It may not be for some folks, but for me Shaw's way works for me and makes a nice small knot that goes through the guides easily.

I have tried the FG, Double Uni, Crazy Alberto and Albright knots for joining Flouro to Braid and this is the easiest and fastest knot for me on a bouncing wind blown boat. Even easier in my backyard LOL.

The great thing about fishing is you are constantly learning and experimenting, Something that worked terrific on Monday may not be so hot on Tuesday. Time spent doing something with your son and learning with him is going to be a great experience. Time on the water is important, and asking questions of the folks on here will be a great start. Sounds like you had fun. Lake Pleasant AZ is primarily known as a Striper Lake, I am making the assumption that is the Lake Pleasant you are talking about. Fun lake most of the time. Maybe next time a bigger hook LOL

Just got back from Lake Fork TX and the fishing was tough. Tues and Wed winds were really up on the main lake 20mph plus 35-45 mph gusts The guide (Mike Mc Farland) brought us to some back water spots to get out of the wind and we only caught 2 fish the whole day Tues and 1 fish on Monday. Every guide I spoke to and some of the boaters that stayed a the lodge where we stayed (Burning Stump, Highly- recommend- it's a fisherman's place not a marriot) said the lake is about 3-4 weeks off its normal pace due to a major freeze they had a few weeks ago and the fluctuating temps. Spawn hasn't really started, only spotted a few bed fish and they weren't having anything to do with us. we pitched to what looked like 2 great beds for about 45 minutes each.. Nada the guide tried it ... Nada.. Thursday was a much calmer day and we were out with a different guide (Rich Stringer) and we were on the water from 7:30 AM to 7 PM and had a total of 6 fish and a couple we lost. Nothing of any size. I will tell you the guides worked their tails off going to shell beds, lots of wood, back water coves etc. Just bad timing with the weather. Would I go back.. yup.. planning a trip for next May for the top water bite. Also heard Lake O.H. Ivie is now on fire now (just east of St Angelo TX)

We got shot number2 on Monday ..I was fine after the shot, but the next day my wife came down with chills and a 101 fever. She went to bed Tues night and woke up this morning as if nothing had happened. We heard that could happen. She is sensitive to meds and also feels the caffeine rush from a cup of coffee. All is good now and we feel good about having the protection, even with a little inconvenience of the effects of the shot for her.

you might remember Dom Deluise .. I use his cookbook quite a lot Source of Recipe Dom DeLuise, Eat This It Will Make You Feel Better List of Ingredients 2 tablespoons olive oil 2 tablespoons melted butter 1/4 cup lemon juice pepper to taste 3 garlic cloves finely minced 3 tablespoons shallots, finely minced 2 pounds jumbo shrimp shelled and deveined lemon slices and parsley for garnish Instructions Combine olive oil, melted butter, lemon juice, pepper, shallots and garlic in a shallow baking dish. add shrimp and turn several times to coat completely. Place the dish of shrimp in a preheated broiler about 4 inches from the heat for about 2 minutes, turn, and broil on the other side for 1 minute more. Don't overcook. Arrange on a serving platter and pour remaining sauce over the shrimp. garnish with lemon and sprinkle with parsley. Serve hot and stand back.

It seems that those vaccines worked in eliminating those illnesses or limiting the spread of them. It is not just you that you affect, but if you should contract it, think about those you have interacted with just before you got it. Just saying..

Was the fact that she didn't set and reel a cause for the "ex" factor LOL. I'm stoked looking forward to this trip. Since the Phoenix area has limited lakes the fishing pressure has been unreal. They say the lake is big (as in Texas big) and that there should be some good 5 pounders on a regular basis... I hope they're right!
