  1. Same, although I will lay my rod and reel in the grass with the reel face up of course. It's funny how I have seen some people over the years sort of just toss their rod and reel in the grass. But then again they probably didn't spend $$$ on them lol
  2. OK understood. Do you use reel covers on them or just leave them as is?
  3. Oh ok I understand. When you are not using your reels are they stored or set aside with reel covers or do you typically leave them exposed?
  4. Hey, So I'm curious how all you fellow fishermen feel about your reels cosmetic condition over the years. Do you baby your reels and try your best not to scratch them? Or do you just see it as a piece of equipment and the visual condition is not really the concern for you? Personally, if I even suspect that I might have blemished one of my precious reels my stomach drops for a second lol ?. After all, we pay a decent chunk of money for our reels. Just curious as to what your opinions are on the subject. Thanks
  5. Oh shoot lol...? well if it was meant to be that way I better go message the seller and tell him sorry ?..my bad
  6. Exactly, it just seems "open" like there is supposed to be a decorative cap over each exposed nut. Maybe I'm wrong though and that's the design of the handle...I'm not sure. I suspect that there should be though
  7. Hey, So I decided to purchase a Chronarch G, it arrived today but I noticed it seems to be missing the decorative caps on the knobs that install over each nut. Are these particular knobs supposed to have end caps on them? I did a search online and saw a picture of the whole handle assembly for sale, and it also shows it without end caps, just exposed nuts. If I check Google images of the reel, some sources depict the handle with the end caps...now I'm confused lol. Any info would be appreciated
  8. Hey, I was cleaning my Bantam and noticed the washer that sits inside the main gear seems to be carbon, but the other larger washer seems like a different material, it's plain and feels "rubberized" or something. I know it's ok to put a tiny bit of grease on the carbon washer but is it ok to put a little grease on the plain rubberized one? Thanks
  9. Thanks very much. I was confused because when I removed the nut for the first time, it was very tightly fastened, so that made me believe it is supposed to be reinstalled pretty tight
  10. Hello, I was breaking down the reel for maintenance and was wondering how tight the brass nut should be when you reinstall it? I realize there is a plastic retainer that goes over it, so it needs to be at a certain angle for the retainer to seat on the nut. Should the brass nut be tight as possible or just hand tight? Thanks
  11. Hmm not quite...I don't see the Bantam anywhere lol ?
  12. I do prefer the paint color on the G model. And even though it doesn't have the MGL spool, that's not a deal breaker for me....so what if I can't cast 20 feet further. I think the Chronarch G is the ticket
  13. Lol I really need to stop looking into the Chronarch. Now apparently there is a G model made for saltwater purposes....it looks really sharp. I'm a freshwater fisherman though. Do you think it pays to have the saltwater rated one as opposed to the MGL version?
  14. Lol well you know how it is....they need to come up with new things eventually. So why not go from 4 to 6. It's a marketing thing of course, but I can't imagine activating all 6 brakes at once ?....sounds like no fishing will get done that's for sure
  15. It's ok no problem. Yeah, the current chronarch MGL is still advanced enough it will take a long time for a new model to really blow it out of the water lol. And 6 brake shoes?! Wow, and I thought 4 was perfectly sufficient lol..talk about precision braking control.
  16. Oh I had no idea they were going to release a new Chronarch model this year, probably over the $300 mark if I had to guess for a while. New MGL spool? I had no idea they were releasing a new type of MGL spool either lol. I own the Bantam MGL and it's a fantastic quality reel. Honestly though I don't really care if it's the latest and greatest model Chronarch model, I doubt it will outperform the current Chronarch MGL model by very much honestly. I appreciate your input
  17. Thanks for responding, that is what I was hearing from some other people too. The metanium mgl may be a higher price point, but it's unlikely to seriously outperform the chronarch. Is it true the grey paint finish on the chronarch has red flakes in it?
  18. Hello guys, I have been taking a break from fishing lately but I am cleaning my reels up preparing them for spring. So I'm getting the itch to add one more reel to my collection ?. I'm stuck between the Chronarch or metanium MGL, both reels have lots of praise about them. I would appreciate your feedback and user experience with these two reels to help me decide. Thanks
  19. I actually have the intenza already but for casting in MH. I like the rod a lot, it's a sharp looking rod too.
  20. Hey, So I have a shimano 2500 stradic I bought a couple years ago and I'm looking for a nice rod to pair it with. I was debating between M or MH, but decided that I like fighting the fish a little more so I am looking for a nice M 7' rod. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm looking for something not really high end, around $100 - $150 range. Thanks
  21. Lol I appreciate that, they are nothing spectacular. The other peacock bass was decent though, put up a nice fight, almost 2 pounds. Take care
  22. Hey, Had a great Friday, managed to land a few decent fish from the rock pile after work. Just had enough light left to cast out for a little bit ?
  23. Evening, I went out back after dinner for a little bit and caught a nice bass and pretty nice peacock, easily 2 pounds ?? have a great night
