It is a lot of fun, but I wouldn’t do it anywhere but private ponds or where fish are easy to catch. I feel like I’m at such a disadvantage when I do it. I find it incredible frustrating, and extremely rewarding when everything comes together. Also, if there is something for fly line to get caught on, it does. In the pic below, the fly line was wrapped around tree roots, rocks, chairs and two docks, just trying to get a picture and get the fish back in the water. I like hoppers, wooly buggers, and streamers. If you throw out a good sized hopper, the small bluegill will leave it, and the bass and big bluegill will get.

Cough, Gonna be 73 next week for us and 68 tomorrow, Cough If I lived in Michigan, I wouldn’t be at school in the winter, cause I would be making bank shoveling snow.

I like a TRD on the back of true finesse jigs. Caught a bunch fish doing this in the spring. Kinda like throwing a beefed up TRD. On ballhead finesse jigs I love a Yum Craw Chunk.

I want to do this so bad. Pretty much a dream hunt for me. I could probably do it in my bow. Predator calling looks like so much fun!

I'm not assuming they’re all junk, some Lew’s reels look pretty good. I just like my shimano stuff. Of course, some reels are lemons.

Nope, we don’t have moose. Our deer and squirrels like to run across the road way at the last second though.

I’m glad we don’t have those here. The coons somehow knock over our trash cans, and then are sure to make the biggest mess possible.

You must not have enough ketchup I’ve used my buddies Lew reels, they are all really loud and gear feeling. Don’t get me started on how loud the Lew’s spinning reels are. ? Shimano is where it’s at for me. At 15 years of age, the SLX’s and Chronarchs fit my hands perfect. I love Shimano! My cheap Shimano spinning reel gets it done! Never picked up a bad shimano reel, can’t say the same for lews. I’m sure you have a buddy with a Shimano reel, ask him if you can give it a try!
