Bullet Weights Over 1/4oz?
I am not so much pitching. (I pitch plenty tho) for my lightweight stuff, 1/8th weights plus creature or worm; I am casting. I like to stay away on my kayak, which is super stealthy to begin with, and casting from a longer distance. I (right or wrong) think the bass dont know I am there and I have better success. in clear water, it is super rare that I catch a bass I have seen. I think it has seen me, already. I cast to targets. submerged stumps, weed-lines, you name it.. I prefer to throw the bait a distance. I can underhand toss a bait under a canopy to the water's edge if needed.

What’s going to kill all of the bass next?

i killed on the brake/reaction test thing. i remember i angled my foot so i was poised to simply flip my ankle to hit the brake. i didnt lift my foot and move it like other people. i was superhuman, until the instructor noticed what i was doing. heel/toe. however, i feel this is a bad comparision. well, maybe it is the perfect comparision for a frog bite where it is all visual. you see the blowup, you strike. haha. but bottom contact, bad comparision because it is all tactile. the rod makes the difference.

Help with a Medium Heavy / Fast Rod
I love my Furies, but I am moving away from them for my own reasons. I have the most fish taken on my 733 to date. I own the spinning version, but my friend has the casting. Phenix Max-73H or something. it is an awesome rod. same money, kinda ugly if you dont love camo color. you dudes with camo-bedsheets and couches will love them. he loaned me the casting once when I buggered up my reel on a hike in fish trip. he carried two rods, I carried one. it is pretty fantastic and made me question the Fury. hahah..

Anyone use a knot puller?
nope. I have enough stuff on my kayak. on big fishing days, I will tape a few spots on my hands with Leukatape. I see ocean guys using them, but I dont see the need at my magnitude of fishing. those guys put their backs into the knots.

To the guys on kayaks with fish finders?
me and my kayak have a strange gravitational pull to jet skis.

Bullet Weights Over 1/4oz?
My favorite! I love going into a snag. I freeze and ease line in…slow. If it moves without my input? Hammer time! Sometimes just stop. Wait. Wait for the fish to send you a note. I learned this from a Mexican fishing guide who didn’t know a single word in English. Thank goodness Mr Gonzales my Spanish teacher taught me more than asking “where is the library”. we would cast into branches. Everything felt like a tap of a bass. I get the tap….wait.. wait. You’ll feel it if it is a fish very quickly. If not, you haven’t buried the hook into something woody, and can jiggle it thru.

Megabass P5 Windbuster
A dude on the YouTube says a 3000 balances better on a Windbuster, but I just like 2500 series.

SC rod locking nut
You’re knocking the sleeve over the nut off? I did that and had to super glue it.

One of my best inexpensive things added to my kayak.
You have to clip in the fish on the lower jaw up front where the jaw bone meets with those bones radiating away. No way a fish gets loose. The clip doesn’t need to be that strong. It’s nit trying to open the jaws. Just pull thru them which is impossible. Here.

I don’t disagree. And this is my system.

Bullet Weights Over 1/4oz?
@Drawdown I get it. I watch my line like a hawk. and I bought a REALLY good rod. if you asked me what the bite felt like, I probably can't describe anything except the hard thumps. the rest are so sublime. but feel it. I find the fish seem to hold the bait long enough for my next "hop". which is great because I need no slack for the hookset.

Weightless baitcaster settings
if I had to guess, a 5" Yama Senko is about 3/8th oz..and with the hook, I choose a heavier wire hook to beef up the mass. 3/8th+ isn't anything unusual for a good bait cast reel on the right rod.

Bullet Weights Over 1/4oz?
I'm full of patience when I am waiting for a bait to sink. I think fish bite on the drop, mostly for me. I use 1/8th most times, and sometimes even go less. I think the bait undulates better when it drops slowly, versus being stretched out on a faster drop. I have heavier weights that I use when the current washes my bait to and fro.
