Well, my spot-lock stinks
Call Minn Kota. I ordered a on board charger and upon installation one of the leads were bad. I called support and they sent me a replacement lead immediately. I was a bit upset, I wanted a new unit and when they sent me a survey on my call I let them know that. A month later, a random box shows up on my porch. It’s a new unit. No further contact or anything, just sent me a new unit. Give them a call, they’re there to help.

What do you like/dislike about your setup?
Two Garmin 73 echo map pluses, one on bow one on console. Love the touch screen and networking. I have side imaging on the console, down imaging up front but with the networking I can get the side imaging up front when I’m running the trolling motor. I wish the stock compass was better, hard to get a bearing where I’m moving towards in relation to way points and not interested in 400 bucks for an add on.

We haven't done this for a while
In college we were heavy into flag football, competing in several state and national tournaments. I bought a really nice pair of cleats but was too ignorant to admit they were too small, and tore my feet up. I would only play games in them, never practiced in them. We scrimmaged a team and they wouldn’t let me play without cleats on a muddy field. We played anyways and first play I split them for a touchdown. Some yelled No Shoes and it stuck. This was 2013ish, I still hear it when I go back to campus sometimes

Recessed Pedal Tray
I have an 08 tracker 175 tx. The rod locker goes dead middle under the pedal tray. It had 3 rod tubes across the top and an open area below it. I never used the tubes, but did lose them doing the pedal tray. The tray sits right where the tubes were, but I’d trade the tubes for the comfort all day.

Rapid Changes in Water Temp?
What strategies do you guys typically use in these situations? Good water clarity for this location (heavy stained cypress swamp), but water temp went from 60’s two weeks ago to 51 this morning. I’m in southeast GA, never knew our water even got that cold. I was committed to learning jigs, and spent a lot of time with a finesse dirty jig, but couldn’t get a bite. Towards the end I tried a t-rigged finesse worm. Place is pretty flat and featureless, but fished the only 7-8 ft structure it has and no joy there either. Just curious what strategies y’all would’ve put to work, might go back tomorrow.

Recessed Pedal Tray
For anyone on the fence on putting one in your rig, just do it. Ordered one Black Friday shopping and came in yesterday. Didn’t take but two hours to put in (mostly measuring, remeasuring, and waiting for liquid courage to settle in) and took it out this morning. I was having heavy back pain after 4 to 5 hours of fishing. Fished 7 to noon today with drastically better results. If I was a better fisherman and caught anything I wouldn’t have noticed my back at all. It made a world of difference. For anyone that needed to hear this lol.

What size fuel tank to buy?
My old boat was a 1448 with a 25 hp Yamaha. I used to fill up a 6 gallon tank and it last full weekend fishing trips. 3 days of fishing would be running on fumes.

GA Bass Slam.
Ive thought about it but in the Savannah area you’re making a good trip for most of the species in north GA. Of course large mouth is easy, and usually pick up a spot or too when I fish Clark’s Hill. Maybe next year I’ll go find a trip to hit the other three.

Best Reel for 125$
Only difference I can tell between my tatula and my 3 Fuegos is the wing T. And to be honest I can’t tell you whether I prefer it or prefer to not have it.

They would visit for the same reasons why any of us are on here. Makes perfect sense No one knows everything about every technique on everybody of water, but collectively the knowledge base of this site is as close as you can get.

TacticalBassin feels more like an infomercial. What I like about here is I know they aren’t making money off the advice they give.

Reel size for Ned rig...
I like 2500 on a higher gearing. A lot of exposed hook techniques I set the hook with the reel and snap my wrist rather than a normal home run swing hook set. The higher gearing helps catch up and set the hook, and spool size is at least some of the line take up.

Picking up a new football jig rod budget $350
I’ve been hooking up 15 lb tatsu as my leaders for everything but my finesse rod, I’m going to try a spool of 12 lb blue label to see if it makes a difference.

Dobyns 703c Finesse Jigs?
Just wanted to get yalls thoughts, I’m beginning in to jig fishing and purchased a 704c to throw 3/8 oz jigs. I’ve been gravitating towards finesse jigs and have been playing with dirty jigs 5/16 Finesse jigs and just ordered some Seibert Snipers in the same weight. My 703 is my main Texas rig rod, I love the way it casts the 1/2 oz total package lure weight (usually 1/4 oz weight and a trick worm). Does the 703 have enough power for the hook set in yalls opinion for these finesse jig presentations? I’d love to be able to throw the finesse jigs on that rod and throw the bigger jigs on my 704 (or 735).

How to be a better jig fisherman
My “practice” pond is full of small stunted bass. I’ve missed a few on jigs so far exactly with what you’re describing. They either don’t grab the whole jig or don’t have enough butt to pull back when I set the hook. I flipped to one poor soul from on top of a culvert yesterday. He bit about 5 feet from the bank and landed 5 feet behind me, I had to duck.

Upgrade kayak or move into a jon boat?
Kayak is one person rig. Get a 1448 jon boat with a good tiller steer and deck the front. Best of both worlds. I went from kayak, to 1448 jon, to 175 tracker within the year. I’d never consider going backwards.

The reasons I am a better jig fisherman
Ive caught another 4 or 5 on jigs since this thread kicked off and just want to thank everyone whose shared their knowledge. It’s much appreciated from those who still have a lot to learn.

Fishing is giving me anxiety
I’ve found I hate bank fishing with more than one combo, it hurts my mobility and always feel like I’m baby sitting the second combo if I bring one. My dobyns 703 does just about everything at least passably. I just bring it and 2 or 3 Planos to stay light on my feet. We also got hogs, gators, snakes, all the goodies here in south GA. So that plays a role as well.

60hp or 75hp, that is the question.
Redneck weight fluctuates based on whether the beer has been tapped into yet.

60hp or 75hp, that is the question.
I bought a tracker 175 tx over the summer with a 50 hp Mercury. I was worried I’d regret not holding out for a 75hp but it was too good a deal. It runs 30 mph with three 200 lb rednecks and fully loaded (gear, 3 batteries, gas). Planes out just fine. I fish a lot of electric only so the 50hp’s lighter weight is a blessing majority of the time. Just another data point of experiences for you to consider.

Response from Seaguar on Tatsu vs Blue Label
I’ve been using tatsu as a leader for months. Muuuuuch cheaper than blue label. Performed great.
