  1. Keeping it inside without heat just means you can leave it unwrapped/tarped. It's still basically outside, just much dryer and more accessible.
  2. Yep. I can afford the monthly payment but I couldn't afford to replace everything in a month. My deductible on gear is basically set so if a rod goes poof that's on me but if all my rods go poof then I'm going shopping.
  3. Just ordered some Alumi-UV. I can use that for a bunch of other stuff if the jig heads don't work out.
  4. Haven't had any issues with Like buttons on Android (phone and tablet) or desktop (Windows 10). All Chrome. Sometimes the reply edit box glitches out on my phone though.
  5. Good tip about the hook eye! I'll use some liquid mask on that before I paint. I was going to put some effort into the painting and make them pretty, mostly for me, as you're right, the fish don't seem to care what condition the paint job is in.
  6. Got my tracking number today. Tackle Claus is on his way! Be good, lest ye be visited by Tackle Krampus instead!
  7. Looks like Alumilite Alumi-UV is probably my pony.
  8. I might have some SH Hard As Nails, have to look. Another option would be UV resin as I have a UV curing booth for my 3D prints. Would have to do research for what kind... I think they use one for hard baits...
  9. The copying part is fine. I just hate when other boats get too close. Some people will nearly rub rails with you and not think that's impolite. If I can pitch my jig into one of your open hatches, you're too close to me.
  10. Yes, here too. It was a joke, I don't even have a tree, lol. It isn't true, but sometimes it certainly feels like there's more private lakes here than public ones. ?
  11. Maybe I'll drag the tree out onto the ice so I have a new offshore brush pile to fish in the spring. ?
  12. Boat is winterized in an unheated garage. The main winter projects are redoing all the weather sealing on the hatches (totally shot) and a full boat rewire. There's twenty years worth of temp fixes and questionable logic in there.
  13. So when the package arrives, are we posting what we got immediately or are we saving it for a specific date?
  14. I'm going to airbrush acrylic paint onto the jig head and then need to seal it so that it won't just chip off while fishing. I don't have the equipment to powder coat.
  15. I oil my reel bearings... Only use grease on the trailer. ?
  16. Sure. Is it durable on jigs?
  17. At least for mine, the trolling motor is considered equipment whereas the outboard is not. So I had to make sure I had enough to cover one of those nightmare situations. Insurance is never worth it unless you have to use it, lol. I value peace of mind very highly so I like being well covered.
  18. I have a bag of those but haven't got bit yet. Maybe I'll try them again in the spring.
  19. My boat coverage has equipment as a separate line.
  20. I searched around and the keywords were to common to find much. I'm looking for a paint on (or spray) clear Jig finish that isn't a two part epoxy. I saw a post from a while back saying U40 Permagloss would work. I'm not picky as long as it's not a project to work with and the results are good, lol. Going over acrylic paint if that matters. Though I could hit it with a lacquer first if need be.
  21. Interesting, I will certainly try that on the next one! As soon as my reel seat gets here anyway.
  22. If I'm not in a tournament then I don't care at all. If I am and people are copying me then I have failed to obscure what I'm doing, lol. But at least I am doing something worth copying!
  23. Yep, type Ultraminnow into Ebay. I found a blue one fairly quickly. There were thousands of results so I didn't get too deep. https://www.ebay.com/itm/JR-Mcgees-Artesian-Crafted-Minnow-Jig-Heads-3d-eyes-Striped-Bass-Ultra-Point/254739575566?hash=item3b4fa9730e:g:7k8AAOSwpYhfehPk
  24. Im learning all kinds of words today, lol. I know stank, but stanking was a new twist on that one for me.
