  1. Hey Went out back this morning to cast out after some coffee and landed this healthy example. Happy fishing
  2. Oh it definitely hit my crankbait with force lol, I thought it was a decent size bass at first. I would agree that they rarely go for artificial lures, there are a lot of them in my local pond and my lures pass right by and they don't really react lol, sort of get spooked if anything
  3. Lol this one basically let me drag it out of the water, did not put up much fight
  4. Hey Decided to cast out in the back after work, landed these two examples. Nice size tilapia, I don't catch these very often. Juvenile peacock bass but still a decent fighting fish ?
  5. It's amazing how much power these guys have even as a juvenile lol... You feel like you're fighting a larger fish until you see it on the surface ? caught this a couple hours ago just casting out in the backyard
  6. Lol thanks for..commenting, your opinions have been noted
  7. Hey, Decided to fish for a little this evening and landed a decent largemouth ? was around 12"-13"
  8. Oh ok, see I already own the curado 200k in a standard baitcaster lol so I thought it would be silly to get it in DC version. I thought to myself, if I'm going to get a DC reel, get an interesting model that you don't have. Yeah im a Shimano fan myself, all my reels are by shimano and most rods ?
  9. Hey, Have not fished for several months but wanted to share this nice peacock bass catch this morning on a green inline spinner
  10. Yes thanks, I know the specs of the reel but just wanted to know what people thought if it in terms of use in the field. If the reel seemed worth the price and if anyone had any issues with it
  11. Hey everyone, I have not tuned in for a while, had a lot of major things going on in life the last several months. Hope everyone is doing well. I decided to join the DC reel club to see what all the fuss is about lol and purchased the exsence. Does anyone have experience with this reel? What are your thoughts? Thanks
  12. Hey Just wanted to post my small catch today. Mayan and nice bass. Alligator showed up again to spectate
  13. I caught both of them on a shallow diving crankbait! I replaced the treble hooks with single hooks ?
  14. Hey So I decided to chime in since I have not caught anything in a while. This is my small catch this afternoon, but I left early because it was so hot out today? a nice peacock and Mayan cichlid. I lost two more, they threw the hook on me. Happy fishing
  15. Lol see, I was thinking to myself something like this exists already....dang. thanks for making me aware
  16. BassSteve posted a topic in Fishing Tackle
Hey So no luck catching anything lately, just some bites. But I noticed an unnatural crusted object floating in the scum pond and it turned out to be a nice jerkbait by Yo Zuri! The hooks are trashed, but that's no problem to swap out. After a light scrubbing it turned out really nice with most of the original finish intact! Will make a nice addition to the collection ? Happy Easter everyone! ?
  17. Oh shoot, I don't exactly remember sizes, but the rule of thumb i follow is to pick a hook that is about the size/length of the spinner blade. So far that has worked out for me. If I had to guess, a lot of #1 and #2 hooks..some smaller ones i have on #4.
  18. Sure, I use gamakatsu open eye siwash hooks ?
  19. No problem guy...I would say in the morning around 7am and evening around 6 or 7pm would be a good guess
  20. Oh they are nothing special really. They are "rooster tails" by Worden's/Yakima and sometimes Panther Martin. Truth is I have way too many of these lol. I must have close to 100 different colors and sizes, half of which I never touch! My favorite size is 1/4 though, and while I catch fish on silver and metallic finishes, the dark blue, purple, and solid black are producers, mainly because the waters I fish are pretty dark. Sometimes I repaint them my own colors using enamel paint, that way you don't need to buy tons of different colors. See, I have a long strip of underwater rocks that they love to hang out in, and I nail them burning it right past their little rock caves and lairs. when it bumps against the rocks and starts up again sometimes that is when they hit it, and they hit it hard. I replace all the treble hooks with single hooks and crimp down the barb, so release is very easy but you need to keep the tension on the line and land them quick or they might throw it. ? Just stay positive you will get one eventually, happy fishing!
  21. Well my humble catch this evening, nice couple of peacock bass on inline spinners? I think one with the bump is male and the other is female..? will do better next time
  22. So I decided to fish this evening a little more late than usual. Landed a nice number this time. I was landing crappie like crazy! I rarely catch them in this pond (is it the season for them in FL or something?). Caught a decent bass and Mayan cichlid(sorry no pic, I use hooks with the barbs crimped, got off the hook and flopped back in the water). I was not harassed by any snakeheads this time fortunately. Oh, and I think the gator enjoyed my being there, it likes to watch lol ? happy fishing ?
  23. I agree but a great maze of underwater branches for the bass, they must be everywhere in there ?
  24. So this is the meager catch this evening, not much but I tried lol. Of course lost another hook and worm to a snakehead....starting to worry soon all that will be hitting my lures are snakeheads ? Caught a decent peacock and good size Mayan cichlid ?
  25. No problem brother, keep it up
