  1. That bass is giant. A picture doesn’t do that bass any justice. Most people have never seen a bass or replica of a bass that size. The bass pro near me has a replica of the Perry record bass up front, that thing could eat a baby.
  2. Thanks, I’ll probably give the silicone a shot. Don’t want anything overly permanent.
  3. After moving around the dividers to my liking, whenever I pick up a jig out of the posts the whole divider lifts up with it. Anyone experience this?
  4. Learn to fish deeper and off the bank. Learn a new trick other than a T-Rig, hopefully a square bill or chatter bait. Try to fish a few new bodies of water, maybe a a weekend trip to Florida (Rodman ain’t but 4 hours from me) 10 lber is always the mark. Best 5 was a hair under 30 this year all after June, try to break that this year.
  5. Right handed fish lefty. Never made sense to me to have my weak hand do the important stuff (set hook, hold the rod, detect bites).
  6. if you had both at your disposal, which would you throw 3/8 jigs on? I have both sitting on my deck but keep going back and forth?
  7. If I backlash my daiwas it’s on me, not the reel. Can’t say the same about my Abu that I keep trying to upgrade.
  8. Usually alternate between stages 2 and 3 until I don’t get jack and then I’m back to stage 1. I’m always in stage 4 and go to stage 5 if my wife’s in the boat lol ?
  9. the craw has no claws lol, I chuck when they are missing the important appendages lol.
  10. I’m too dang impatient to stay in one place without a bite that long, even though I do throw the high percentage baits for bigger bass. When you pull up to a spot, how long do you fish it before moving along? I when you say a spot, are you talking staying anchored up or drifting along one point or structure?
  11. 5 was my first impulse. Great catch!
  12. Wasn’t when we lived down the street, oops.
  13. Echoing the other guys. Put 12 lb big game on it, perfect to learn with. Braid is awesome but a backlash can take a reel out of commission for the trip.
  14. Decked out and fished out of a 1448 jon. Plenty stable, of course not as good as a bigger boat but did the job well.
  15. I did back in August. I’ll have to check to see if there’s been one since. Good idea!
  16. I actually don’t get those options. Chart setup doesn’t have the appearance option. Probably just need to call.
  17. Are you talking changing it all up for one missed fish? I’d let it prove itself a pattern before whole sale changes, everyone loses one every now and then, regardless of hook. For the record, I use EWG 3/0 99% of the time, no issues on hook up ratio when I don’t ham the hook set.
  18. I got two identical ones. 703 dobyns with 8:1 Fuegos. I used one so often I got another one and have them rigged slightly different depending on the day.
  19. were all knuckle heads that backlash. Backlash doesn’t have anything to do with the line test though.
  20. First fish I caught on my own was probably a 1 lb largemouth. Caught on a cheap Zebco spinning combo that the bail slammed shut mid cast all the time. Used a Carolina rigged June bug lizard, the line got heavy and thought I was caught up before the fish showed up. Didn’t even fight.
  21. lol same here. Back lashes are on the knuckle head holding the reel.
  22. Tried a new place today and they were on the jig. Nice 5 lb chunk bringing my best 5 for the year right under 30 lb. Only had one other bass and a couple of big pickerel, but a big one makes it worth it.
  23. Any neighborhood pond in Florida will have some fish in it. Ronnie Van Zant park has a big pond stocked in the back all bank accessible.
