Latest Catch Pics Thread
My first day out on the lake today water temp was 44* and the wind was around 12mph which is usually a no for me in the kayak but I just wanted to get out finally. Didn't get skunked but only got three, this was the first.

Nervous in a good way. tomorrow fishing.
Hey look we all got a raise, Gas prices are down. ? That's what some would like us to believe anyway. Good luck on your trip, you've got a nice no skunk streak going there.

Hobie Pro Angler Transportation Poll
No, definitely not that kind of kayak. If you're looking to drag a kayak down a gravel trail ( or any trail) with one hand and a rod in the other I would look in a different direction.

Hobie Pro Angler Transportation Poll
PA 14 fully rigged and heavy 176#(all gear) Trailer 99% of the time, I don't treat it like a kayak but rather a nimble bass boat that I comb the shore banks usually of reservoirs no larger than 1000acre. I have many boat launches within 20 miles and my 3 main within 5 miles. I couldn't imagine trying to load everything back and forth between truck bed and I'm only 57 yrs old. To me the PA series of kayaks are really fishing barges meant to be trailered to your favorite destination because they are meant to be rigged as a mini bass boat. But once out on the water they are an absolute pleasure to fish from in my fishing environment. Your experience may vary.

Your worst fishing habit
I’m right there with ya, and I’m probably fishing that same damned cove that someone else already mentioned….I have multiple issues

Hobie H-Rail questions
You get two rails(one on each side) I opted to buy the 21” rail as well and installed it across the kayak in front just before the front trunk, that’s where my electronics live. mines. Mines a PA 14 but the PA 12 has the same exact.

Night fishing during the Dog Days of Summer
I worked most of my career at night, I hated it, could never get the sleep during day thing down. I'll be damned if I'm going to be fishing or anything else other than sleep at night now that I'm retired. On the other hand I'll be awake and at the ramp before sunup any day of the week if ya wanting to join me.

Broiled Bass
That's the only thing that worked for me this AM. Water temp was 79*(not too hot by some but here it's pretty hot) at that was at crack of dawn. Anyway I couldn't get anything besides pan fish working the shore line( tried every type lure in my arsenal for a few hours and nothing). but today dragging a jig on one side and a heavy spinner on the other trolling very slowly along the drop off of the river trench through the reservoir was the only productive method for me.

Retirement.
I did pretty well, didn’t live above means and paid everything off. I retired last month at age 57, don’t miss it at all. my retirement gift to myself from myself was a fully tricked out, imo, Hobie PA 14

Wacky Worm

Upstate NY - Bass Fishing (Catskills)
I live in Sullivan County, just a few miles from reservoirs and of course the Upper Delaware. The water surface temp on Rio was 76.8* yesterday but I was still able to convince a good amount to take my offerings.

Wacky Worm
I was using this set up just yesterday with great results, never fished a wacky rig before..I'll give it some more tosses for sure.

What is your "old school" lure of choice?
Yep the Culprit worms were the one to use when I needed a bite, red shad color for me. I still use them often because these "old school lures still catch these new school fish. ?

What are you tossing in a pond "too small to hold fish?"
A ned rig will give you a good idea of the fish population in that small pond.

Contemplating a kayak
I'm not going to fool myself and say I need to cut down on weight, I trailer it for the most part and any chance I get to bling it out I do so, to heck with saying ' I carry too much tackle' my kayak is rated for 650#'s and I'll be damned if I don't reach it's full potential. ?
