  1. i am seeing less and less of those super long giant rods at the beaches in NorCal. we have taken to using steelhead and salmon rods. way lighter, and not quite as long. mine is 9' and i can fling a 1oz weight a long way. i can feel and fight any fish from surf perch to a striper. i would have no issues taking it to a pier.
  2. i carry a flashlight and a knife in my "man-bag" 100% along with a bunch of other stuff i like to use. the Chopsticks were a Hail-Mary, and have become super useful. i forget a fork or spoon quite often, and not all is lost. i bought some cheapo (may or may not be) titanium sticks. the company is called KEITH titanium or something. they seem heavier than what titanium should be, but the added heft is what makes them great for me. super light ones would be annoying. you need the heft..and you need the grip. these have both. i love these things. i have yet to break them out at a restaurant, but i can if i wanted. hahha. cleaning them is a breeze. i just wipe them down with a anti bacterial wipe that i always have around me. just wanted to put this out there for the office people that bring leftovers for lunch. game changer. for me at least. i dont like plastic utensils for a host of reasons.
  3. there are no secret spots. secret "times" maybe. i am reluctant to send up any signals that spot A is on fire, before i can cast to it at least one more session without a bunch of hanger-ons.
  4. the most dangerrous knife is the one in the hands of a mugger. hahaha..
  5. I’ll never utter those words. I assume a fish needs to bite it to allow you find fish. At that point it’s just bait.
  6. I remember that kit the OP got. I’m surprised all the parts are there! Nice kit. I’m tiptoeing so I don’t wake my knife monkey. I went off the rails once. Yikes. I love nice knives ..
  7. Wow. You’re making me want to go try again. Thx.
  8. Totally stymied. I was making a lure racket. Spinner baits, squarebilks, chatter… total skunk. Oh well, at least there was zero wind. The water was like a smooth glass of choco-milk. It was still a blast to get out again.
  9. I actually thought about you….I threw a spinner bait half the day. Haha. Not even a sniff. Biggest takeaway, it’s the 4x4 of lures. It goes thru anything.
  10. Wind! It was blowing, and my feet never stopped moving kicking my kayak pedal drives. I’m so tired. it was like a brand new lake. It’s like 10 feet deeper now, and I don’t know where the fish went. 50 deg water, so I assumed they were pointed towards the shallows. I wasn’t. Completely wrong. But the shallows were confusing. 8 foot tall tules were completely submerged. I was fishing behind them. ‘’I managed a 5.2lb and 3 lb bass. We stayed all day so my friend wouldn’t skunk. He landed a 5 and we headed home. I’ll figure it out. I have all spring and summer. But the bass are like footballs. Fattest fish ever.
  11. pretty awesome. yea. i do clean the oven, but i do a half-A version. she went nuclear. and she said, next time she is tackling our fridge and freezer. dang...crazy talk!
  12. Wait,… people clean ovens? OMG. She got the oven sparkling!!
  13. Yup. It would be perfect for the CA delta. The tides sometimes flush me away. Just tying a knot, I look up and I don’t even recognize the area.

  18. i have run the calcs and this number would appear accurate. i want one for my kayak, but i balked at the price.
  19. my friend did well with smaller jerkbaits. he killed them.
  20. my wife hired a housekeeper service!!! to be clear, i am "cinderrella". i think i do a pretty good job, but apparently, my wife wants a pro. hahah..i am all over it. she starts today. what was interesting, my wife has been tidying up all week. i guess she doesnt want the lady to think we live like savages. hahahhah..i have not met her yet. looks like i will have EVEN MORE fishing time.
  21. i have to retrofit a bridge soon. it is caked with bat poo. i thought about fertilizers but nah...i have enough sinus problems. my tomatos are plenty delicious. i did try to grow some smokables, and i kinda went nuts on fertilizers. it was a rabbit hole of info. i dont even smoke!! again, sinuses. but it was fun and interesting.
  22. Not sure I understand the question. it depends on the individual for sure. But a two handed lob isn’t bad. I surf fish this way. or are you asking where …. Not sure what you are asking.
  23. i am 99% sure Glenn showed me the Dropshot. this was before i found this group of enablers.
