  1. My lady started as a fisherwoman when we first dated but after years of fishing with me at that pace she got burned out on it. Now she fishes maybe twice a year and just goes to hang out from time to time. But the best thing is she never cares how much or how expensive I buy.
  2. Spinnerbait waked under the surface
  3. Ha that's great!
  4. Went to a lake about 35 miles north of me this morning. Fished 3 hours caught 15 bass...nothing huge but most nice 2lb class fish. To top it off I found a brand new kvd 1.5 somebody broke off in a tree.
  5. You got a good one for sure.
  6. That's the color I found
  7. They claim you should fish a bladed jig like a crankbait...the fogy has what all crank guys are looking for a wide hunting action.
  8. Well most years by mid to late November my water is colder than that...most times hard by then! You are already throwing what many consider the best baits for those temps. Two I use a lot in those temps are a size 5 shad rap and a simple 3in white twister on a ballhead. I also use a trap...but for my other baits I downsize alot...small jerkbait and finesse jig.
  9. I fart in your general direction
  10. Flat no roll sinker
  11. I use medhvy modfast...to confuse you further.
  12. A heddon sonic. Never seen one before and I think they have been discontinued a long time. Hooks are in rough shape but otherwise it's not bad. Don't know much about them.
  13. I know tons of guys use a super fluke rigged weedless. Does anyone use a standard 4 inch fluke and thread it on hook point exposed? Seems like it would work great that way around shad schools if there was little or no cover
  14. Honestly most of my bites the last week have been in super shallow water...caught 7 this morning with a buddy...deepest water we got bit in was maybe 3ft
  15. Maybe if they had black nickel hooks...with those chincy bronze jobbers they are only worth 26k
  16. 1989 Plymouth acclaim 6cylinder. 4 door...got it in 2000 around my 17 bday for like $1200. Had brake issues...got them fixed...tranny went out after like 6 months...loved the freedom but hated that d**n car.
  17. I use the bill Lewis trebles...get them on tackle warehouse...pretty much the same as the triple grips
  18. Saw the video when you found that frog rod...lucky guy
  19. That's great!
  20. Is such a nerd. Watching a video the other day BLat was throwing a plopper she asks Is that one of those whipper flippers? I responding by saying I'm not sure what that is. The things she says kill me sometimes. Maybe why I love her so much...never a dull moment. Edit: now she claims she said walker flopper..as if that's better somehow
  21. That's awesome. Worked with a guy for years and we fished together several times. He was in his 80s the last time and it was always a cool experience...fish or no fish.
  22. Was gonna say that's awesome but the dudes wearing a huskers shirt so I cannot support this post! .....just messing. My dad is 65 and retired...he worked most of his life in construction...namely for a company that builds oil refineries. He moved to what I would call the fishiest place here in Iowa but because of my parents age and how busy it is all summer where he lives we haven't fished together this year because of covid concerns. We are planning on changing that the first part of October. When I was a kid I didn't get along with my dad so I missed out on some things. As an adult I grew up, took my head out of my a#$ and started realizing he's a great guy...instead of crying about the wasted time I started enjoying our time together and now we are friends as much as we are father and son. Glad to see other guys with straight priorities.
  23. My bait started schooling up weeks ago but the bass just started showing up the last week or so. Two weeks ago I was getting 1 to 3 bites a trip...last Thursday I got 9 bites in the same amount of time. A few things are at play I think: the bass are out deep still because they are kinda trying to figure out where the bait disappeared to. Also they don't notice falling temps out deep like they due up shallow because it's a bigger volume of water and takes a little longer to change. I also feel another thing pulling them is Sun angle and length of day just like it does in spring. So be patient ...as the days get a little shorter, the water a little cooler and the bait balls a little tighter the bass will get a lot more aggressive. Last week is a perfect example...Tuesday I got two bites and saw little activity...Wednesday I got 9 bites caught 7 and saw lots of other bass crushing shad balls. It's coming buddy.
