  1. If I could.. I would... If I went to Florida, family is coming with, and they aren’t letting me fish. I was speaking more along the lines of shaving all my body hair or going to work in my underwear for a chance to get out on my home waters. But hey, high of 42 next week- were getting there!!
  2. Sounds like you are describing the bait, and not the cover you plan to fish it in. I would think the setup you have should be enough to drive the hook home if that's your concern, maybe not ideal, but it will work. Might want to beef up the line a bit, but where you would really run into issues is if you plan to throw it in some truly THICK cover... the rod might not be enough for that...
  3. What is the benefit to this? Any reduction in hook ups? Can you use a bit stouter rod?

I’d say that’s on you. TW makes it incredibly easy to put together multiple wish lists- I’ve had ones sitting there for months and they haven’t gone anywhere....just sign in?

Check out Omnia- you can shop filtered based on your body of water, preferred species, and time of year. It’s pretty slick being able to see different recommended options for Mississippi River pool 4 vs pool 5 for different times of year..
  6. Makes sense- not familiar with all the statewide laws- just ones that are relevant to me. Point I was going for is there ARE ways to get a line wet as soon as the ice thaws!
  7. Mississippi River right on the Wi/Mn border south of pepin
  8. If you fish on the river, as I do, it's legal to fish for bass as soon as you can find open water...
  9. Had a couple... didn't really use them much not really into jerkbaits. Had no problem throwing them on a 6'6" M spinning rod though
  10. It's -20 here today..... I'd do anything to have a fishing trip ruined by something...
  11. It’s a shame I got excited about this. 3 hours of morning coverage and then show a replay while the important stuff happens. What a joke- can you imagine CBS showing a replay of the front 9 on sat/sun while the leaders were coming down the stretch... geez
  12. Local fleet farm has these.... they have a loose bin of them for $5 each... or you can really splurge and get the EXACT SAME SCISSORS for $14.99 in the plastic shell.. ?‍♂️
  13. I have seen a lot of the swimbait specific rods having a more moderate action. Are these specific to the treble hooked swimbaits? I’m looking to throw something like a 6” hudd and wondering if I’ll want something with a fast action for those?
  14. You know you spend too much time on the Siebert website when you can pick out exactly which ones are new colors. Macoupin and Sweet Craw look really good....
  15. All purpose Jig Soft plastic swimbait 3.5"
  16. I’d be okay never seeing another bass again if it meant I could fish for musky on a regular basis
  17. Wow I remember religiously taping “Go Fish” as a youngster 25 years ago....
  18. I'm a bit south of you but same state. My goal is 20" and 5 pounds- my biggest is a bit short of 19 but not sure how much it weighed. If that's the only fish I catch all year I'll be happy. My initial plan is mid sized jigs and soft swimbaits in the 4-5" range....
  19. I like to use them as a spinnerbait trailer, but that’s about it. Kalins or Mister Twister are the best- haven’t used them but I’d imagine the traditional strike king grub is pretty good. Thought they were all the same but I got one model from TW this past year that the tail barely moved on- can’t remember which model but I wanna say big bite baits or something like that...
  20. I can’t remember the last time I kept a fish but I don’t care enough about them to proactively do something that could be very well cost me a PB...
  21. Lol I’m fishing that side for sure. And if he said something about it I’d tell him to buzz off
  22. I'd be interested in your thought process on this one. They both have similar action in my eyes and even a rage craw I don't throw on until the water warms up a bit... do you see it differently?
  23. What’s wrong with the Mississippi!? I’ve been swimming in it for 30 years and now my kids do the same....
