Our grocery store card currently has a discount of $2.00 per gallon, up to 30 gallons, which makes the gas......FREE! However, we overpay on the groceries on a lot of items if we're not careful. No such thing as a free lunch.

Rage Anaconda Strikes New All-Time Heavyweight Record
Nobody locally carries them so it's a moot point for me. Nobody carries 6/0 hooks around here either. In fact, I was at Cabelas in WV about a month ago, I couldn't find them there either, unless I just missed them. :-?

Baitcast Rod's Line Weight Question
Along those same lines, using braid on some rods would fall outside the suggested parameters on both ends. For instance, 50# braid on a rod rated for 15 to 30 pound line would have a breaking strength greater than the rod is rated for and a diameter less than or about where the rod is rated (15# min). Is this an issue? I know the higher breaking strength would probably be the greater concern.

Yeah, I didn't even know I had relatives in Nigeria! ;D- Savage-Gear swimbaits
Has anybody heard of or used these baits? Cabela's has the 4-play lip lure listed as new for 2009. I checked the website video. They seem to have nice action. The price doesn't seem too bad, but has anyone used them?- When law enforcement goes too far...
From what I know, you must have a permit for concealed carry. There is nothing specifically written in the law in PA as to whether open carry is legal or not. Therefore, since not specifically prohibited, open carry is legal, except in Philadelphia where a permit is required for either.- The Stock Thread
These precedents were set long ago. The last time was the last bailout of the auto manufacturers and that is only one example. Oh I agree. I said for years they have been taking power that wasn't theirs. As for Chrysler, in the 80's, I know it was a loan from the gov't to Chrysler. Technically it was probably a bailout. However, in an effort to show good faith, Iacocca took no salary but based his compensation on stock value should the company recover. Still, if you ask me if the government should have loaned Chrysler the money, my answer would still be no.- The Stock Thread
I'm sorry but I feel the government has absolutely no business using taxpayer dollars for any bailout of any company for any reason. Companies fail all the time and if the ones currently in the news can't be managed any better than they are, close. Maybe stockholders should demand greater accountibility from the CEO's rather than putting taxpayers on the hook. There is nothing in the U.S. Constitution that gives the federal government any authority to do what they are doing. We have set some very dangerous precedents here to save some badly mismanaged companies with no repercussions on the part of management. I understand the politicians politically expedient desire to save the companies and thus the country, although I don't believe the politicians are in it for any other reason other than to garner more power and control. I don't entirely blame companies and banks for their problems because the government is partly to blame for constantly changing the rules of the game and implementing new regulations which make it very difficult, if not impossible, in some cases, to conduct business. The Constitution limits the power of the Federal government by specifically stating that the powers not specifically outlined in the Constitution are reserved for the States. For years, Congress has usurped power that wasn't theirs and are continuing to do so now. Just my humble opinion and I now return the soapbox to someone else BTW, just to put in perspective, how much $7 trillion is. The height of a stack of 1,000, $1,000 bills (1 million dollars) is 4.3 inches in height. The height of a stack of $1,000 bills totaling 7 trillion dollars is over 475 miles high. Not exactly chump change.- The Stock Thread

