  1. Sounds like fun. Was that retention pond near some apartments or something? I used to tear em' up at a similar type place in Lk, Fl. Just an old retention pond and I caught them up to 8 lb out of there and one guy supposedly caught a 12 lb Bass out of there. It was probably 2-3 acres and was really deep with clear water with a dark tint/tea stained. The Bass were beautiful! They were almost black.

Very nice SMB! I'd love to catch one like that. I just can't seem to find any here in Central Florida!
  3. One more thing... I thought all they had down in Sarasota was Large Mouth Snook?
  4. Ok, I'll be over in about 5 yrs! I want to give her some time to grow up! ;D
  5. Dude, I used dial up when I was in N.C. a few months back. I swore I'd give up the internet if that's all I had! I guess high speed cable can spoil you! Maybe the connection was even worse since I was way up in the mountains in the middle of no where? :-?
  6. Big fish for sure, but doesn't look anything like a world record to me. I hooked a Bass in a old private phosphate pit on a Zara Spook one time that looked like a 20+ lb Bass, but I won't say that she was. All I know is that she was a lot bigger than my 13.1 Bass that I caught a few years back. Every time I think about losing that fish it makes me wanna :'(
  7. Wow! What pretty looking place. What state? Congrats on the nice Bass!
  8. No offense here. BTW, did you have it mounted?
  9. Nice Bass!

    Welcome!
  11. I agree. I've caught some nice Bass off of a Johnson spoon with a pork trailer. I used to use those for pads and grass back in the early mid 80's.
  12. Welcome aboard. I started Bass fishing at the ripe old age of 13 myself. I would have loved to find a place like this back then, but unfortunately, there was no internet! Just out of curiosity... how old are you? I had my daughter catching Bass on plastic t-rigged worms by the age of 4 by herself! She's almost 14 now and still likes to go Bass fishing with me from time to time. It's a good thing to start out fishing while you're still just a kid! 8-)

  15. Man, I feel like a sucker now for looking! :-/ J/K
  16. Check out mudhole. They have a website, but I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post it here??? They are located in central Fl. Another good place is Custom Tackle. They also have a website and they are out of Tenn. Both are very helpful if you have questions and can guide you in the right direction. Another place you should check out would be the rod builders guild. They also have a website. Just do a search. They have a forum and are very knowledgeable.
  17. Man, that would suck! I keep mine in the front yard all covered up. I can't imagine not having my boat with me.
  18. Nice Bass! I too have caught some really nice Bass on hot summer days.
