Anyone use the missle baits quiver worm??
I've got 3 packs but cant say I've given them a fair shake yet. I was thinking of throwing them on something like a shaky head or a stand up type head. Goal would be to get that tail up in the air to do its thing on a dead stick.

My jerkbaits are saved!
this would add extra rattle...win win.

do you carry a pocket knife daily?
Yes, its mostly used to cut boxes, envelopes and straws but on occasion it's been used for just about any task you can think of. I've been partial to Kershaw spring assist flippers but my buddy gave me a decent Spyderco knife. He designed and made magnetic holders for them for their sharpening jigs. He also got a new laser engraver so while the knife was free, the phrase he put on it does not allow me to carry it at work. I'd have a nice meeting with HR.

Wind watching question
I start looking a few days before I am going to fish but more so for storms and cloud cover. I'll typically just adapt the night before or morning/day of depending on what its doing. After reading how closely you all follow it though I feel maybe I should be looking into it more lol.

down to my last four wacky hooks.
It was an eye opening experience. EDIT: To stay on topic, looks a lot like the Berkly Fusion 19 hooks. What material did you use for the weedless part?

You ever shop for baby products? Makes fishing items seem like they are on blowout pricing.

anti-seasick tips?
Its weird but I used the anti seasick bands that are little cuffs of elastic with a white ball that are supposed to go just below your wrists. I've always been good until I did a few offshore fishing charters with my uncle and was miserable on the first one. Second one I had those bands and was fine all day and as a test I took them off on the ride home and got horribly sick. Third charter I kept them on the whole time with no issue. YMMV

$50 spinning rod?
All good guys. I've seen it recommended elsewhere tons of times and it was my first choice until he made that comment. If anything it just makes me want to pick one up for myself lol.

$50 spinning rod?
The early lightning rods were great. Had one and used it for frogs eventually until it snapped.

$50 spinning rod?
Appreciate all of the responses so far. Hank Parker 13 Fishing Defy Ark Catalyzer 2.0 Falcon Altrax Arix-X was actually first on my list but we saw one in a store not long ago and he said he really didnt like the reel seat. Going to check out the Lews and Falcon in my travels around town since they show in stock and if I decide to pass on them i'll probably get him the 13 Fishing to try out the brand.

I am so done with the Bait Monkey.
Let me see what I have sitting around. Maybe I'll send one up your way. EDIT: @Jar11591 I think I use the 3.25" versions. Doesnt matter time of day or cloud cover, it really draws them up north.

@Swamp Girl I'm surprised too. When I lived in NY the chug bug was nearly all I used for top surface. Down here in NC they just hit the walking baits much better. I still have about 5 chug bugs but I'll take a walking bait over it 9/10.

Not sure which kayak to get. Thoughts
Going to be that guy and throw another into your consideration. Look at the Wilderness Systems Recon 120HD. I owned the non HD model and it is an incredibly stable and dry boat. The biggest plus in my book is their rod storage. I hate storing rods vertical and the horizontal storage on the Recon worked great and allowed me to carry 6-8 rods comfortably. The chair was also very comfortable. Was a bit big to paddle all the time but it would be nice in the pedal verson...I was cheap and paid for it.

I am so done with the Bait Monkey.
I go through "growth spurts" with my tackle. When I got back into it when I got my house I was buying A LOT and covered a lot of different techniques. Over the recent years I've found things I enjoy fishing and techniques I'm good at. Once I find a technique that hits both I'll dive in deep and I'm OK with it because I use it all. My issue now is the accumulation of the early years when I was searching for things I liked but yet dont want to get rid of in case I take a trip somewhere I'll need it. Things I've dove into deep Jerkbaits Swim Jigs Chatterbaits Spinnerbaits Frogs Walking Baits Things That fell to the wayside Drop shot Ned Rig Crankbaits Berkley Gilly Whopper Plopper All full setups and some small "collections" of each that I now rarely if ever use. I've slowly given some stuff away when I find someone getting into it I like.

BACKING ON BAITCASTING REEL
Only thing I dont use backing for is mono. Everything else gets big game backing from 10-12lbs, whatever I have most of at the time.

Pond Observations
A clean pond/lake with healthy vegetation is one of my favorite sights. I envy what you have in your backyard, I'd have a hammock out there and likely come in for very little. Looking real nice Bob.

$50 spinning rod?
Got a 5 day fishing trip planned the week after fathers day and I'm looking to get my dad a mild upgrade for his spinning rod. He's currently using a $20 Walmart special that has to be at least 10 years old and the cork is falling apart. -Spinning rod only -Cork over foam (foam still OK if rod is worth it) -Prefers short (6'6" to no more than 7' with like 6'9" ideal) -Throws mostly plastics but occasionally will throw something top surface up to 5/8oz -Looking to keep it $50 +/- $10 -Bonus points if its from Tacklewarehouse since I need to get other stuff from them. -(he does not like the reel seat of the Arid X) Two rods I'm eyeing: *** Defy Gold 6'9" M/F ARK Catalyzer 2.0 6'6" M/F Any other recommendations or feedback between the two rods? I'm kind of leaning towards the ARK for the 36T blank vs 24T.

The official "Who's drinking tonight?" thread
I know it's mother's day weekend but...we went to get stuff for mohitos and they had a brand new delivery of whiskey when we showed up. Bookers is fantastic. first time having it but it's in my top 4 now. Thankfully that one comes home with me.
- Jordan, Falls or Harris?

Fess up!
I believe I said this the first week my daughter was born. I dont care who's feelings get hurt or who is mad at me or how well we "know" the other family.

Why do you hate bed fishing?
I did it a handful of times, targeted bedding bass and I just didnt have fun. I'll still fish and if I catch em trying to find active non spawning bass so be it. I agree though that tournaments that drag them miles away from their beds should be avoided. If I catch im dropping them right back into the water and the next day I've seen them back on beds.