I think you'll find that some senators do NOT always know what they are talking about. I don't think ANY of them know what they're talking about, EVER!- Headline News!
I can't believe the automakers actually want to go into "partnership" with the government. The automakers really ought to be saying to the gov't, "get off our backs and let us do what we do best" IMHO, gov't isn't the solution, its the problem, in more than just the auto industry. Of course, I've seen some of the new designs that have been dreamed up. Someone had too many anchovy pizzas and pickles before they went to bed. Small wonder they don't sell. ;D- Oil Prices Plunge!
Lucky bugger. Still 2.19 here. 30 cents cheaper across the line in Ohio. But, I can save $2.80 a gallon, up to 30 gallons, with my grocery store discount- Gun History
My bro-in-law sent this to me today. Worth forwarding to all freedom loving and concerned Americans. A LITTLE GUN HISTORY In 1929, the Soviet Union established gun control. From 1929 to 1953, about 20 million dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated. ------------------------------ In 1911, Turkey established gun control. From 1915 to 1917, 1.5 million Armenians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated. ------------------------------ Germany established gun control in 1938 and from 1939 to 1945, a total of 13 million Jews and others who were unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated. ------------------------------ China established gun control in 1935. From 1948 to 1952, 2 0 million political d issidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated ------------------------------ Guatemala established gun control in 1964. From 1964 to 1981, 100,000 Mayan Indians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated. ---- ------------- ------------- Uganda established gun control in 1970. From 1971 to 1979, 300,000 Christians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated. ------------------------------ Cambodia established gun control in 1956. From 1975 to 1977, one million educated' people, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated. ----------------------------- Defenseless people rounded up and exterminated in the 20th Century because of gun control: 56 million. ------------------------------ It has now been 12 months since gun owners in Australia were forced by new law to surrender 640,381 personal firearms to be destroyed by their own Government, a program costing Australia taxpayers more than $500 million dollars. The first year results are now in: List of 7 items: Australia-wide, homicides are up 3.2 percent Australia-wide, assaults are up 8.6 percent Australia-wide, armed robberies are up 44 percent (yes, 44 percent)! In the state of Victoria alone, homicides with firearms are now up 300 percent. Note that while the law-abiding citizens turned them in, the criminals did not, and criminals still possess their guns! While figures over the previous 25 years showed a steady de crease in armed robbery with firearms, this has changed drastically upward in the past 12 months, since criminals now are guaranteed that their prey is unarmed. There has also been a dramatic increase in break-ins and assaults of the ELDERLY. Australian politicians are at a loss to explain how public safety has decreased, after such monumental effort, and expense was expended in successfully ridding Australian society of guns The Australian experience and the other historical facts above prove it. You won't see this datum on the US evening news, or hear politicians disseminating this information. Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property and, yes, gun-control laws adversely affect only the law-abiding citizens. Take note my fellow Americans, before it's too late! The next time someone talks in favor of gun control, please remind them of this history less on. With guns, we are 'citizens'. Without them, we are 'subjects'. During WWII the Japanese decided not to invade America because they knew most Americans were ARMED! If you value your freedom, Please spread this anti-gun control message to all of your friends. The purpose of fighting is to win. There is no possible victory in defense. The sword is more important than the shield, and skill is more important than either. The final weapon is the brain. All else is supplemental. As John Steinbeck once said: 1. Don't pick a fight with an old man. If he is too old to fight, he'll just kill you. 2. If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck. 3. I carry a gun because a cop is too heavy. 4. W hen seconds count, the cops are just minutes away. 5. A reporter did a human-interest piece on the Texas Rangers. The reporter recognized the Colt Model 1911 the Ranger was carrying and asked him 'Why do you carry a 45?' The Ranger responded, 'Because they don't make a 46.' 6. An armed man will kill an unarmed man with monotonous regularity. 7. The old sheriff was attending an awards dinner when a lady commented on his wearing his sidearm. 'Sheriff, I see you have your pistol. Are you expecting trouble?' 'No Ma'am. If I were expecting trouble, I would have brought my rifle.' 8. Beware the man who only has one gun. HE PROBABLY KNOWS HOW TO USE IT!!! But wait, there's more! I was once asked by a lady visiting if I had a gun in the house. I said I did. She said 'Well I certainly hope it isn't loaded!' To which I said, 'Of course it is loaded, can't work without bullets!' She then asked, 'Are you that afraid of someone evil coming into your house?' My reply was, 'No, not at all. I am not afraid of the house catching fire either, but I have fire extinguishers around, and they are all loaded too.' To which I'll add, having a gun in the house that isn't loaded is like having a car in the garage without gas in the tank. I'm a firm believer of the 2nd Amendment! If you are too, please forward- Need small appliance help please.
Check the thermal fuses. Make sure you have continuity.- MUDDY VS PESKY WINDOW TELEMARKETER
Terrific conversation Muddy. I usually don't get that involved with them. When they ask for me I tell them I'm not here or I say just a minute and put the phone down and go about my business. After a couple of minutes, they're gone. Have you ever heard of the conversation where the homeowner made the telemarketer believe he had just called a number at which location there had been a murder? The homeowner pretended to be a police detective and began to grill an increasingly nervous telemarketer about how well he had known the victim, what was his reason for calling at this time, etc. Absolutely priceless. Someday I'm going to try it. I found a link to it. I didn't realize it was Tom Mabe referred to in a previous post. Still funny! http://www.boreme.com/boreme/funny-2006/telemarketer-prank-p1.php - Scam warning!
