  2. the dude is a merman. he told me what model boat it is and he said it is a sick seaworthy boat. dunno.
  3. I thought about this reel for a punch rig. but I seriously dont know how to match gear to techniques. haha.
  4. I think he said 22feet.
  5. you tow your kayak with a Mini Cooper?! sick!!! I love it.
  6. awesome!!! great vette bud. is yours a stick shift? (I dont know much about the newer cars)
  7. gross. my buddy wants me to fly down to San Diego to meet up with him for some Tuna fishing. sounds like a blast!!! but his boat is tiny! my stomach rolls just thinking about it. I have a prescription for those patches I put behind my ear at the ready. my doctor swears they are effective as heck. I've been in rollers on a lake in my kayak and I dont puke, but there is something about the deepass ocean that just makes me toss my cookies. you?
  8. big cajones putting your whip up right after the Vette! hahahah..awesome. and on an adult note: "paid for" is the best thing EVER! I havent had a car payment since 2008. not sure I could stomach one now...gross.
  9. i took a bigger bass once and it had 5 senkos in various stages of rot packed in its mouth. full irony, that i caught the greedy fish on yet another senko. my friend and i pulled them out, one was halfway down the hole. we let it go as fast as we could. i never put a used plastic in the water after seeing that. i stuff them anywhere i can for disposal later.
  10. mine is magical. kinda rough and ugly now, but it is magic. mine is a 4x4 2006 Toyota Tacoma. i have been all over the western USA with it doing things like elk hunts, fishing, road trips. i have never had car over 100,000 miles but this one is approaching 225,000. it gets crap MPG. especially for a smaller truck. but it gets me and my kayak everywhere i want to go. it runs smooth as the day i bought it used with 32,000 on the ODO. the MPG is acceptable because my wife got an EV. love em or hate em, i do enjoy going to the gas station 50%. there is only really a few vehicles that will make me move on to the next one. a 2024 Tacoma might be a player. they are coming out with a Hybrid and EV!!! what???!!! this is the first real vehicle that i truly LOVED. i love this thing.
  11. okay. if i caught a giant bass, sure i would have taken a pic. no doubt. but the garden variety bass in the 2 - 4 lb range, it was kinda nice to get it, laugh in glee, unhook and put the fish back ASAP. some of the smaller ones i didnt even announce to my boat-mate. the splash might alert him, but beyond that i put the fish back without showing it to him. i have a LOT of bass pics. way more than pics of my lovely wife. hahaha.. and my dog. no pics of my dog that i also LOVE. i think i am gonna taper off my bass pics. it's getting ridiculous. i need a datum, a point where a fish is photo worthy. what is your go/no-go to picture taking? my bud did say, "you should take a pic of your first legit punch bass". nah, i let it go. it was shy of 3lbs. 4lb+ i might take a pic..or it is unusual. not entirely true. i accidentally took a pic of my face while texting my wife.
  12. i'd fish the spawn in Dec-Jan.
  13. grrrr...i have 6 more years. grrrr.. i'll be plenty busy when i retire. i will learn new things. a language, piano..something to keep my gray matter gray.
  14. ^^^^ i'm with this guy. i think the first question is: does your kayak have a dedicated tranducer mounting point?
  15. not Bass Forecast. i quit using it. kinda useless. i use Navionics, and some tides things.
  16. my cat uses the collar. my dog, eats some thing. one for tick/fleas..one for heartworm. he loves them. weird dog. we have no issues.
  17. what toad is that? that is pretty slender. EDIT. zoom toad. got it.
  18. the winds die down starting fall. i love it. i seem to fish fine.
  19. if you can pick up a big bag of dog food, you can move a pro-angler around on wheels and get it into a truck bed. I'm a regular guy and I can load my buddies pro angler. I have. his truck is lifted as well.
  20. Why? what have you heard?!! if you heard it's more than $100, it's all lies. lies!!
  21. trolling? my friend catches a lot of bass that way. back to the OP. I do a side jerk. and its a bigger single jerk with a longer pause usually.
  22. haahha..funny!! just yesterday i was pouring over google earth pictures of some secret far away place i wanted to take my kayak. i LOVE that distance calculator on google earth!! it is the greatest tool. you can get a very good estimate on how far a place is from your kayak launch. i calc'd out 5.2 miles. woof!! that is my upper limit for sure. it takes mental fortitude to put into water and just start hauling arse 5 miles. to date i cant do it. i always stop to fish a spot.!! this is purely a kayaker problem. distance. i LOVE the addtional challenges. you have to fish smart, use maps, study winds and currents. i love it. boat guys dont have this challenge at all. well, maybe if they run low on fuel now if i had a buddy with a pontoon boat that could drop me off...............
  23. several years ago, i thought i was depressed. my doc sent me to group therapy to talk things out. i went for a month as prescribe. i promised my wife to take it seriously, so i did. after a month, my doc called and asked if i went to every session. i did. she asked what my takeaway was. "i guess i am not depressed". she said, "yup". i had no idea what true depression is. my heart goes out for those that suffer it. i learned more in that month than i have in a long time. i learned an appreciation. i'll know it if i see it. i do know to not believe everything i think. i wish all those that do suffer from it the best.
  24. my Lowrance Hook5 reveal will map that lake of yours. i played around with it and it seemed straight forward. there is some computer work involved if i understand it correctly.
  25. i am pretty sure a non fishing Male would have the same thought. it isnt gender specific. she only spoke up because she is in your life. your purchases do affect her even if it is miniscule. i'm Cinderella in my house, which buy me a lot of latitude.
