  1. I am going for number one, due to the parabolic bend of the rods. Mike
  2. Way to many too list... I personally like the chigger craw and pit boss from berkley. Mike D
  3. Great catch, any luck after the big one? Mike D
  4. Tough call... I'd have to say it's a toss up between either my 7 foot M or MH St.Croix Elite casting rods. Both are amazing multipurpose rods. However I did recently buy a 7'1' MH shimano cumulus rod, haven't fished it yet so I cannot compare, but I presume it will equally great. Mike D
  5. Best freakin news ever!!! Does anyone know if it can be accessed by Canadians? I would love to test it out myself but am on vacation out of the country for another week, I could wait to get home but would rather know before hand (give me something to look forward to after vacation). Thanks Mike D
  6. A big old 0!!! Sucks for me as bass season only opens in about 2 months. Last Saturday in June to be exact. But once open it's game time! Mike D
  7. That's what I did! Bought both the M and MH 7 footer in the elite series as I prefer them cosmetically. Mike D
  8. By far not the most popular choice but I would have to choose the Pflueger Patriarch XT. This reels has gone so far above expectation it still surprises me. I have always been a shimano guy, but after using the Patriarch I am convinced that Pflueger is definitely capable of making products that either compete with the bigger names or even surpasses the mainstream stuff. Mike D
  9. Based on your price range, I believe the best bang for your buck to be the pflueger patriarch 9530 (perfect size for any bass). I own the 9535, 9530, and several shimano reels (3 generations of stradics including the CI4 and the sustain FE). If however you are fishing brackish waters that is. in salt environments I'd go with a stradic (doesn't matter really which one) Mike D
  10. WOW... Amazing day indeed!!!
  11. This summer it will surely be jig fishing... Mike D
  12. The 2 that I use and have the most success with aren't hollow belly but are small plastic swimbaits. My go to baits are the reaction innovations skinny dipper and the gambler flapping shad. mike D
  13. I normally carry 2 all purpose rods when I go out fishing. For me I would look at the st.croix avid in either the 7 foot M or MH. Both are great all around rods plus by taking the avid you gain a lifetime warranty. Mike D
  14. Great choices. I have the same rod in the Avid and Legend Elite line up and it is an awesome all purpose rod. And the STX is IMO a much better reel then the SX. You will love the dual breaking system. I have a Premier 2010 model and it casts a mile... mike D
  15. Yes it is worth it. Mike D
  16. MH is what you should be looking at IMO. Mike D
  17. that is a possibility but i prefer to make sure the fish has the hook in mouth before i swing. I know hooksets are free and limitless, but i haven't had any issues reeling down and feeling weight before i set the hook. Most of the time i am using some sort of soft plastic and fish tend to hold onto those baits a little bit longer. Mike D
  18. I reel down and feel for the weight of the fish, if I feel weight I set the hook, no weight no hook set. That's just me though. Mike D
  19. Thanks, I checked the website and they only have one retailer in Canada, and it is pretty much across the country from where I am... Looks like online is the way to go. Mike D
  20. Does anyone know where I can find U40 sealer in Canada? Whet type of store carries his product? Thanks Mike D
  21. Casting or spinning??? Mike D
