  1. Open wide and say "ahhhhh!" Look at the mouth on that bass! Nice catch! How big was it? With regards to the boat problem, it sounds like that's what the trip was for-to iron out the kinks. So, in that respect, its purpose was served. Bad battery? Bad gas and weak battery? Hope it was resolved quickly.
  2. Nice fish! Way to go! As Fish Chris said, nice color on the bass. Looks like it was eating pretty well too!
  3. You should think about baseball. ;D
  4. I think it depends a little on how much money and time you have in the first place. I mean, if you are very limited in each, it may be difficult to justify all of what goes into fly fishing. But if you have plenty of both, than by all means, go for it. I find flyfishing a lot of fun-though I do tend to flip flop between methods. My biggest regret is not having more time to devote to each.
  5. You can speak English freely there-so long as you do it with a french accent. They will all understand you perfectly.
  6. Before the feces hit the fan, I always encouraged people to save their money and stop spending so dang much (especially stay away from borrowing and credit cards). Now, I almost feel I have to say the opposite. No, really, if everybody saves all their money or buries it in their backyards, this situation will not improve much. People should do now what they should have done before. Be smart. Put aside money for difficult times, spend some (but not more than they make) and never borrow unless it's absolutely necessary! (and I don't mean, "I absolutely have to have that brand new bass boat!")

  8. Yes, I haven't recently gotten pulled into an argument about the stupidest things. I miss that. :
  9. Dang! I knew I was in the wrong career! ;D
  10. Great question! My answer depends on several things. First, if I am fishing from a boat, I'd usually rather be with someone. It's safer, makes boat launching and recovery so much easier, and makes for good company. If I am fishing from the bank, a lot of times I'd rather go it alone so I can concentrate and move freely. Unless the other person doesn't mind picking up when I do, it's often easier to go it alone. But all of this depends on who I am going with. With some folks, I always enjoy their company and will make the necessary accomodations. With others, I'd stay home just to avoid them.
  11. I'm happy for you. It'll probably be a few more weeks before my boat and trailer are fully functional so who knows whether the pattern you had will still work. I remember that last spring I had decent luck with a blue Glass Rap off a main lake point and then again last fall on the windward side between the dam and the the marina. Blue definitely seems to be the color.
  12. Living with bears is a good way to get eaten by bears. But I think this theory has already played out to the affirmative. When I was a kid, I fantasized about being a mountain man. Now that I'm older (and maybe a little wiser), I know that as soon as my stash of peanut m&m's and raspberry Zingers gave out, I'd be in real trouble.
  13. Well, at least I still have my memory. And one more thing, I still have my memory!
  14. I had to think about that one for a few minutes. Good one!
  15. At least I don't (yet) drive around with my turn signal on....or do I?
  16. Recently I stopped at a stop sign and sat there, waiting for it to turn green. On another occassion, I slowed down and stopped at a sign (a square sign with a stop sign on it to warn of an approching stop sign) rather than at the actual stop sign. I can't wait to see what else awaits me.
  17. I could be wrong on this but when the floating Rapala came out, it was one of the very few really natural minnow baits on the market. It's not that they don't still work, it's just that there are tons of other worthy lures to choose from. So the "new kid on the block" ain't so new anymore and he's got a lot of competition. And while some fisherman enjoy nostalgia, the vast majority want the next hottest thing. I rarely hear anyone say they fish with a jitterbug or hulapopper-though there are still tons of them floating around (pun intended).
  18. Nice fish! Clinton's only a 20 minute drive from my house. I won't ask where, precisely, you caught them but was it on the warm water discharge side? Any particular pattern? (I always practice catch and release, in case you are hesitant to say). Nice smallmouth. Didn't know Clinton had any.
  19. Once you remove the console, if you install some pockets in the sides and corners, you could play billiards on it. Just kidding! I'd leave it alone.
  20. Question-Do the biggun's fight as well as the small ones? I wouldn't know. :'( Awesome smallmouth!!! Can I touch the hem of your trousers?
  21. All I can say is "Bummer dude!" Still, you know it's in there waiting for you.
  22. Did you respond to her with "Baby, You're the greatest!"
  23. The sky is falling!
  24. Sweet! Darn good first outing, I'd say! Any smallmouth in the mix?
  25. Unless your friend is a dwarf (little person, or whatever the PC word is these days) I'd guess that fish is at least 6 lbs. Nice one, at any rate!
