Small/subtle craw baits.
The zoom ultravibe speed craw may not be subtle but it is small. Good bait. The zoom lil critter craw is a small, realistic craw imitation that does well.

Popper
I like to do a mixture of slow pops, walking, and fast chugs until I figure out what they want My lure of choice is the Popmax

What are your go to crankbaits?
I use a lot of Rapala DT. I’m trying to get into the Strike King XD crankbaits, as well. The Rapala BX Brat squarebill is a one bad little dude. I’ve been using mine more the past couple of seasons with success.

How do bass respond to a water outlet/intake?
Can be a good place to fish. Worth checking, for sure.

Dingy water
I like this, too

Dingy water
Really, anything. Could be jig versus trailer. Could be plastics that are laminates. Could be spinnerbait skirt versus trailer versus blades. Could be a bright color contrasted with a dark color on a hard bait like chartreuse black back.

Dingy water
My opinion is contrast matters more than the specific color

Anyone else having trouble finding the fish?
I, in Texas, fishing a Central Texas clear and deep reservoir, cannot possibly hope to assist you in catching your fish in the Midwest. But, I can offer comfort that, yes, I, too, struggled fishing some stuff that has produced recently. Or struggled to fish it at all. There were three boats fishing my best night spot, and many other boats scattered on stuff I like to check. I just plan on checking out different regions of the lake next trip out. All we can do is adapt.

Favorite Bullet Weights?
I like Siebert Tungsten - the flipping style. It’s good for the price. When Mike was out of stock for 1/2oz, I tried Elite Tungsten. Elite is probably the best Tungsten I have used. Mike’s, again, is better for the price.

Anyone ever run into to a BR member?
If I could, I would. Schedule won’t let it happen. I’ve not fished any tournaments this year.

Did you catch your PB during the prespawn?
NC, overall PB, 9lbs 9oz I caught in December. I don’t believe it was prespawn but not outside the realm of possibility. NY, TX, MO PBs I all caught while they were prespawn.

Anyone ever run into to a BR member?
As previously mentioned I’ve fished with @FishTax @Pat Brown and @IcatchDinks. I also semi-regularly fish with @thediscochef on Ray Roberts or Stillhouse. I met @Kayak Koz at a Native Watercraft Kayak Tournament on Lake Fork last year.

Anyone ever run into to a BR member?
Still feeling sick as a dog, though

Scales
Rapala digital scale 50lbs is what I rock but I highly recommend taping the battery cover down. The scale is quite accurate.

Techniques for clearing a backlash.
This works well

Heavy action vs Medium Heavy action rod?
Heavier rods = thicker hooks, heavier baits, heavier cover, heavier line, or any combination thereof

How do you use the rage craw?
Jig trailer and texas rig. It is definitely a top jig trailer.

Heat Dome.
Tomorrow, the 24th of June, some parts of Maine will be hotter than where I live in TX

Braid to fluoro with knot preferences
I typically use 8-20lb original power pro to a 8-17lb Seaguar Invisx leader on my spinning setups with an FG knot. Length I measure from rod tip to reel handle.

Jigs, head shapes?
This video covers head shapes well. That being said, I don’t tend to switch head shapes throughout the day just because I’m around different cover. Very often, I swim jigs that are not ‘swim jigs.’ I will use ‘flipping jigs’ around sand and rock. I really don’t care, as long as I think it will get the job done. The most universal head I have found is Oldham’s Trailer Hitch jig. You can use it for literally anything. I also like Coda Lures Apex jigs and some Siebert offerings. I tend to use jigs that work in a variety of cover and also have characteristics that contribute to a higher hookup ratio.

Frustrating Day
Since you asked, to me this sounds like time for the deep diver crankbaits. Not necessarily always using them deep. Can throw them up shallower and drag bottom the whole way. But, seriously, sometimes the fish just don’t want to eat as much. It happens to everyone. Which you did

Really thought I was going to smack ‘em on one last night fishing trip this weekend, but turns out the bass were celebrating the solstice a day late with Modelos. Occasionally they would send ‘runners’ to go tap my bait, hang on it to a split second, and then drop it while I’m reeling in slack. I think they got a real kick out of it. No matter what bait I threw, they just wouldn’t eat it. Fortunately, I found a couple of antisocial bass that didn’t get the memo. They saved me from a skunk. Unexpectedly tough!- Frog for the thick stuff
