  1. Virtually any M or MH casting rod I feel like tying a Senko to.
  2. A 2 soon to be 3 year old should really just get a "Spiderman" rod.
  3. Absolutely no reason not to throw a 1/2 oz 110 on casting gear. 10lb line.
  4. I took the reel off and tightened it all the way and it has that gap. I think it must be normal.
  5. Sorry, I'm a Dobyns guy who just got an Expride and a Zodias. I have this Expride paired with an SLX XT and went "huh" when I barely had to twist the nut to lock the reel in, and left it at that. Last night I noticed that there's a huge gap/crater as if the reel barely fits. Is this normal for the rod?
  6. I've already ditched spinning gear all together. I had been preparing to do so for a few seasons before finally getting it done.
  7. I had my Expride out yesterday. Liked it so much I ordered the 6'10" Medium Zodias for my lipless cranks and jerkbaits. I'm sure it will be great too. ? (This happens every time I think I just want "one more rod for X"... Turns into multiple rods...)
  8. How to say you're a scammer without saying you're a scammer
  9. I'm a 3 season angler usually, but with the warmer Winters of recent years I've been able to get out some in the Winter. I've had some killer Winter days, but more bad than good, and it's not fun to fish in the Winter in the North. So usually I'm Spring, Summer, and Fall. Of those, Spring is the worst for me. I voted Winter though.
  10. Thanks for the info. I have the rod and was checking to make sure it's what I actually wanted for this purpose. I feel good about it. I'm mostly throwing spinnerbaits, jigs, Senkos, lipless crankbaits, and soft and hard jerkbaits when I'm beating the banks. I do not subscribe to the 3-4 combos train of thought when I hit the banks. Been there, done that, and I catch less fish. It's a hassle. If I can make a standard 4 power Dobyns fish a 110 and land 'em then I'm sure this rod can do everything for me as well.
  11. They're like a woman seeing something shiney. Ohhhhh it wiggles.
  12. Senkos are literally shaped like cigars. End of story.
  13. Fish The Moment is largely educational and he spends a lot of time on looking for fish in his videos. If you just followed FTM and Tactical Bassin' you'd be in great shape and wouldn't deal with any of the BS of most of the other channels.
  14. Can anyone tell me about this rod? I've been on kind of a rollercoaster of a ride in pursuit of a new bank fishing rod. At first I was highly considering a 2 piece rod for the task, particularly a Mojo Bass, but I couldn't shake my skepticism of 2 piece rods. I decided I would go to the rod shop and let my Dobyns fanboyism take over. They didn't have anything in stock in the Champ XP or Extreme lines that fit the bill, so we were going to drop ship when I saw the Expride stand. I was looking at the 6'10" and 7'2" MH/F models. The employee has both rods and told me for my intended purposes that he would choose the 610MHF. Can anyone else tell me about this rod? I know the Expride line is very popular, but I hardly ever stray from Dobyns. This was definitely purchased on a whim due to my impatience.
  15. The amount of times I've seen the use and potential use of guns talked about in regards to simply fishing is disturbing. It's even happened here several times since I've been here, usually involving trespassing. Like imagine taking a life because someone walked through your property to get down to a bank to fish. That land you'd kill for won't matter much in prison.

  19. Sometimes it's because we're all different. Sometimes it's because when something is mass produced, quality control takes a hit. One person will get the product as intended and love it, and another person will get a defective product and hate it. Remember, most people who are happy with what they got do not bother to leave a review, but people who are displeased are all too happy to run to leave a review. And sometimes it's because some people and some companies will literally pay for good reviews, so you'll have fake reviews (the good) mixed with real reviews (the bad).
  20. Agreed. But he's saying he can't compete, meaning the other guys are catching and he isn't. The problem can be any number of things we don't have any information on.
  21. How is it? I'm not a 2 pc. guy but I'm looking into getting one for mobility in certain situations. Are there any other 2 pc. rods in the $150-$200 range?
  22. I've never used 7 in Senkos, but being in the Great Lakes region I suppose that's to be expected. One of my top 5 LMB came on a 4 in Senko 5 ish years ago. I like 4 in better than 5 in, but both are staples for me.
  23. You didn't do anything wrong. You're fishing almost freezing water. Just because it's nice to you (air temp) doesn't mean it's nice to them (water temp). Expect better results in a month. If you insist on fishing that water right now, jerkbaits, lipless crankbaits, and ned rigs until you start picking up a few.
  24. He sometimes gets out of the yak and stands right up. He fishes shallow water. You'll hardly see it touch his waist. I wouldn't wear one in water like that either, even as an example to potential bonehead followers who should know better (not here to babysit yer life!).
