. Glad to hear that you like yours. My initial impressions of the rod are great just from having it in hand, and not having used it yet.

I've caught a ton of fish on those using a very slow retrieve while paralleling the bank.

Fishing Lingo mis-pronunciations
I can honestly say that the last thing I thought I would see on this site is one of this jackwagons commercials lol. It used to be you couldn't watch TV for more than 5 minutes without hearing HUUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGEEE.

Fluorocarbon what do you use?
I mainly use Seaguar if I’m using fluorocarbon, though I do use P-line tactical occasionally. I’ve had great luck with each different type of Seaguar fluoro from the cheap red label up to the more expensive stuff.
