  1. Up next for you is a half marathon! Keep it going.
  2. I am fond of chartreuse with gold blades or chartreuse with painted blades. For lightly stained-heavily stained water mostly, though I have thrown it effectively in clear water, too.
  3. That sucks but I do hope physical therapy helps you get more mobile. Missing our adventures on Ray Rob and Stillhouse!
  4. Quick update at 4.5 months into my training program. I dealt with a couple minor injuries that are healing nicely. Took some time to lean out while they were healing. Overall things are still going good, but I will be shifting training focus to include more endurance training here shortly due to some opportunities that opened up. Also looking to double up on the amount of leg work I do weekly. Keep doing great things @A-Jay.
  5. I like living rubber jigs. In many situations, I believe they give me more bites. Hard to beat Siebert’s. Silicone is also good.
  6. Very rocky start to 2025. Been much better since. Fishing is negligible. I didn’t have much opportunity to fish this year and won’t be fishing for the rest of the year. Started a good gym routine at the start of June. That’s been going pretty good. Pretty much the only things I’m focused on these days is working as hard as possible and lifting as much weight as possible.
  7. An FG with light line is trickier business, but still effective. Always pull the knot after finishing to make sure there is no slippage. Those smaller diameter lines tend to slip easier.
  8. I’ll take the Colorado blade and just hope I’m using it better than the competition.
  9. Of all the words in the English Language, I dislike “almost” most.
  10. Without knowing anything about where you fish, I’d probably go no trailer, right now.
  11. At a little over 3 months into the current training plan, I’ve hit a Bench Press PR - finally clearing 225lb with a clean, easy press - and experienced improvement in many other lifts. Made some tweaks to the plan with @A-Jay’s input. This past weekend, a former trainer filmed and critiqued my deadlift form. He found at least 3 issues. Should get a clinic this Saturday to improve that. So far, so good.
  12. Wild Turkey Rare Breed
  13. @Aaron_H I am obsessed with spinnerbaits, but there is nothing quite like a frog blowup. I also enjoy cranking almost as much as chucking a spinnerbait these days.
  14. Good catching out there @IcatchDinks. Say hi to Pat for me.
  15. Don’t like the idea of a $17 spinnerbait. Especially one that has a swinging hook.
  16. One of the reasons I went to that, too. Makes it easy. One stop photo for myself to keep track of the quality of fish I'm catching, and others to see how long the fish is. No more selfies with the fish half or barely visible.
  17. Sounds like Reddit. Social media and some of those who use it will attempt to make you feel worse about anything positive you achieve in your life. There will also be people that applaud you.
  18. I organize tackle, maintain my kayak or equipment if necessary, build spinnerbaits, and keep up to date with the weather, dam release, and water level. On occasion, I watch a Bassmaster Elite tournament for educational purposes. I don’t watch a lot of bass fishing YouTube anymore.
  19. Great posts in here. I don’t have much to add. Great work by @Team9nine and @bp_fowler. Fish can be quite sensitive to your movements along the shoreline, as others have already pointed out. I used to fish a small reservoir in NY that was surrounded by a high wall on half of the reservoir. You can step up the wall and cast from on top. As soon as you do, some fish will see you. I used to see fish dart away as soon as I climbed up. That being said, my preference when I’m shore fishing is to move, and move a lot. Until I find some.
  20. Working on posting it to you in a PM
  21. A-Jay, Update on my training regimen. I've mostly stuck with the same routine I've worked on since the start of June, with a few minor tweaks. While my tolerance for high volume has increased substantially, I am noticing that to get noticeable week-by-week improvement in strength, I must hit the same "muscle group" twice in a week. The legs/chest/back/arms and shoulders split has been effective for me to hit high volume and ensure I deliberately train every muscle, but for strength, I need to increase the frequency of my training. How would you best recommend I achieve this? Some folks have already mentioned that I am focusing too much on introducing deep tears into muscles in my workouts, when I should be focused on introducing smaller tears, but more frequent. I can simply rotate which muscle group I train twice week-by-week and make progress monthly, but I can’t help but wonder if there is a better way to achieve this. I would say my primary goal for training right now is strength, but I don’t want to neglect many accessory lifts. Hope to hear from you. I still rotate in a HIIT day with some runs here and there.
  22. When you want Rat L Trap but bigger 3/4oz Red Eye Shad is a big bass bait
  23. I’ll seldom burn a spinnerbait. Usually, I do it in August-September when the water is either at its hottest or just beginning to cool. I find bass are up at the top of the water column more often during those months. Another time I may burn a spinnerbait is during the shad spawn. Talking tackle, I like about a 1/2-3/4oz double willow for burning with smaller blades than I normally run. Across all 12 months, slow rolling a spinnerbait has caught me far more fish and many quality ones.
