Welcome to the board. How is your trolling motor mounted? It looks like it is offset to the side of your front deck. Mike D
  10. Thanks for all the answers. So far I have either heard of or found the following guides that have caught my interest: - Steve Daniels - Steve McDonald - John Miller (Thank you dinky) - Mark King - Kevin Long Anyone with first hand experience with any of the above mentioned guides? Thank you Mike D
  11. Hey I am in need of some information regarding Lake Okeechobee please. I know many of you have either fished this body of water previously or are local in the area and fish it regularly. My wife and I recently purchased a time share about 45 min south west of the lake and this year I am planning of renting a charter and going out for the day. My question is – how is the Bass fishing in early November (we own the week November 3 to 10)? Can anybody recommend me a good charter? I have found several in the area but it seems as though a lot of the local guides guide through the Roland Martin marina. I am just looking for some feedback on a good bass guide to take me and my wife out for the day. I have also seen prices between $350 all the way up to $500 for a single day. Is paying $500 going to get me a better guide or better service or will a $350 guide be able to do the same? I know this is a subjective question so anybody out there with some firs hand info on Okeechobee guides please let me know. As always any responses are much appreciated. Thanks Mike D
  12. Nice buy, What are the details of the new rig? Mike d
  13. I tend to use anywhere between 7 to 10 combos per outing (on a boat), and if I am shore fishing 3 to 3. Here is what I normally use to make my rotation out of: Shimano Cumara CUCX711MH 1/2 1 1/2 Soft Swimbait Team Daiwa Fuego Dobyn's Extreme DX795 Flip Flip/Punch Team Daiwa Zillion 100SHA Dobyn's Champion Casting 736 3/8 2 Frog Abu Garcia Revo Premier 7:1 Dobyn's Extreme DX745C Pitching Stick / Jig Pflueger Patriarch XT St. Croix Legend Elite 7'0' MH F 3/8 1 Texas Rig Pflueger Patriarch XT St. Croix Legend Elite 7'0' M F 1/4 5/8 Texas Rig Pflueger Patriarch XT Shimano Cumulus 7'1' MH XF 1/4 3/4 Senko Shimano Curado 100D Shimano Cumara 6'8' MH F 1/4 3/4 Soft Jerkbait Audrey/Pflueger Patriarch XT Dobyns Extreme 743 3/16 5/8 Tubes Pflueger Patriarch 9535 St. Croix Avid 6'8' M XF 3/16 5/8 Wacky rig Senko Shimano Sustain 2500FE I have 2 crankbait rods, but just like the OP I almost never throw a crankbait. 14. Roboworm hands down! Mike D
  15. Great choice. I have the CI4 in 2500 size as well as the 9530, and 9535 of the patriarch, and the patriarchs are better IMHO. The fact that the body is made out of a real metal (magnesium) as opposed to the CI4 which is whatever shimano decided to put together to make this new material... Mike D
  16. Great choice, you will love the combo. I liked the spinning version so much I bought the exact same rod in the Avid casting model. Now i want to get the elite or extreme version of the same spinning rod... mike D
  17. I can't wait to see what they have available. Mike D
  18. I Like. Can they be used as a swimbaits as well??? Mike D
  19. older model garmin. i think it's a nuvi 360. mike d
  20. 7 for jigs and texas rigs. mike d
  21. x zone slammers and roboworms mainly produce for me. mike d
  22. Your gonna love it, I know I sure do. mike D
  23. Not to sure what amount you are looking to spend, or what your interpretation of a ''quality rod'' is, but to me some of the very best 2 piece rods are made by St. Croix. The legend elite lineup has plenty of really nice 2 piece spinning rods. As for casting it is very hard to find a nice casting rod in the $200 plus price point that is 2 pieces at the same time.
