  1. That wouldn't be anything out of the ordinary here in my neck of the woods. I passed a lifted 70's vega rollin on a set of 44" boggers yesterday. I love it here in Carrolltucky. 😉
  2. The Ohio River would be locked up solid if it weren't for the barge traffic.
  3. I could get by quite happily with a flippin stick and a heavy moderate moving bait rod. Beaver, worm, bladed jig, spinnerbait, swim jig.
  4. No senior moments at auctions, but I've had plenty elsewhere. 😂 Congrats on the boat!!!
  5. I don't know about average Joe's, but I've heard the legend of 'Ol Crickety, Aka The Swamp Girl. Legend has it, she's a way above average Jane in Maine that regularly catches 20# sacks before breakfast, and she only uses three lures to do it. Seems impossible, but the locals swear it's true.
  6. Booyah baby boo jig.
  7. Nonsense, there's nothing between my ears but about 8" of air space. Shine a flashlight in one ear, it'll shine right out the other. 😂
  8. 8 speed is my pick for this scenario. It's also my speed of choice for all bottom contact baits.
  9. Sorry, no experience with the vest, but I have their Trekker coat and bibs, and they are excellent quality, and very warm without being bulky.
  10. The only one I've messed with is open G. DGDGBD Hello George and Keef!!! 😂 Thanks Katie. I do seem to have a knack for that.
  11. Nice @Blue Raider Bob. My musical tastes are all over the place. It's mood dependant. I think mostly, I just appreciate talent when I hear it. Personally, I'm a hack of a guitar player, but I have fun with it.
  12. @NorthernBasser, we love you too brother. You'll be in my prayers every day.
  13. I was out working in -14 this morning. I had The Rodeo Song stuck in my head all morning. 😂
  14. Les Paul into a cranked bassman hooked to a 2x12 cab for a couple hours the other morning. Pretty sure my neighbors are wishin I could go fishin. 😂 I generally just roll with the tweed Vibroluxe or Champ these days, but sometimes I just gotta crank up one of the big amps and get my pants flappin!!!😉
  15. I like your ride Rock hopper. "Survivors" like that are RARE here in the rust belt.
  16. I consider 5# big, and my best year, I had 5 over 5# and one over 6#, so the percentage of big fish is a single digit number. I only know with muskie because I register my catches on the ODNR lunge log, to help them with their data, which in turn helps the stocking program. Last year roughly 20% of my muskie were what the ODNR calls "huskies", 42" or larger.
  17. That's a keeper for the Amish.
  18. @Big Hands, I'd have left those old tires. I've caught a bunch of LM off of them over the years. For some reason, they really seem to like them. If the bottom substrate is right they'll spawn in them.
  19. Most don't hurt for long, it's part of the game, but there are a handful of super sized LM, SM, saugeye, and muskie that still haunt my memories. I'm mostly just grateful to The Lord for all those experiences. Half a century in the woods and on the water. Hopefully I'll be blessed with a few more decades. 😉
  20. That's what I'm talking about @Swamp Girl!!! 😂 I can get down to 200# easy enough, I'm just not willing to put in the effort to maintain it. Staying at 210# is a piece of cake 🎂 literally!!!
  21. Nah. 6'/210#. Could stand to lose about 10#, but that takes hard work and discipline. This weight is easy to maintain and allows for moderate consumption of bacon and donuts.😂
  22. I don't chase bass when those winter winds blow, but these big girls are another story. We're a couple weeks into the deep freeze here in OH. Saw lots of ice fisherman out yesterday. The extended forecast looks like this pattern is gonna hold for a while. We're getting a real winter here this year. I'm hoping to be on the water by mid March.🤞
  23. I bought some of those generic trebles on eBay. They look like they were welded by a toddler. Mustad and VMC both offer quality hooks for not much money.
  24. I wouldn't recommend buying rods from them, but I've never had an issue with reels. I got a fantastic deal on a couple Daiwa Lexa HD's last winter. They were brand new, in sealed boxes.
