  2. Casting: Pflueger Patriarch XT Spinning: Pflueger Patriarch Mike D
  3. X 2 I have 2 Patriarch, 1 CI4 and 1 sustain FE. Out of the bunch i like the Patriarch the most. Just my 2 cents. Mike D
  4. Thanks for the replies already - but one more question. How would the 7'7' H Punch rod compare to the St. Croix 7'11' HMF Big Gulp rod? Thanks
  5. Hey Bassresource Do any of you have any experience/review of the 2 new Shimano Cumara jig rods? I am looking at the 7'4' Heavy Jig rod and the 7'7' H Punch rod. Any feedback on these 2 specific rods would be much appreciated. Thanks Mike D
  6. Hey Rusty What weight lures are you attempting to throw? I have an Abu Garcia 6’9’ ML MF spinning rod that is great for light small crankbaits. It is rated from 1/8 to ½. The tip is definitely moderate and handles crankbaits very well. Another option could be the shimano crucial 6’8’ MXF drop shot rod as well. Even though it is rated as an extra fast tip it has a lot of give to it and feels more like a moderate action to me. Mike D
  7. Hey I got an answer from AG for you, the Vendetta uses Pac Bay guides with Oxide Inserts. Mike D
  8. Both the Vendetta and Veritas use 30 ton graphite blanks. The main difference is the Veritas blank is coated with Abu Garcia's Nano Technology. From the abu garica website: "Nano Technology provides 2.5 times the impact resistance of standard graphite rods through the manipulation of graphite on an atomic level. This prevents microscopic nicks and dings that cause other rods to snap. Now you can count on your rod to stay intact when that all important fish is on the line" Another thing to mention is when the Vendettas came out the guides on them were Pac Bay DPL TiCH Frame and now on the AG website the guides are listed as Pac Bay guides with SiC inserts. I'm not sure if this a typo or AG actually changed the guides used for the vndetta rod line up??? That one you'll have to contact AG directly for an answer. Mike D
  9. For a good rod around $100 would be an Abu Veritas or a Fenwick HMG, both are great rods for money. Mike D
  10. A good punching setup would be a st. croix LTB or Extreme 7'11' HMF, with a revo premier 7.1:1. Or if you don't want to spend that much money, you can go with the same rod in the Mojo Line up with a Revo S. Mike D
  11. Hey midnighthrasher, why don't you order football head jigs from Mark Currie??? I just placed an order for 100 of his own hand puored jig heads last weekend in Lachine. I'm picking them this Saturday in D.D.O. Mike D
  12. I really don't see the reason for bumping up the price to $400 and not even reducing the weight. I cant seem to find any reason for the price increase. other then the beefed up drag, carbon handle and the added bearings what else was upgraded to warrant such a increase???
  13. I've never used a powell rod before but one of my friends is a field staffer for Dobyn's and i've tried several of his champion rods. i'm pretty much blown away by the balance and outright crisp feeling of the champion series rods. i would not hesitate to spend that kind of money for those rods. mike
  14. Go with the Avid. I have 3 and love them all. Haven't used a loomis so I can't really make a fair comparison. Just my 2 cents. Mike D
  15. For hollow bodied frogs I'm currently using a 7' 4' light N tough frog rod with a shimano citica 200E. For this coming season I will be throwing the hollow bodied frogs on a dobyns 736 with a curado E7. And for soft plastic frogs I use a 7' MH avid with a fast tip. Mike D
  16. going to try and break my PB LMB of 5lbs 14 oz. Moved to ottawa Ontario thin month and will shoot for a 6lbs 14 oz.

  19. Okay so heres the situation: I live in Montreal Canada and am a HUGE bass fishing enthusiast and i want notthing more then to be able to watch the classic. Does anyone know if this will be offered as a pay per view event or maybee streamed live on the internet? How can I watch the event? Please help! Mike D
  20. tough question but having 100 lmb in the 2-6 pound range would do it for me. had the 100 fish been 1 pounders I would opt for the 14 pounder.
  21. awsome video!!!!!!
  22. Hooked_On_Bass Your probaly right, shipping to canada might not be free. I have never actually had anything from TW delivered right to me in montreal. I learnt my lesson with bass pro and cabelas, After I saw my CC statement I said no more shipping accross the boarder. All my TW orders go straight to NY. But midnighthrasher's idea works well to. The only thing about having a PO box in the US is that if you only go down for the day you have to declare and pay taxes on whatever you bring back accrosss the boarder. Mike
