  1. If I think fish will bite, I’ll fish in anything but high wind. And in South Georgia, that’s anything above 7-8 mph. yes, I know that’s wimpy compared to most areas.
  2. I think it was Denny brauer saying he didn’t know what a bite felt like, but knew what it didn’t feel like.
  3. My biggest ones always have the lightest bite. When I think about it after I’m not sure what made me set the hook.
  4. What are y’all doing for senkos in black water? Worth even throwing? I’ve tried black and GP in my local hole and only the gar and pickerel seem to enjoy.
  5. June bug or black Ol monsters work well for me in these same conditions.
  6. Summer is my best time of year. Water temps get near 90 here. Bigger baits get bit more.
  7. you and me both. Good outing for me is a limit.
  8. maybe I just need to pop a shallow spool on my daiwa ?
  9. Interesting for the back lashers like me!
  10. If you wait until the last minute, it only takes a minute.
  11. if you catch them like that hell I’d save them for those kind of pics too! Nobody wants to see my 5 lber next to a dink lol.
  12. My fortrex has some bend but nothing like that.
  13. Can you really check for fish with sonar though if your fishing shallow? Seems like going over them would only be a very narrow beam of sonar and probably spook them.
  14. CPR meaning catch, photo, release?
  15. ive done this before, and found plenty of offshore logs and stumps that had fish on them, but can never seem to be able to come back and hit them with a lure. Frustrating.
  16. I fish shallow so much I check things by fishing it. Probably why I don’t catch as much as these other guys on here.
  17. Only reason I wanted a live well in my boat was to be able to put a monster one (if I ever caught one) to get my bearings together to weigh/measure the fish for a mount. Even with that in mind, I can’t help but wonder if I have a partner with me that the fish wouldn’t be better off in the net off the side of the boat still in the water. If eating them isn’t a possibility for the night, they go straight back.
  18. always wanted to fish there and live down the road near Savannah, may look y’all up
  19. Just used my 703 to catch a 7 lber on a 10” Ol monster on a 1/4 t-rig this evening
  20. I love my dobyns 703 fury, actually got 2. Very versatile, I use one for my t-rigs and the other as a Swiss Army knife. Perfect for a 1/4 oz and most plastics, but can be a bit overloaded past that.
  21. My biggest couple bass came from a cypress swamp where it’s nothing but cover to break off on. After the initial hook set and surge I bump my trolling motor out of the cypress fields into open water where it’s a fair fight. I saw one poor soul in a kayak getting tugged around the cypress by an 8 lber. Every cypress this time of year is covered in hornets nests. It’s a miracle he didn’t get ate up with all the trees he ran into and line hung up on. He got the fish though!
  22. Metabolism is related to water temp right? Hot water means they got to eat, feed em.
