My 7 foot MH Avid has been moved to a camping rig (to make space for my elite, same model). I use mine for soft jerk baits, spinner baits, and t-rigs. Mike D

I have a bunch of options, but so far I have not decided which rod I will use for my jig fishing... Here is what I have to select from: Dobyns Extreme DX795 Dobyns Extreme DX745 Shimano Cumara CUC-X72MH Daiwa Zillion 7MHF St.Croix Legend Elite 70MHF All can be used as a jig rod at the drop of a hat. Just haven't decided which one I will be using exclusively for jigs, yet... Mike D

I'd have to go with my St. Croix Legend Elite 7 MHF paired with a pflueger patriarch XT casting reel. They really feel like they were made for each other. Mike D

I currently have 2 designated cranking rods. For small to medium weight and shallow to mid depth i use the previous version of the shimano crucial TC4 cranking rod. It's the 7 foot Med Mod cork handle rod. And for larger, heavier deeper divers i use the 7 foot Heavy Mod fast Cumara Reaction series.. Mike D

I have the 736 but I use it as my dedicated hollow body frog rod. You could use it to punch (as it has enough backbone to muscle the fish out) but I do not like the tip on the rod for that technique. But that is just my preference. The extra fast tip is great for walking frogs over mats but might give you some trouble when trying to punch an ounce or an ounce and a half bait through a thick mat. I don't own any Lew's so I cannot make a comparrison, but I do own 4 Patriarch XT's and like them more then any other of my reels (including daiwa zillion, fuego, sol, shimano curado 100D, 200E, and even a chronarch 50MG). With that said I plan on buying 2 Patriarchs in the near future as I want a couple of reels with a little more weight to them and honestly a reel that weighs 8. something ounces is not too heavy to fish all day... For me the reel would have to be the 2003 TD-ito 103M (Megabass/Daiwa) paired with the Steez Complie-X 7'1 H casting rod. If I knew more about JDM rods I would probably go that route, but for now I'd choose the compile X. Mike D

Haven't used the gammys but the picassos are amazing. Super sharp hook and I really like the spring on the head. The spring really makes rigging the worm real easy. Another option that I really like is the owner shakey heads with the twist lock spring. Hope this helps. Mike D

Right now my small swimbait rod is the shimano cumara 7'11' MH extra fast action (CUCX711MH). To be honest though i have not yet had the chance to use it as all the water in Quebec Canada is frozen solid. However I did read some very positive remarkd on this rod, which is what prmpted me to pick it up. Mike D
