  1. A little clear nail polish, or a dab of super glue wouldn’t hurt. I think that balsa bait might be a rapala OG tiny 4, similar to the little john and OG slim. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Rapala_Otts_Garage_Tiny_4_Crankbaits/descpage-ROG4.html
  2. lol, that’s like $150 in line alone
  3. I’m with Tom, go find some deeper water, if you can find brushpiles fish them too with a 10 inch worm. Of course I’ve never even been out of the US, so what do I know about fishing South Africa... lol
  4. Johnny Cash wrote a heckuva song, awesome to include Kyle Carpenter in the video. If you haven’t seen the video on Carpenter, check it out! One of the best video’s on youtube imo
  5. Sweet gift! Where are you headed? If you don’t have the right gear for the job/fishing you’re doing, it wouldn’t make a ton of sense to bring anything. I bet guides have some pretty good stuff too.
  6. Both are great in the pre spawn, cold water temps. The Rap is a spinning rod crankbait, while the wiggle wart is a baitcaster crankbait, better for power fishing. Wiggle water is kinda like a deep diving squarebill. Wiggle wart is better for more cover, bigger rocks or wood. Rap is better for those do nothing banks. I haven’t thrown a Rap a whole lot, we throw wiggle warts a lot here in Kansas. Guys catch a lot of fish in our lakes on wiggle warts in the spring here. Why I pick up a Wiggle Wart, rather than a Shad Rap: Heavier Can fish it well around cover Bigger line Dives deeper, but can fish it relatively shallow. If you get a wiggle wart, change out the stock hooks.
  7. No problem! The first time I threw the 75, I caught a ton of fish, but the plopper twisted my braid horribly. Put a swivel and a split ring on there, and it works perfect!
  8. Can’t go wrong with any green pumpkin, watermelon, maybe some white and black and blue.
  9. Awesome! I bet that was a ton of fun!
  10. Try this: line tie to Split ring to swivel IMO the bait is never out of the strike zone with a plopper. They seem to catch fish no matter what the size.
  11. Hold up... Where does a kidney exit your body?!?! ? I was thinking what’s the big deal, until I got to thinking a bit more...
  12. SO this is what really what happened with TackleWarehouse
  13. If I was using a medium heavy, I’d back my drag waaaayyy up. Jerkbait hooks aren’t very big, and can pull out if you’re not careful. The rod length is perfect! My jerkbait combo is a 6’10 medium, 7.1:1 reel, 10 pound FC.
  14. Anyone got water temps from the past couple weeks? Going out tomorrow, bringing along a frog. ?
  15. I throw swimbaits or twin tail style baits. I’ve had a lot more success with bootail swimbaits. I’ve caught countless fish on a white swim jig with a white swimbait on the back. If I’m fish shallower water, I’ll go with a twin tail or a swimbait. If I’m fishing deeper, I’m gonna go strictly with a swimbait.
  16. Straight FC on casting or Straight braid Spinning straight mono or Braid to Fluoro I was watching a Bassmaster video from ten years ago, and they were river fishing. The Bassmaster pro's were throwing 50-65 pound braid, to 20 pound fluoro, for spinnerbaits and jigs. 12-15 pound Fluoro should be perfect for for anywhere you’re wanting to fish bottom contact baits. 15 pound fluoro can fish T-rigs, jigs, spinnerbaits, chatterbaits and even squarebills. My jig rod and do it all Medium Heavy/fast both have 15 FC. IMO, the best line choice for bottom contact. If you’re using 3/4 ounce+ baits, I’d go 20 pound fluoro. If you’re fishing heavy, heavy grass and punching/frogging, I’d go 65 pound braid. If your fishing rock/wood/sparse grass I'd go straight 15 pound fluorocarbon.
  17. My parents went and saw it and said it was OK at best.
  18. Chiefs gave a spanking today!
  19. Good job! Cool looking fish!
  20. Congrats!
