  1. I figured something out at the end of the day that led to some bigger bites. Hope to keep that going.
  2. Like others have said, burying the hook inside of the plastic will decrease hangups. Not tex-posing. Instead, not pushing the hook point back through the plastic at all. I do not like EWG’s, but will use them if I feel I have to. My favorite is the plain jane offset round bend worm hook.
  3. Part 2 of finding green backs went pretty good. I had the opportunity to watch a couple crankbait fish go airborne and bow over my rod. Always a good time.
  4. If you wouldn’t mind, A-Jay, expand on that for us
  5. I found some green backs today. No big ones but some good tuggers. Biggest around 3lbs.
  6. By the way, I like quality fluorocarbon. I’ve never had a bad spool from Seaguar or Sunline. I still use a fair bit of monofilament too. Fluorocarbon doesnt like kinks, and it doesn’t like an open spool with no tension. Do your best to stay away from those two things and you’ll be okay.
  7. An old post by @WRB on the subject makes sense to me. While fluorocarbon stretches, it has a lower coefficient of drag in the water. This feels like less stretch, but it is less drag. It’s why it feels like fluorocarbon slices through the water.
  8. A few 3700s store my jigs All my trailers are in their original bags
  9. Jordan really impressed me when I visited last summer
  10. Nothing special going on here. I was gone for about a month and spent the past weekend getting back into the swing of things. Over the past few days I've caught small guys on a dropshot, a neko rig, and a fluke. These are all baits/techniques that I either have never caught a fish on, or haven't caught a fish on in about five years. I'm trying to fill gaps in what I can do in clear water. I've spent more time with a spinning rod in my hand than a baitcaster recently. Absolutely gorgeous weather here in Texas. This little guy ate my fluke first cast this morning
  11. Favorites to fish… 1. Frog 2. Spinnerbait 3. Burning a swimbait - waking it under the surface. The hits are ferocious!!
  12. Good luck @Swamp Girl
  13. Yes! I do actually. Treble hooked baits go farther away from me on the crate. Jig and texas rig rods go in the kayak prebuilt rod holders for easy access. Other rods go immediately behind me on the crate.
  14. This is great advice. If you are not considering how the rod, line, drag, and hook are all acting together for every bait you use, you are putting odds in the bass’s favor
  15. I use a palomar or sometimes a hasty improved clinch. For leaders I tried a uni to uni connection knot and that was an epic failure. I switched to the FG and it has been very good to me. With the FG, I just have to keep a close eye on the line ends fraying. Lighter line is better. A doubled improved clinch knot is overall the strongest knot I’ve used, but it is messy and big with three tag ends. The palomar comes quite close. With circle hooks for catfish or flipping hooks, I will tie a version of the snell knot. That’s about all I use.
  16. Not all channel swings are going to be great. How does it fit into the surrounding structure? What cover is available? Do you have educated guesses on how different fish might use it throughout the seasons? Channel swings are overall my favorite structure to fish. I don’t want to give too much away, but you have to understand how the channel swing fits into everything else. Is there perhaps something else that the channel swing ties into?
  17. Good because that’s what I’ve got in my TW cart already
  18. I cannot think of a way to delineate what mainstream bass fishing is

  20. What do you like better about the Avid Sticks? Thoughts on using the 7’ ML spinning for drop shots? What is your current Jerkbait Rod? Adding a couple of spinning rods to the arsenal soon
  21. As long as I’m available, anytime! Any interest in Texas Kayak BASS Nation on Stillhouse May 31?
  22. Hey y’all, As I’ve mentioned before, I am dedicating a portion of my hours this year to learning to fish a dropshot. What size weight is a good starting point? Please describe how you adjust the weight you use. Thank you to @WRB and @Darth-Baiter for your posts on other threads regarding dropshot fishing. I have found them helpful.
