  1. I put them in the garbage. followed by a brief moment of silence before I log in to TW
  2. .....pick a great WATERMELON!! summer is good bass fishing, and sweet watermelon!! what's your go-to tip? ME. I chose one with the biggest yellow spot that indicates it has been growing on the vine the longest. and I also pick it up and it should feel heavy for it's size. sadly, I am 50:50. I have picked a few duds this year. how do you do it?!!
  3. Me either. I’m 2.5 bags in and bite-less. Zero.
  4. early afternoon, October, cold air, cold water. the most ridiculous giant crank bait. chartruese. I then bested it by a pound with a 7.2. orangy-red 5" Senko Wacky, again, early afternoon. summertime.
  5. I was chewed up!! I keep covered up fishing. but when I was switching to shorts at shore for the drive home, they found me. it was a Darth-Baiter Mosquito buffet banquet. mostly the back of the legs. hahah.. I am fairly okay with them except when I absent-mindedly scratch one. then GAME OVER. it will itch incessantly. the single best thing I brought back from my travels to SE-Asia was some over the counter anti-itch cream. they don't have the same rigorous FDA rules over there and I brought back an anti itch cream that is only prescription here in the states. I got eating by sand fleas over there and the pharmacist took one look and handed me a tube. relief was dang near instantaneous. I went back and bought another tube. winter fishing does have it's charms.
  6. I plant this kumquat tree. I painstakingly love on it for 3 or 4 years. fertilizer, water, etc. I think I have spoken to it. today was harvest day!!! tada!! 3 fruit. wow..:D
  7. I've been guilty of some charges. thanks for the slap on the back of the head. we can all be better I imagine. youtube guys. it is amazing how most people will toss a dink nonchalantly back into the water from standing height. (shore, boat, whatever), but if it is a giant, they all do that drop to one knee, lower fish in the water and do that gentle push off to get that initial gust of water across the gills. hahaha..even my favorite youtuber is guilty of it.
  8. the Z-drop worm is my confidence bait by a mile. I've used it in a myriad of ways. (I caught a tank once fishing it as a tiny tex-rig) its a great small worm. for drop shot I only fish green pumpkin and a pink/purple worm. those two colors only. I really want to try the Z-drop worm in Morning dawn. it isn't even shown on their website anymore. I wondered if it is discontinued now, and asked them that question. I emailed them for the skinny. I did find 3 bags on Ebay, and figured a $20 bill is worth the risk to see if that color works on my local bass population. right now I use the 4.5" straight worm from Roboworm in Morning Dawn with or without flake and it is producing acceptable results. but I kinda think the z-drop just undulates better and more seductively underwater. I have dropped them both in the shallows and observed with my very human eyes, and came to this conclusion. how a bass sees this, is anyone's guess. lets see if my ebay bags show up, or I have to file a claim :D. whatever. my two worms exclusively for the drop-shot: Z-drop in green pumpkin Roboworm 4.5 straight in Morning dawn. MM3 if they are out.
  9. if anyone has a bag or two of Zoom Z-Drop worms in Morning Dawn..we need to talk!!
  10. I have a friend that says, “I have a cold beer and a hot wife at home. I’m getting home before either one reaches room temperature “.
  11. great insights. if it got bad, I would release all my gear into the deep waters. me > gear.
  12. never saw Blue Oyster cult!!! wow.
  13. When iwas younger I would creep in low, stay farther back, and cast to them. Beyond them.
  14. i am fishing on a bass boat saturday. he texted for me to pick him up at 4:30. it is a two hour drive to his house. argh!!! his boat, his timeline.
  15. i blame my hearing (or lack of) on a Metallica concert. maybe Gun/Roses. i love the stuff of my youth. i do however wish i had the foresight to stuff hearing plugs in my ears. i remember concerts being very inexpensive. but the cost to my hearing might not be worth the cost of admission. i didnt do myself any favors.
  16. or ask for a ride to the airport. Randy, if i lived near you i'd join your group for sure.!
  17. i am not great at first light. my depth perception sucks in very low light and i am scared to cast towards weeds. having said that, when i was younger at first light ripping across a smooth lake, with a purple sky overhead was dang near magical. it is the most beautiful time of day on the water.
  18. yea. like all things, this too shall pass. be patient.
  19. interesting topic. for me: as i have gotten older, i strangly find myself having to work harder to make friends. i stay friendly, but a deeper friendship isnt that easy. i have some great friends, and despite long periods between interaction, we immediately pick up right where we left off. \ but yea. i have a couple of coworkers that have been elevated to friend. at least by me. how they feel about me is unknown. haha..
  20. my zipper is always down. i always cast out a worm when i have to take a leak. its a passive way to get a fish. i do my thing, and i am always anxious to grab that fishing rod. (i almost just said, "rod" which would have opened the door....) i dont bury that zipper to the top. so inadventently while moving around it works it way to "ahem, your barn door is open". the drive home at the soda shop can be awkward. :D. sorry i dont have a serious answer, but this is at least kinda truthful.
  21. i hit my hardware store for exactly this. i found a rack of indivdually packed o-rings. they were like $2.99 each. hahha.. i backed away slowly.
  22. i still read. but nothing life altering. i still read action and detective novels. it kills time. i can mow through a book traveling. airports, airplanes, hotels. i love books for that. i get an absolute kick out of coming across some word i am not familiar with. or a quote. i will pick up a phone and google it to learn more. take "Carpe Diem". people used to throw it around all the time. there is actually more to the statement. it's actually a good quote. i read it in some Jack Reacher book i think.
  23. Me? i do it all wrong. Dobyns Sierra 734. my line is 14lb flouro which i think is too light. on my far casts it's not ideal to jam those hooks home. but i somehow get it done. i dont want to own too many rods. it causes me some anxiety. it's weird, i know.
  24. i hestitate to call anything "the best" (or "the worst"), but these four certainly wont hurt life. i used to read anything i could get my hands on. made me a better writer for sure, but it would also let me dip from a bigger vocabulary to make me seem smarter. hahah.. when was the last time you took out pen/paper and wrote someone a letter? it is a perishable skill for sure.
  25. not bait/lures, but i just bought way too many of those Shin Fukae, Neko hooks. its' go time with the more weedless neko presentation. we were killing winter bass with the presentation, but getting hung up quite often.
