Pete Rose should be in the Hall of Fame and Barry Bonds should have an asterisk beside his name in the record books. Just my opinion. T
  2. Good Luck, hang in there! Just remember as hard as it is, a positive attitude is a key point in a successful recovery. Tony
  3. Some equipment that I like that might be consider inferior or heavy. 2 St. Croix Triumph spinning rods, Abu Garcia 4600C3 (w/ spool bearing upgrade). Shimano Convergence rod. Some equipment that I paid good money for that I hate. 1 ML Compre casting rod, 1 Key Largo spinning rod. My all time fav. combo. 7MH Shimano Clarus/Symtre 4000 FH.
  4. I just wanted to give some props to our own Reel Mech. I sent him an Abu 4600 to have cleaned and new Abec 5 bearings installed. Top notch service. Constant and quick communication., He sent my reel out last Friday from Kansas and it arrived in NC yesterday. I will definitely be him sending more reels for cleaning. Big T
  5. Favorite Angler: My Grandfather (Started me fishing when I was four) Favorite Pro: Flip Pallot
  6. I am very interested in which reel is recommended for this rod, as I have the same except in the 6'6" version.
  7. I'll agree. Dale Sr. was the man. I think Jr. is just very popular because his last name is Earnhardt.
  8. I just bought the rod you are looking at. I have not had a chance to use it yet, but I like it so far, I plan on using it for trolling for Spanish Mackerel and bigger Red Drum. I have mine paired w/ Ocean Master 4000. I'm not sure on longevity but it casts like a dream. Hope this helps.
  9. I work for Wal-Mart. We stay open 24/7. If we would have closed people would gripe. If we run out of the most popular item of the year , then people gripe. The criminals are becoming more elaborate every day. Before people start bashing Wal-mart, they should work there awhile.
  10. $3.26 in Wilmington
  11. Saltwater: 40 lb. Wahoo Numerous King Mackeral and Dolphin in the 15-25 lb. range. Freshwater: 18" around 2lb LMB
  12. I agree, also if it were not for the commercials, then you would be watching you races on pay per view and paying around $50-75 bucks per race intstead of the monthly cable rate to get TNT. Big T
  13. Born and raised in Southeastern North Carolina, lived in Frederick, Maryland for about a year in high school. Moved back to Wilmington and have been stuck here ever since.
  14. 35
  15. What a comeback, LA sure blew that one. But I still do not like the Celtics.
  16. After giving it more thought, even though I do not really like Kobe. I dislike the Celtics even more. Plus they can not win on the road. They are really stinking up the Staples center. They were down by 11 when I made this post: however, the Lakers have been laying the smack down on them. I am piciking the Lakers in 6 games.

It was 99 degrees today at 5:00 PM, Wrightsville Beach Fire Department had to spray the draw bridge for the 3rd day in row. I do not know what is going to happen in late July and August when it really gets hot. I hope they do not spray that bridge every hour when it goes up. So much for Gov. Easley's water conservation. 18. Prayers sent, good luck on your back sugery. I hope you have full and speedy recovery. Big T

Ok, it usually gets pretty hot here in Southeastern NC but this is rediculous. We set record highs this week; as it was anywhere from 95 -97 degrees. It got so hot yesterday and today that the, DOT had to have the Wrightsville Beach Fire Department spray the metal gridding on the draw bridge with water because the metal expanded and would not shut completely. And this birdge opens every hour to let boat traffic through.
  20. There is a local televsion show that when filming on the waterway here they try to hide the back ground as not to show where they are filming. I do not blame people for doing that, the last thing you would want is to publish a picture with details of the place where you wer at then the next week have a ton of people in your favorite spot. Just my opionion, Big T

Thanks Guys, I do not mean to complain but it irritates me that I first I have to pay these clowns colse to $4 a gallon then I get crappy gas that causes me to spend additional money to fix. The biggest thing that irritated me was that it needlessly put me in a position where I was at the mouth of an inlet that has the potential to get nasty real quick. Thank God I had my trolling motor, my cell phone, and a VHF radio if I would have needed a tow.
  22. I stopped to top off my gas tank on my 16 john boat Tuesday, close to $20 on a six gallon tank. Went to the boat ramp at Snow's Cut, unloaded my boat ran about a mile down to Carolina Beach inlet, throttled down to anchor and my motor cut out. Fished for a little while ran out of bait went to start the motor, nothing nada. Now here I was trying to use my trolling motor at the mouth of the inlet on out going tide. Anyway to make a long story short I had to spend close to $150 to get the carb removed cleaned and reinstalled. The Yamaha dealer said that they had a influx of people who bought gas from a certain station were getting gas with water and trash in it. One somewhat humoruous point to my story was I got pass by a tandem kayak. Big T
  23. I do not know about your Walmart, but I would not let the store here touch my truck with a 10 ft. pole, and my wife works there. From what I understand is that they had to replace a customers motor, because they left the drain plug out or so loose it fell out. Engine blew less than two miles down the road.
  24. Filleting a gamefish on the water in NC will get you a ticket. Stringers are fine but usually will attract the attention of a Shark or a Barracuda offshore or at one of the near shore reefs.
