So I've decided I'm gonna start flipping tubes more often this year. I've had decent luck in the past plus I think they are just something my fish never see. Currently I have yum vibra tubes and strike Denny Brauer flipping tubes. Saw the big bite craw tubes a while back and they intrigue me...anybody use these?

I'm sure that would work I've just never really tried it. Maybe I should give it a shot.

That doesn't count...if its suspending its just an odd shaped jerk bait!

Is there such a thing? Ice just came off the past couple days. Ive had luck on them early but have never tried that early

Yes it is frustrating no doubt dealing with these new people which I will not refer to as anglers because they do not deserve that title. Worst part for me isn't the pressure but the garbage everybody is leaving behind. Its disgusting. Also yes it can be frustrating watching people keeping bass especially larger ones. But if you see people keeping illegal fish it is absolutely your business and even responsibility to do something about it. Call the DNR..they will take care of it.

I used to trap minnows in a creek the routinely floods and runs into my local lake. It was not uncommon to catch crawfish in the trap so I studied them. Most of the craws I've caught have been a combo of brown and green pumpkin with blueish highlights especially on the claws.

Well time of year and as @Bluebasser86 said overall population both have an impact. I have a local pond that doesn't have a great population that I hope to catch 2-5 a trip most of the year. Likewise I have a couple other ponds that have better populations that its not uncommon to fish 3 hours and catch 15. A few summers back I hit it right and caught I think 27 in 2 hours. But to address the time of year thing even in those ponds with good numbers there are times...like ice out and mid summer...when its not uncommon to get skunked.

Well if in doubt throw it out...then run out and buy more. Gotta keep those dudes at Scheels in business bro.

Was living in Ingleside Texas 20 minutes outside of Corpus Christi. Was either doing homework or in the bay pulling on some speckled trout with my dad..who at that time was younger then I am now. Some of you guys don't think 1990 was that long ago..but when your only 37 its forever.

I have a similar situation in a pond near me. Biggest bass I've caught in said pond is 5-6lbs but I've seen some considerably bigger. In fact the south Dakota state record largemouth...9lb3oz...came out of said pond. I saw one in there that I would say could top that. My pb is high 8lb range...and this fish I saw was easily the biggest bass I've laid eyes on.

This is another one for me...I picked up 3 bags of zoom 6inch lizards for the spring this year. Haven't thrown one in maybe 10 years.

I've seen some YouTube videos about guys fishing small ponds around cape cod during herring runs with big swim baits catching some big largemouth. Looks cool and kinda unique to me.

I use a smallish drawstring backpack...fill a tackle tray or two..throw my tools and scale in the front pocket...throw in a handful of bags of soft baits.

Nope no skunk here...so far I've caught perch,bluegill, crappie and rainbow trout.

I think ill follow @A-Jay recipe and just sub in the rice.

Good call on the rice...think I'm gonna go that route to.

His YouTube channel is intuitive angling...he has a lizard mod video from 3 weeks ago and a brush hog mod video from a month ago he talks about it both videos. I've also seen him mention it in other videos.

What is a bait or rig that has produced for you but you rarely throw? For me its a light Texas rig on spinning gear with 8lb mono. Im talking primarily a 1/8oz weight, a small bead, a 1\0 or 2\0 hook and a baby pit boss or 4.5 inch finesse worm-bottom hopper or roboworm. This rig has caught me fish in 36 degree water and 90 degree water...when I couldn't even get a sniff on Ned! For some reason I rarely think to throw it...which is a shame.

Randy Blaukat talks about it alot on his YouTube channel. Not sure if there is much to it but he's a well respected pro whose made a living bass fishing for 35 years...so I trust his judgement.

Found some open water at a series of small ponds today. The ponds are 1\3 to 1\2 way open. Lots of nice gills swimming up shallow..saw a couple dink bass. Couldn't fool any bass but did manage a couple nice rainbows..felt good.

Girlfriends brother has one..he's made us smash burgers a few times and they turn out fantastic.

I'm also a fan of bone on cloudy days...especially for top water or jerk bait. Another couple favorites are gold black back traps or spinnerbaits with gold blades.
