Ideal Keitech Swing Impact Fat trailer size
If I would like to use some Keitech Swing Impact Fat for trailers on 3/8 and 1/2 oz chatter and spinner baits what is the best size to get? Ideally I would like to not have to bite some off each time and have it appropriately sized compared to the rest of the bait.

What size braid should I go with?
I was thinking 15# too. However, after doing some research it looks the 15# has a diameter of .22 mm and the 20# has a diameter of .23 mm so for only .01 mm of difference should I jump up to a stronger line?

What size braid should I go with?
Never been a fairy wand guy but I have broken down and bought a spinning rod/reel. It is a 7' M that I will use for wacky rigs, ned rigs, shaky heads and other lighter options like that but nothing super light or anything. I have read a lot about guys choosing braid for their fishing line and I am a big fan of Sufix 832 so I assume I would go with that. But which strength? I was thinking 15 or 20 pound, is that a "common" strength to go with for a 7' M spinning rod?

Didn't say it wasn't. I just remember reading on here a few days ago that you could get that discount and free shipping and if true obviously I would rather take advantage of it.

Dobyns Sierra or Champion
In the Champion line I agree with you on your assessment of the 734C and the 735C. I have always wondered, though, why the 734C is rated as a Heavy and the 735C is a Med-Hvy. Never made any sense to me if the 735C is supposed to be a stouter rod which it is only listed as a Med-Hvy.

Daiwa Tatula XT 7'4" H frog casting rod vs Okuma TCS 7'3" H casting rod
- Daiwa Tatula XT 7'4" H frog casting rod vs Okuma TCS 7'3" H casting rod
Thanks! Do you have any experience with this rod for frogs?- Daiwa Tatula XT 7'4" H frog casting rod vs Okuma TCS 7'3" H casting rod
Where have you found this Daiwa frog rod you are talking about?- The latest sale thread
Sounds like there were a few places offering 40% and free shipping. Can that option not be had anywhere now?- The latest sale thread
So is it just 40% off all prices listed on their website? Any charge for shipping?- What should I do with this rod?
Man, you guys are beating this rod up pretty good! If I wanted to determine for myself if I thought this rod was tip heavy how would I do that? I assume put the reel on and put my finger under it and balance it on there? How far up should be the balance point?- What should I do with this rod?
I'd assume 99% of people fish a jig with a trailer on it. Would you say a trailer bumps a 3/8 up to 1/2oz and a 1/2 up to 3/4oz in essence?- What should I do with this rod?
My first thought was a frog rod? Seems suited for that or am I wrong? But maybe bigger jigs? Bigger spinnerbaits? Whopper ploppers?- What should I do with this rod?
A buddy of mine game me a 7'5" Heavy Fast Shimano SLX casting rod that has a lure rating of 1/2-1 1/2. What would be a good use for this rod?- What does "tip heavy" mean?
Which kind of tip is easier to walk a frog with?- What does "tip heavy" mean?
I also read about a "soft tip" on here too. Is that the opposite of "tip heavy?"- What does "tip heavy" mean?
I read on here guys referring to a rod as "tip heavy." What exactly does that term mean?- Is 66 yards enough main line to put atop backing on BC reel?
One of the reels I put the backing down on and then the main line on is "uneven" on the spool and I am sure it's because I did not have the reel on a rod and I held the line to the side some. I probably need to pull it all off and then reel it back smoothly. My first thought was just throw it over the side of the boat and run it out and stop and reel it back in. But then I got to thinking, is it a "bad" idea to let the backing get wet and then reel it back on the spool? If I did that presumably I would never get down to the backing so it might not dry out or whatever and may not lay as tight? Or is there a better way to do it?- To anyone that owns both the Shimano SLX AND SLX XT reel
Well if the SLX has 4 brake blocks and the XT has 6 that would automatically mean they are not the same, correct? Even if they were the exact same size it may not work properly if I were to put an SLX spool into an XT reel, right?- To anyone that owns both the Shimano SLX AND SLX XT reel
Correct. And I'm just asking of those who own both for confirmation that an SLX spool is the exact same size as the XT or not.- To anyone that owns both the Shimano SLX AND SLX XT reel
I own a Shimano SLX reel. Was out on the boat and had the spool out and was about to put some line on and the reel slipped out of my hands into the drink! Oh well, what can you do but at the time I was pretty hot. Anyway, I am thinking about buying the Shimano SLX XT reel this time around. Two questions, to those who own both how would you compare the two? Worth the extra $30 bucks? Secondly as I mentioned I have the SLX spool still, is it a PERFECT match to the SLX XT spool where I could throw braid on this extra spool and "hot swap" it into the XT reel if I wanted to use different line on the fly, as it were? Or is it a completely different size and style to where they are not interchangeable?- Is 15# FC too much for jerk bait fishing?
But being new to jerk bait fishing 15# won't really negatively effect the action or learning curve, correct? - Daiwa Tatula XT 7'4" H frog casting rod vs Okuma TCS 7'3" H casting rod
