Waterproofing A Tackle Bag?
I agree with Kiwi. I use it and even in the rain it is great. You might want to run some was on the zippers too.

Did they survive Fed ex?
I believe in personal accountability. I can't buy into the "how Fed Ex is treating their employees" If that excuse is good then be careful of where you eat... if employees are mad at management, who knows what can happen to your food... Their beef with management shouldn't translate into intentionally destroying someone other working stiffs package or being careless in its handling.

You know it’s been a long time...
Never Ever go with out your license... I went out fishing with a friend on our kickboats and was having a good day when the Ranger pulled his boat up next to us to look at our hard sided kickboats. He started asking questions like where did youget them etc. Before he left he said "I ought to check your licenses". My buddy had his and I had my old one. I had taken the wrong one (I never save them anymore). He gave me a citation with a big smile and said thanks for the info on the boat. I had to go to court twice, once for the arraignment to set the trial date (one day off from work) and one more day off for the trial. I met with the Asst DA and showed them my current license that I had left at home and they dismissed the citation. I could have been out fishing those days rather than sitting around a courthouse for the better part of the day. I learned my lesson now it is in the tackle bag in a nice plastic baggie...Just hope I don't forget my tackle bag now!

Your first car
'56 Chevy Belair..it was a blue and white 4 door automatic. Changed the front seat and welded the back doors shut changed it to a stick on the floor and repainted it a '65 chevy blue. It was a sweet ride.... and fun to work on. Today I open the hood and I'm beat. Now driving a '96 4 Runner with 238,000 miles in it... at least I change the oil on it..LOL

I recently placed an order in the AM over $50 and got free 2 day shipping that showed up 2 days later. 2 items were backordered and are expected to ship same way 9/25. seems they are my bait monkey go to this summer.- Bubba Shot
I went out fishing yesterday afternoon/night when the temps were reasonable here in AZ and was throwing chatter baits, swim jigs, TRigs and a good old drop shot..nothing was working. Finally decided to try a Bubba shot using a number 2 offset(straight not EWG ) hook and a 6 inch Danny Joe's original floating worm (Red Shad) with a 1/4 Oz weight and to my surprise.. that's what they wanted. had a great dusk and early night "B" shotting. Decided to call it quits a 9 pm since there was no moon and I was out on my TwinTroller and my buddy was on his kickboat and it was a good 45 minutes back to the ramp. It was great to get out and not sweat my butt off for once this summer..ok a little sweat but only till the sun went down. I am now a believer in the Bubba shot as another way to entice a bite.- I need a list of rod types for each situation.
I would add a ML 6'10-7' ML foe Ned rigs and other finesse applications an go with & ft rods . That is a good length, remember the shorter the rod the more casting accuracy you'll have. Many on here use a 6'6" BC for tight cover. MHF casting MF casting MF spinning And add this for heavier applications: HF casting- KastKing Lines
thanks for the comparison to P-Line flouroclear, that's what I use also Bluebasser86 what size line do you like for spinning reels.- KastKing Lines
Thanks for the information- KastKing Lines
Does anyone have experience with KK Florokote and KK braid. Are they good lines?- There's a change in the air...
Oh heck... I can wait because.....- How do you pass the time when fish aren't biting?
With the heatwave we've been having here in AZ, I'm on the water by 4 AM and off by 10 (it's generally 100 degrees by then on its way to over 110+). By then it is HOT and the recreational boaters are out creating havoc on the water for my small boat. When I find them, they are in deep water. In between active casting and bait switching I grab a cigar and enjoy the scenery - fish don't live in ugly places. I'd rather be out on the water even if catching is slow.- These things could save your life!
Great tips Glenn. I was once stranded on an 18ft runabout about 6 miles off shore from LI, NY with my Father, the motor wouldn't start and there was a storm coming fast. I didn't know it at the time but my had a device he had seen at a Coast Guard show and it was a distress beacon. Within minutes the CG showed up and towed us in as the storm was hitting, I'm a believe, it is cheap insurance to fish another day!- Greetings from Long Island
Howdy and welcome from a former LI guy. This is a terrific site- Turning the page
Tom, Losing a child is devastating and there are no words that will make it easier, only the memories you shared with each other will help heal the pain and put a smile in your thoughts Like many on this site my prayers are with you and your loved ones. I wish you comfort and peace as you turn the page- What is that on the horizon?
- Ned rod
Found this You Tube video by Gary Senft at Bartlett lake AZ from a couple of years ago, thought it might be of interest.- Ned rod
I use a ML 7ft Fenwick Eagle with 10# Nanofil to a 6# Floro leader. For an inexpensive rod it is sensitive and I have caught many a bass on this ned rig.- How do you guys transport your rods?
Generally transport them in the boat and have lures/plastics tied on based on for where and when I'm fishing, Lure wraps for Treble hooks and like Tom, I spin my line around the rod and eyelets for soft plastics pitting hook in rods keeper. I like playing and checking my tackle the night before..especially for those 3AM leave times ? - Fishing a Fluke - What Am I Doing Wrong?
