Lew’s LFS Weird TW Packaging
I recently orderd 2 of the same reels in 2 different orders, and both came in the same way, just a reel in a box. Both work perfectly and certainly appeared to be brand new

Minimalist Fishing
I used to carry 2-4 rods around. Now I’m down to 1. 7’ MH fast. 14 lb mono. Small pack of EWG hooks, various wiegts and some bobber stops. A bag of mixed plastic. Rage tail , rage bug can be used topwater, mid water or bottom. My go to. I would agree that a ned rig on a spinning rod is always effective also.

Johnny Morris Carbonlite Baitcasting Reel Short Cast
I’ve got one, and zero issues with it . Like it a lot. I would assume you adjusted the tension knob. That’s actually all I ever use . I set magnets in middle and rarely ever touch it Oops, I see you figured it out!

T rig rod question
Can’t go wrong with ALX rods. Awesome customer service, and several different price points.

What was your least favorite combo?
Gotta agree with the quantum hyper cast, absolute junk.

Looking for some jig rod/texas rig rod recommendations as well as line.
Bass pro shops , pro qualifier 7 foot medium heavy , fast. I have more expensive rods, but this rod works nicely. Right at 100$ I use 14 pound mono on it, and have never felt it was too light of line. Then again , I’m in Wisconsin, and bass over 5-6 lbs are rare

O rings
Prefer to not use any ring. I use Yum dingers, and they are cheap. Just prefer the hook thru the bait.

How long do you leave the plastic on your cork?
I never understood why people leave the plastic on. To me it seems ridiculous. Why buy cork, then leave it covered with plastic??
-
Short rods - when do you use them?
Shortest I use is 6’ 8”. used to be a 6’ 6” was long? I think the shorter rods little more accurate for short casting around docks and such

Broken rod tip
I’ve never liked just a new tip. The action of the rod is very much changed. I donate it to a kid or friend that don’t care

Braid to fluorocarbon leader
Double uni, beyond my first couple attempts, probably screwing it up, I’ve never had an issue. I use Mono leader, never seen the advantage of floro . When I break off it’s almost always at the knot at the bait or hook. It’s a solid knot, been around forever. Works great for me.

Gold lipless- any fans?
I was just going thru my lipless boxes and donating some to my son, and have several in gold. Don’t think I’ve ever thrown them much. Any good? What conditions?

How many people on here does this apply to?
No Facebook for me

Switch from right to left hand reels?
I grew up reeling baitcaster with my right hand, spinning rods with left hand , but always casting right handed. Switching hands with baitcaster after cast has never been a big deal. But it just seems to make sense to reel both the same way. I did this year get pretty good at left handed casting due to a wrist injury. But casting right handed is way more natural. I guess im just gonna get a lefty and see how I like it.

Switch from right to left hand reels?
Thinking about it, I can cast either way. But have always used right handed baitcaster. I reel with left hand on spinning rods. I think it makes sense to use left hand baitcaster as well. What do I do with the dozen right handlers I have? Sell ? Or just use both?

Rapala shad rap
What’s anyone’s experience with this bait? I’ve seen a couple videos of some pro fishermen talking these up as great cold water baits . I have many from my walleye fishing days. Gotta be a spinning rod bait, I would think. Super light.

Alx enox
The enox, and I believe all the top series of ALX rods are also 100% American made.

Alx enox
It’s great to deal directly with the owner of the company with any issues. I broke one of mine , thru my own fault, took a fall. I had a replacement within a week for half price. Also had a question about a different rod, and talked directly to Alex about it, and got excellent answers on first phone call.
