  1. Thanks and congrats to you as well friend! I was literally spending money weekly myself on tackle and such and the instant we found out about the baby I stepped back and realized just what a massive amount of gear I actually had. Looks like we both will be sharing our love of fishing with some little ones very soon!
  2. I know how you feel. The bait monkey took every penny of my birthday funds back in January lol I told family and friends that I wanted fishing gear and such and ended up with money. Roughly $230 worth of tacklewarehouse baits and a new 7’ M Vendetta rod. I just try and treat the bait monkey like a distant relative that I drop in and see once in awhile because we get along pretty well lol However, with a baby on the way, I cannot afford to keep the bait monkey so close to home.
  3. Spinner baits so far have always put performed the swim jig and chatter bait here for me. No luck on either.
  4. Your welcome my friend! And thank you!
  5. It honestly doesn’t bother me one bit. So much that use to be a big deal all of a sudden isn’t anymore.
  6. Thanks Chief!!
  7. Congratulations my friend!
  8. No one else I would rather share that passion with.
  9. Thank you and I agree! My dad loves to fish more than anything and he can’t wait to get his grand baby out on the water with him and make some memories. He has already laid claim to babysitting all weekend long when spring hits after “that baby gets to walking good, we are gonna be on the creek bank running some lines and checking some hooks!”
  10. I’m gonna be a daddy y’all! The wife and I found out last week! After all the stuff we have started doing to prepare for the baby, I found myself looking at all my fishing gear and I teared up as I realized “I can’t wait to take my child fishing for the first time”. It’s the number one thing that I can’t wait to do with my little one once he/she is old enough to get out there. It’s all I can think about next to enjoying the fact that being a father is gonna be the best experience of my life. My dad passed his love for fishing on to me and I’m ready to do the same.
  11. Way ahead of you friend. I bought seven 200 yd spools is red label from bass pro on their Presidents’ Day sale a a couple weeks ago.
  12. Those caffeine baits by strike king really work for me where I’m at, but almost no one seems to buy/use them. It’s weird, but at the same time I enjoy having that much more plastic to choose from lol
  13. Well it’s a revo ALX reel setting on a vendetta 6’9” medium rod. there was a slight wind that day too.
  14. So yesterday the wife and I headed down to the local boat ramp for a few hours of bank fishing and my very first cast with a weightless bubblegum fluke with a 3/0 hook pitted me with the absolute worst bird nest to date. So bad that I had to respool with new line. I adjusted my reel several times in an attempt to dial it in to accommodate the weightless lure and nothing helped. I only had 12lb fluorocarbon on hand on the reel and the spare so that may have hindered it, but I’m not sure. I ended up t-rigging a kraw and finishing the trip up. Is there a certain or specific technique for these types of weightless applications?
  15. The krackin kraw is amazing. 6th Sense is another soft plastic I grouped into the “won’t go anywhere” category. Proven wrong happily with the hogwalla and stroker kraw t-rigged.
  16. I can always justify it myself.
  17. Hang in there! You’ll be slinging line in no time.
  18. Could very well be. I wasn’t aware that ranger was under the same umbrella.
  19. You are correct fried. Only thing is, the closest ranger dealer to me is over two hours. Tracker is only 20ish minutes depending on traffic. The stinger 175 variant is what I have been looking at as well.
  20. Yes sir I am aware that the cost saving to the customer comes at those exact points. I am wondering if the overall construction is an issue. Yeah the Lowe brand is pretty sweet I think.
  21. I plan to do just that Tuesday!
  22. Looking to buy my first bass boat and tracker is the closest dealer to me. I’ve been eyeballing them on their website a lot lately and they have very attractive price points compared to other competition. However, I was recently told that if Walmart made a bass boat it would be the tracker brand because of quality. I of course don’t know that to be true, but was wondering if some tracker owners here could speak on their satisfaction? If I don’t go the tracker route then I will most likely be setting in a Lowe aluminum bass boat this summer.
  23. As per my thread that you have posted up there, I find the Seaguar Red Label to be very very good for its $14.99 price point. It was the second Flurocarbon that I ever tried and is amazing. My braid experience so far is very minimal. I’ve tried Power Pro and Spider wire...stealth I think it was. Both did really well for top water so I can’t really complain. There were a lot of good responses in that thread too. edit: if you find yourself confused after awhile, just do what I did and buy a 150-200 yd spool of a braid and FC in the lb test that you want to try and see how it works. Ultimately you will find what works for you may not work for someone else and vice versa. @GTN
  24. And ended up REALLY liking it to the point you wanted to keep it? So my wife has wanted a Lews Mach Crush combo ever since she saw our favorite YouTube personalities using them a good bit. I personally thought she wanted one because of the color scheme, but I ordered the combo as part of her Valentine’s Day gift from sportsman’s outfitters and it arrived yesterday. I took it out of the box on the carport so I could sneak into the house easier out of her sight and I was not ready for how good this thing felt and handled. This thing felt great! I ordered her the 7’ MHF combo since that’s what I use predominantly and she usually grabs one and goes. The reel is very nice and smooth and the rod feels really great. I am an Abu and Dawia guy myself with only a single Lews reel in my Arsenal that I personally try to avoid using because it doesn’t palm well at all(tournament slp model). I think I know what the next batch of overtime at work is gonna pay for edit:$182 shipped is what I paid for the combo. I couldn’t find it anywhere else online in stock.
