Standing Timber Crankbaits
Hey y’all, Hope you’re well. I would like some recommendations on diving crankbaits that intersect the 6-8ft zone that deflect well off standing timber. If there are good options that run 12-15ft as well, I am intrigued to hear about those as well.

Attainable Goal(s) for 2024
I would like to savor every moment I get to spend on the water In addition, spend a little more time with new baits and get cozy learning about lakes new and old

Is it better?
I don't know the answer to this. This depends on what waters you fish and how many, your aspirations, and your watercraft or lack thereof. My approach is attempting to master 'fundamental' lures or rigging while setting aside time to learn lures or techniques as well. A balance. The lures/rigging I am most comfortable with are a texas rig in all its weighted and weightless variations (there's a lot here), a jig, a spinnerbait, and a shaky head. I can use these in any cover in any body of water at any time of the year in any condition.

Quick Report
Nice! September before I left TX, a population of fish pulled up. Some stayed deeper. Missing October entirely has not been beneficial for me to keep track of these fish. Some of the spots I found that were good in the summer are merely seasonal.

That Darkness Thing
@GreenPig it's a mood thing for me. My energy is high when the sun is up and lower at night. When there's more darkness during the day, I want to relax more often. Unfortunately this season can trend busier.

Quick Report
Work and chores have been catching up and I’ve not been on the water since. I think things will stabilize when we get through turnover and the cold fronts stop

That Darkness Thing
Hey do y’all know that thing in the fall and winter where it gets dark by 5:30 PM? I don’t like that thing

Have a little issue here
It's not about fixing him. It's about being upfront with people. No more phone notifications for you and no more wondering for him.

Have a little issue here
I like this method. A direct approach leaves little doubt and handles things most expediently for both parties. Usually when I take this kind of direct approach, people become startled. Often I can calm them down by remaining calm and polite.

Root Beer/Green
@Log Catcher I believe I know what site you speak of. It is a winter wonderland for zoom products. I am in giant bait monkey danger whenever I visit there

Razors
I know I received a warning, officer, but I have an appointment tomorrow at 9:45 AM sharp.
-
Razors
What razor do you like to use? I use a Harry’s 5 blade. Shaves smooth and close and I just buy replacement blades as needed

Root Beer/Green
Next someone’s going to bring up plum apple…. OH NO, I’VE SAID TOO MUCH! + now someone started a thread on jigging spoons, sheesh

Boat Positioning
Come south, the weather is fine You don’t have to shovel snow if you aren’t there
-
Boat Positioning
Yeah, that
-
Boat Positioning
I cannot know for sure, but I believe half of my problems fishing are caused by improper boat positioning and improper approach to that position. A lot of the time, I won't even know my boat is positioned improperly.

tips on how to fish a reservoir after a big drawdown.
My home lake is over 16ft low and that’s not even the worst of what we had. In response to @Catt’s advice, I say “Yes!”
