  1. Have a new Zillion G 7.1 on the way, with the intent to dedicate it to a square bill rig. Need a rod for it. Let’s say sub $200, and 7’, and a nice moderate graphite blank. I’ve been tossing them on a 7’ ALX Hustler composite. Great rod for shallow/med cranks, but I think I want a little more sensitivity for my SBs. (Graphite) I’d try a Tatula M/R, but I’ve got a bunch of them, and I’m tired of the cork grips coming loose, and the square triggers wear on my finger. Id like a Tat Elite, but don’t see one with quite the right specs? Toss up what suggestions you’ve got. I’m assuming a FR705CB will be one of the popular choices, I’ve just never “taken” to the Dobyns rods. TIA!
  2. I wonder what time frame this one is from? With the big seam, it looks a little difference than most I can find pictures of.
  3. Now that you say that, it definitely is. Any idea what model it would have been? I can't find any pictures of one that looks like it.
  4. I'll snap a couple this evening. It's at least 15-20 years old. It's about the size of a Baby 1-. Maybe a touch shorter. It has an obvious molding seam running down the middle.
  5. Anyone recognize the make/model?
  6. If you're not regularly running shallow, gravel bottom rivers.... You don't want a jet.
  7. So best I can tell, these are these are the H20 Xpress square bills: CRS - Seems to be a KVD 1.5 exact copy? SPCRM - 1.5 sized, but with larger bill, and slightly deeper dive. CRM - 2.5 Sized, but larger bill, and slightly deeper dive. "Fat Shallow Square Bill" - Not real sure on this one. Specs don't say much. CRUL - Maybe a 1.0 sized, or smaller?
  8. I have a new Tatula 100HS listed here for $110 (retail $159). And you can get a Duckett Silverado at Omnia right now for $79 ($99 retail). https://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/248854-wts-tatula-100hs/ https://www.omniafishing.com/p/duckett-fishing-silverado-casting-rods/action*fast--length*6'8"--power*medium-heavy That combo wouldn't hold anyone of any skill level back.
  9. Bingo. That’s what I was looking for. Thanks.
  10. Which model is the "OG"?
  11. Well, technically speaking, if you get 10% back on what you pay (after the 15%), then you don't get a full 25% off. But close enough. ?
  12. I'm still confused on where the 25% off comes into play? Is the current sale 25% off for premium members, instead of 20%?
  13. Interesting. Do you fish both? Recommendation one way or the other?
  14. It's a squarebill, and dives to the same depths as the CRM? They look almost identical in photos. So the SPCRM is smaller? Which is closest to a KVD 1.5?
  15. Not really relevant to the thread, but I just received my Zillion HD. Initial impressions are..... Wow.
  16. Get the US version at Omnia for $280. Brass gears, better knobs. As for the MGL 150. Hard to say. I like that reel a lot.
  17. Anyone use the H20 Xpress square bills? I'm wondering what the difference is in the CRM and the SPCRM?
  18. Does anyone own both the CRM and SPCRM H20 Xpress lures? I'm wondering what the main differences are in the two lures. Looks like slightly different size maybe?
  19. How is the HD compared to the G?
  20. 10-4. I thought that's what you were alluding to, just wasn't sure. And on paper, I agree with you. However, for what it's worth (not much), my experience in the real world is the exact opposite. Any time I stray from Gammi or VMC EWG's I notice a marked negative change in the ability to get fished hooked. I don't know why EWG's work as well as they do, but they do (for me at least). I've even gone to the HD VMC ewgs for most of my creature pitching. They work beautify, and missing a meaningful bite is rare.
  21. Can you elaborate on that? I don't think I could ask for a better hookup ratio than I get on T-rigged 4/0 Gammi EWG's (which, if I understand correctly are what you're describing?). I tried some standard VMC "ike approved" worm hooks for a few weeks earlier this year, and my hookups went down the toilet. EWG's for me from now on.
  22. Well. The monkey got the best of me. There’s a 22 Zillion HD headed across the ocean. First JDM and first “real” Daiwa.
  23. I haven't found a reason to stray from KVD 1.5s, and the occasional 2.5. They are durable, I can get them at Walmart on the cheap, there are plenty of colors, and they catch fish.
  24. You kidding? There's probably more than one in the last 24 hours.
