  1. It’s the DONKEY LEASH. it takes a regular sized bass to get my adrenaline up. A whopper? Forget it. If I hook up a decent fish I want to photograph this tool is an essential item for me. It allows me to secure my fish and let it swim beneath my kayak while I gather myself. The tiny clip is robust enough. It feels whimsical, but it’s strong. I’ve lost one fish, and that’s because I clipped it on the corner of the mouth. It slipped free. If you clip it in the front, in the bony area, it won’t come off. If anything, sometimes it’s a fumble to remove. It’s like I wished the jaws opened up wider. I’ve never clipped a double digit so I don’t know how big the bones get. I aim to try. I secure my rod, get camera ready, or scale , or measure-board, bring in fish - do my thing and let it go. Last Christmas, I gave them to my friends as gifts. We love them. They sell the clip separately, and I changed out the hook on my scale with it. I hate those hooks on scales. just a thought.
  2. I’m buying new stylish fishing shirts so my photos look good. I’m all in. I don’t frighten easily. That’s partially because I take precautions. i’n not even checking in luggage. Going light on clothing, heavy on anticipation.
  3. i just got back from visiting her in the hospital. her nurse is so good looking!! i think my jaw hit the floor. hahahha... i have been paid back. we are even.
  4. here's why!!
  5. i have a 94 year old neighbor. she called me the other night as i was sliding under my bedsheets. i almost didnt pick up the phone!! anyways, i did and i could hear she was having trouble breathing and she said, "i feel bad". she asked for my nurse wife. we dressed quick and i have her house key so we made entry. we found her sweating crazy. it was dripping from her nose tip. she couldnt stand. she said she wants to vomit but cant. i said immediately. "heart-attack". i am not a big Roseanne Barr fan, but i remember her interview recounting her own cardiac event. i remember her symptoms were so different from a male event. we get usual suspects. my neighbor didnt have chest pains. we called 911, and had her chew an aspirin. she complied and the paramedics showed up so quick. i was suprised the guy was asking questions aimed at male symptoms. any chest pain? left arm pain? WHAT? i chimed in..(typical me). "dude, get her to hospital. it is a heart attack!" the paramedic being a total professional totally ignores me. hahah..rightly so. well, she is in the hospital yup. heart attack. i am caring for her cat, and the old lady uses NON-CLUMPING cat litter. the heck?! that stuff is gross. i cleaned it up and replaced it with our own litter. if i have to do this for a few days, i am not messing with subpar litter. keep in mind folks. a woman's heart attack is a very different event. lets watch out for each other. woman's event = sweating, shortness of breath, nausea, etc. maybe no pain at all. crazy.
  6. i'll let you know after tomorrow.
  7. yup. further from the kayak. increase the leverage the floats put on the boat. similar concept when the ice skater sucks in her arms to spin around faster. puts out her arms to slow down.
  8. i understand you are frustrated..but you dont have to be snarky. these people have been offering you advice from the get go. why are you using those bumpers? to protect the hull from docks, or add floatation to the edge of the kayak? sorry if you explained above and i missed, it but i think you zigged and i zagged...you lost me.
  9. there are cranks designed to hunt. i am working on a few. any day now!!
  10. i am not fishing cranks enough to find any standouts, plus i dont buy muliples of the same bait.
  11. Clean! all my chevys had a clear expiration date.
  12. The thread is gonna magically move to the tackle forum.
  13. X_ bites. 12lb sunline sniper.
  14. nope. my wife intercepted the FedEx dude. i was talking during an online meeting and couldnt move my feet fast enough after hearing the delivery truck. hahah. Japanese packaging > Domestic Packaging. it was stapled shut!! then taped. It’s casts really well. i almost have to keep buying Zillions in the hopes that my wife thinks it is the same reel over and over again, and not a new one. hahah
  15. okay, you enablers. i got my JDM Zillion 1000H. smooooothhhh. besides the instructions being in Japanese, i think this will work out fine. I'm in an online meeting right now, and they are asking me just enough quesitons that i cannot spool up my new toy.
  16. i LOVE humps, and yes i am still talking about fishing.
  17. i like larger tires for longer expeditions. if i lived closer, i would drive to South Carolina and grab a OTW trailer. zero doubt.
  18. Ford..no Chevy!..wait..what is the debate? ahhh...flouro or Braid. i am 90% straight Flouro on all my baitcasters. just how i roll. i for one, have never looked at my friends reels to see what line they are using. never asked either. i dont make anyones choice, so they dont make mine. only thing that hates my choice are the bass.
  19. took me a bit to realize all fish look the same on a fish finder for the most part.
  20. SO sick!!! that is outstanding. not sure if my invite got lost in the interwebs..but i am glad you got into them. i plan on driving my Hobie up there for Smallies one day. expect stupid questions.
  21. i agree. but the new trend of those GIANT worms coming out. 10 - 12" worms is daunting. i havent experiemented but my bud as a pack of worms that look like SNAKES. huge.
  22. the Titan isnt even out yet. any review would be pure speculation. my friends titan is so heavy, and slow as hell. he cant fight the wind or currents. it is sad and funny to watch him lanquish behind us Hobie-ers. i bet the Titan is hernia heavy. but speculation.
  23. @Fishing_Rod agreed 100%. i use a water bladder. an insulated Camelback. the insulation is about as effective as a sweater, but it holds ice for at least half the day. it is the way to drink water on the hottest days. mine is also a 3L. and i fill a stainless steel thermos with ice and fill the gaps with ice water. this i leave in the truck for the drive home. ice water to sip on the ride home is a welcomed delight. that way i dont tick orange juice looking pee at home.
  24. i dont know the details, but my brother made his very old boat look almost new with a product from Chemical Brothers.
  25. i ask because i dont know. "offshore" is that the correct term? we can find deep water right next to shore, right? the key trick is deep waters, no?
