  1. I have been super impressed with my Daiwa Rebellion Bass Spinning Rod 7' Med Lt, it super balanced, super light and super sensitive. It's a serious contender in the ML spinning world. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/catpage-DAIWAROD.html?from=basres
  2. I would prefer the extra casting distance as long as I am not sacrificing sensitivity. I'm going with the 7'2, thanks for the replies.
  3. Interesting, im definitely looking for the "more direct feel" I'm starting to lean towards the 6'10. And sometimes that extra handle is overkill. Another reason to go with the shorter rod.
  4. I'm going to order the Expride B spinning rod in ML, I am debating between the the 6'10 or the 7'2. I primarily fish out of a 14ft jonboat, I stand 6'1 about 160lbs, and I'm going to be using it for finesse , primarily neko rigs, drop shots, maybe 1/4oz blades. I know a longer rod gives a little more distance, the rod ratings are exactly the same other than length. Is there any advantages to going with the 6'10 over the 7'2? Interested in opinions.
  5. When I was a teenager , back in the early 1990s, I use to have a few Berkley series one rods, they were excellent rods, very light, crisp and super sensitive. I think pure fishing is ruining many brands by focusing more on marketing rather than quality.
  6. You are correct, I got caught up in JDM and USDM gearing differences without realizing they were specifically referring to the Zillion.
  7. On the Shimano Japan site it states the Metanium has "Furthermore, while maintaining its light weight and weight, it is equipped with an ultra-high-strength brass drive gear to improve its toughness." ( had to use google translate) I have some JDM Bantams that I use for heavy punching , I think they have brass gears as well, or I would of stripped them a while ago. https://fish.shimano.com/ja-JP/product/reel/baitlurecasting/a075f00002xcbu7qac.html
  8. I've been happy with these, I really like the elastic band to keep the sleeve snug. https://www.linecutterz.com/collections/rod-shields/products/line-cutterz-edition-trc-rod-covers-w-strap-foam-tip
  9. Over the past year I have had a great deal of success with the neko rig. I've been using a 7ft ML zodias paired with vanford 2500 fishing primarily 3/16 and 1/4oz neko rigs in water ranging from 10ft -40ft deep in clear reservoirs targeting smallmouth. I absolutely love the combo, it's sensitive and smooth. I'm looking to improve on my zodias vanford combo, I picked up a vanquish c3000MHG and I need rod to pair it with, I am considering the 7'2 ML expride B and the Megabass 6'11 Orochi whipsnake, which should I choose and why, or should I consider a different spinning rod.I rather not spend more than $400. Thanks in advance for input/feedback.
  10. I have been very happy with these https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Frenzy_Baits_Wacky_Saddle_Replacement_O-Rings_25pk_/descpage-WACORG.html
  11. 2020 Met, to me, it does everything well.If I were going back in time, I am extremely fond of my scorpion 1001XT and I wish I picked up a core 51mg7.
  12. It's always a good thing when BR members can help each other out.
  13. Is the 70 a smaller frame size? making it easier to palm. I'm primarily a Shimano guy, so I don't know the ins and outs of Daiwa.
  14. The Rebellion 7ft ML spinning is an outstanding finesse rod, I have no issues with locking nut being on the bottom, I highly recommend it.
  15. I have 2 world minnows on the way. I'm excited to try them.
  16. I have become a little obsessed with Neko and Shakey heads over the past 2 years, more so Neko. I have a used Dobyns Sierra 702SF & Champion 702 SF, Abu Vendetta 7' M , Shimano Intenza 7'ML and a Major Craft MS-1 7'ML/Nanoace 7'M for heavier shaky head and neko rigs (1/4-1/2oz) in depths ranging from 20-45ft. I was able to feel the different contours of the bottom and subtle taps with the MS-1 and even my Nanoace over the other rods. I also have a Zodias 7ft ML, now that rod has better sensitivity for finesse bottom fishing out all the previous rods mentioned. I pre ordered the new Expride B 7'2 ML and hoping for even better performance in regards to sensitivity for finesse fishing.
  17. I really like my Major craft rods, I find them to be an incredible value and very sensitive.
  18. I am a neko rig fanatic, I picked up the 7ft M Zenon thinking it would be amazing, and it simply does not have the sensitivity that My Zodias does, I have a Daiwa Rebellion and a Phenix M1 which are superior to the Zenon in terms of sensitivity. Maybe the Zenon ML tells a different story, but at this point i'm done with Abu rods. I'm definitely interested in trying out the Okuma Psycho Stick , I just need to find a retailer near me where I can hold one, or if tackle warehouse has a sale on them , I may bite the bullet and hope for the best.
  19. I'm very impressed with my Zodais 7ft ML spinning rod in regards to sensitivity, I picked up a $400 Abu Zenon spinning rod, I winded up selling it for a loss because the Zodias wiped the floor with it for half the price.
  20. I was under the impression the Champ CB (non glass) was 100% graphite.
  21. Major Craft, Nanoace and MS-1 are top notch in my book.
  22. I have a Tournament MB 5:6:1 for cranking, it's super comfortable to grip, smooth and quiet. Overall a great reel, I would definitely pick up another one.
  23. SproDD79 replied to gim's topic in Fishing Tackle
I ordered a reel from them once, it never came, no one responds to inquiries. Paypal gave me my money back.
  24. You can definitely get the Champion at a 20-30% discount if you wait for a sale, many retaliers offer them at a discount throughout the year, maybe presidents day will have some deals available. The expride will be difficult to get at a discounted price.
