  1. That’s a pretty crappy reason for keeping that many fish in a live well all day when there are better alternatives
  2. Question: It appears like they are weighing and releasing some fish MLF style, assuming it’s becAuse of the slot on lake fork. If they can make that work like that here, why not do that at every tourney for every fish?
  3. I know what you mean...this was like a decade ago but had a day where they were just nuts.... 3 40"+ and 3 35" on the mississippi. I go back to that spot every year at the same time and have never been able to come close to replicating it...
  4. I know I'm wrong.... I just like the word flipping better... everyone knows what I'm talking about. Lets go flip some jigs in the trees. I've never actually flipped in my life...
  5. I use the term flipping a lot- but when I do, I'm always pitching...
  6. I hate catching the little hammer handles, but when they start getting big like that those are a blast!
  7. Looks the same as the current president XT to me... https://www.scheels.com/p/pflueger-president--xt-spinning-reel/04338841271.html?store=&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIu67F_MSD8AIVVG1vBB24Pgj0EAQYAiABEgIE2fD_BwE $80 reel and $80 rod price seems pretty good?
  8. Very interesting- thanks for the tips fellas. I bought it to use with a shakey head, hadn't really considered swimming it...
  9. What do you use to rig it when swimming?
  10. I got a couple packs of these today. I was interested to see the little “tentacle between the body and the tail I’ve never seen it in pictures. How are you using this? Keeping it attached? Removing it just from the tail end? Removing it completely?
  11. Serious question, are you like 13-14 years old?
  12. You are making this way harder than it has to be...
  13. I like the Siebert Brush jig... streamlined shape is good for swimming and it stands up on the bottom well. Also comes in 1/4 oz
  14. I have a custom painted “Baby Bass” DT-6 that’s been beat up so bad it’s basically a countdown now- still runs true though... I bought it in hopes of landing some big pike but it ended up being a killer big bass crankbait...
  15. Baffled.. is this real? Discuss....
  16. No worries- Id imagine the hooks are about the same size so your experience helped me all the same
  17. 5/16 is an option on the compact flipping jig. Don’t like fishing a 3/8 oz jig but want something heavier than 1/4. Not a fan of the finesse cut skirts and want something with a stout hook.
  18. The hook is plenty stout so I'm not worried about that. More concerned about missing fish, or not being able to get them hooked real good... If it's a 4/0, it's a small 4/0. All of the Siebert's jigs I have are 4/0 and none of them are close to being this short...
  19. No issues with the smaller hook?
  20. Does anyone have much experience with this particular jig? I've been looking for an all-purpose type jig that's available in 5/16 oz- this is one of the only ones I've found. Everything looks great, but worried about missing/losing fish due to the substantially smaller hook.
  21. Dragging live bait behind a boat and waiting? Nah...don’t care what species it is. If picking the right spot, making the right cast, and proper presentation isn’t involved then I’m out... I hit the trout streams a couple times a year with a worm and usually a bobber- I’m sure they call it “fishing” but I don’t consider it the same thing.... Those also weak IMO
  22. I, personally, wouldn't be bragging about "catching" those fish.. but to each their own...
  23. Trolling for anything isn't really fishing
  24. Most of the big Chatterbait guys out there advocate for a crankbait style rod and fluoro when fishing these baits..
