  1. As suggested above practice practice etc. I would also suggest that you NOT set this system up the same as your 5'6" system. Different line, and lure ratings i'm sure.. Good Luck & Tight Lines
  2. Actually if it doesn't have Swedish Enginered (with the sheild) on them, IMPO it isn't ABU anymore..
  3. X2... Just remember to back off the drags and your good...

I agree 100% 24hrs should be good, with even the slowest curing finishes (ie Flex Coat Standard) ...
  5. How do you know the bearing pack went out. Just because it is turning in reverse doesn't necessiarly mean the pack is shot. Is the inner sleave cracked? Has the bearing pack lost pins? Has the packs frame broken pin holders? Those are the 3 main reasons for failure. You didn't happen to service the reel and grease the AR bearing? Those bearing packs get NO grease only a slight oil wipe. If the bearing pack hasn't been serviced then the old grease Garcia likes to put in them has gotten thick and could be the cause of the failure. If NOTA then get the reel serviced and find out for sure.... Just an old service techs .02¢ ... Good Luck & Tight Lines!
  6. Good Luck & Tight Lines!
  7. Next time you open it up look at all the nylon gears. You could have blown some teath out on an idler gear... If not then send it in for proper service..... Good Luck & Tight Lines!
  8. They don't sell JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) reels...
  9. Hey oldschoolbasser who does the service on them? Tight Lines!
  10. Super tuning a baitcaster will do nothing unless you can absolutely free spool your reel. If you use brakes whether magnetic or centrifugal all it will do is make you turn your brakes up more. Sounds better, might feel smoother, but no distance gain........ Are you kidding? Been super tunning since the very first article came out in the 90's, thousands of super tunned reels under my belt and no complaints just smiles...
  11. X2.. Need extra drag try learning how to feather...
  12. Not a gimmick, just stay out and do basic outer maintenance. Let the complete brake downs be done by a pro..
  13. X2 From the website: SuperCaster reels are manufactured to comply with strict U.S. Reel specifications and quality control standards in China. I would like to know what the U.S. Reel spec & QC standards are....All of the reels MFG's I see are from the asian countries so what US spec are they talking about... Tight Lines!
  14. X2 Power Hand Casting.... I also use my dominate hand (RH) to hookset, fight, and land. LH to crank, no wasted time on system passover to the other hand. I also agree that the market does show many do agree. But that doen't mean they use Power Hand Casting. Tight Lines!
  15. The truth about it all (spiral) Roberts Wrap, posted here in 03... http://rodbuilding.org/read.php?2,50190,50208
  16. X2 That was the problem we had with them. Insted of replacing the reel/s, they always wanted to send parts.. Their parts were wrong on shipping. Even if we got the numbers off of the schematic the dimwits sent the wrong ones...
  17. It all ways was a bass reel. You just needed convinced...
  18. They are shims that mount onto the spool axel. They adjust how much the spool osscilates in and out.. I would place all 3 on the axel, then start spooling line, if it lays to far to one side more than level, take 1 off. Usually the standard setup is 3. ... Good Luck & Tight Lines!
  19. I polish then lube the post for the idler with (1 drop) oil. The top teeth of the idler gear and the brass worm gear teeth get a small dab of Cal's. Done...
