  1. The 1980's revisited I grew upwatching Bird play. I hated the Lakers in the 80's, then started following them after Bird retired. I can not stand Kobe so , I think I may have to pull for Boston.
  2. I live in Wilmington, it is about 45-1 hr drive from Wilmington. If want to freshwater fish, there is Sutton Lake. It is on Highway 421 North, outside of Wilmington. It is kind of hard to find. The road going to the Lake is right beside the NH County fire services station. The lake is about a mile or 2 down that road, which turns to dirt. There is a small fishing dock there. If you take your boat be careful, there are lots of stumps in there. On Oak Island, as the Jake mentioned there is Ocean Crest Pier. That is the only remaining peir on OI, or you could launch in the ICW and fish the mouth of the Cape Fear river. Also you will need a freshwater license or a salt water license depending on where you are fishing. If you fish at Ocean Crest pier, I do not think you will need a license because I believe they have a blanket license. Here is the link for them:http://www.oceancrestpier.net/ Hope this helps.
  3. I had a Barracuda do that to a Mahi once, the head wieghed 10 pounds
  4. Try a Shimano Speedmaster, alot of guys around here use those for King Mackeral. Holds plenty of line. We catch small dolphin here in the summer as close as 5-10 miles off the beach. There was also a sailfish land off one of the peirs a few summers ago. The Speedmasters sell for around $120, I believe. Penn makes a cool little reel that is comparable to the Shimano. Hope this helps Big T
  5. It wasn't like it turned red and i went through, it was yellow and i was passed the intersection lines. The picture shows my front tires on the lines on the other side of the intersection where your suppost to stop at. I talked to a few friends and they said that some of the tickets are bs because the yellows don't stay yellow long enough and one girl even told me she has never paid it and has been pulled over after the fact months later and had no warrants for the ticket and the cops didn't even mention it. I'm gonna pay it though. Matt, your in Weatherford which doesn't have as much traffic as Dallas/Fort worth so it wouldn't surprise me if they never showed up in your city. Today when there was a stale green light like LBH said i hover my foot over the brake, this slows me down and gives me better reaction time incase it turns yellow. Oh well lesson learned. Drive save guys and girls. Here the camera's do not flash unless the light is red and then you cross the line. When they were fisrt installed the fine fine was $50, now it is $100. Also the reason your friend di not have any warants issued is probably due to the fact that the city hired a private firm to monitr the film from the camera's and it has nothing to due wiht the police, that is how it is here in NC.
  6. I filled my john boat up last week, it cost me around $15 for a litlte over 3 1/2 gallons, if it would have been completly empty i would have been over $20 for 6 1/2 gallon tank. My 25 Yamaha 4stroke is efficient but when I go saltwater fishing I use most of the tank then, I have to get bait. It cost $5 each person to get on the piers. I see alot of night time saltwater trips on the peir in my future. Big T

I have not posted on this thread in awhile, so I thought I would post an update. I finish my radition treatment Wednesday. I go back to Duke in a couple of weeks. When I started they told me there was a risk of damage to my spine. It looks like I have made it through with little problems. I had a little nausea, and was tired. I lost very little weight, around 2-3 pounds. I am starting back to school today and going back to work hopefully next week. The doctors are pretty confident that the raditon will have taken care of any residual tuomr cells. Only God knows for sure. I just wanted to Thank everyone her for the words of encouragement. Thanks Big T
  8. I think those cameras are a waste. First off, the local law enforcement here does not even enforce them. They are monitored by a private company. Also the state supreme court ruled that 90% of the revnue from them must go to the local school systems, which is good. The only problem is now the city can't afford to keep them up and alot of the camera's in Wilmington needs to be replaced.
  9. I am not sure about Loomis rods, however alot of the guys that use them on here say that a Loomis rod does not come into it's own until you get to the IMX series. Of the rods that I have; the Shimano Clarus is a good rod, for the $59-69 and the Compre is even better for $89-99. I have played with the Crucials as well. They are even better than the Compre's.
  10. I live in Wilmington, so I am not very sure about that area. Have you tried the Waccamaw River in Conway. Hope this helps a little.
  11. "You can't fix stupid" ;D
  12. Not hot. Not even cute. I have never been able to figure out why when a man cheats on his wife, he does so with a woman that is not all that good looking. I mean if you have a good looking wife and then you have an affair with a ugly woman it does not make sense. It's like owning a Ferrari and wanting to go steal a Ford Pinto. ;D

Oh Yea, To elaborate even more on the race, I can't help but think that Denny Hamlin stopped on the track intenionally to draw a yellow flag. This allowed Busch to catch up with Jr.. Otherwise, Dale Jr. would have left Kyle Bucsh in the dust those last 10-15 laps.

I do not like Busch either, while I know that it is part of racing I can't foget the fact that he got mad as you know what Friday night when Rusty Wallace's son pushed him out of the way in the closing laps. He got so mad that he went to start a have words and basically starta fight in the pits. Kyle Busch is a second rate driver in my opinion that is why Hendrick got rid of him. I do not have a problem with rough driving. Earnhardt Sr. ,made a living bumbing people out of the way, just do not get upset when the tables are turned.
  15. I agree, I had to quit going on there, due to the butchery of the English language.
  16. I hate to see people fishing with a spinning reel upside down, my wife had a freind that use to do that until I showed her how to switch the handle to the left side. The only people around here that do that are tourists that do not know any better. These are also the same people that try to fish off the pier with a small freshwater outfit and three ounces of lead tied to the line.
  17. I like Tony Stewart, he has that bad boy attitude. He is not like most of these new drivers that are affraid of speaking their mind. I think he should switch teams, just from a business stand point. If he owns Chevrolet dealerships and they sponsor his other teams why is the world would he want to continue to drive for Toyota.
  18. I agree gas is way too high and the technology is there to use less oil but to out the price of gas in prospect compared to other countries; I saw on the news this morning, that in England, gas is $8.06 a galllon, $8.36, I bleive it was in France, and $7.96 a gallon in Germany.
  19. 10 minutes to Sutton Lake- maybe 7-8 miles 5 minutes to Wrightsville Beach. It is those trips to Carolina Beach that kills me 30 minute drive with weekend traffic.
  20. Catt is right this is exactly what we use to do back when my friends and I were King Mackeral fsihing offshore years ago. It was nothing to burn 30 to 40 gallons of fule on calm day.
  21. Danica Patrick's Career Stats According to Indy Car.com, the IRl's Official Website. Career Starts: 50 Wins: 1 Top Five's : 9 Top Ten's: 29 Poles: 3 Career Winnings: $3,201,315 Not Bad, That's better than some Nascar drivers.
  22. Filled the wife's car up Tuesday night, Gas was $3.44 a gallon, Wednesday morning the same station was at $3.39, Thursady morning it was $3.43 a gallon. Luckly my wife works 2 miles from the house and I am only using a tank every two weeks in my Nissan Xterra. I can fill my john boat up and a tank will last almost half the summer. The lake I fish isn't very big and I do not run fast because of stumps. Saltwater trips use more gas but those are few and far between. > Big T
  23. I missed the show; however, I was impressed that Miley Cyrus was able to perform. I saw on Inside Eddition, where, she was battling a case of Strep Throat that night.
  24. Classic matchup from the 80's. Lakers vs Celtics
