Chatterbaits
I use dockside matrix shad lures as trailers. They're made for saltwater fish, so they're tough and don't get torn up as easily, and the colors are awesome.

Spincast question #2
I have a Diawa Gold Cast that is at *least* 30-34 years old..probably much older than that...and runs like a clock. It was my grandpa's, who died when I was 16. I have a Silver Cast as well. Reel maintenance is everything if you want your equipment to last.

Bank fishing version of AITAH
Isn't that true of anyone? There's a few people here I'm not particularly fond of because I think of them as pretentious a-holes, and Im sure it's mutual lol

Bank fishing version of AITAH
Lol nice try. Since I'm not the only person who thinks this, as several people who were here apparently since the beginning have recently posted similar things. I appreciate all the genuine comments from earlier in the thread before the trolls found it.

Bank fishing version of AITAH
No it was a genuine ask.... I wanted honest opinions though, not comments from people simply trying to be ********. This site is becoming toxic.

Pit Boss vs bandito bug

Bank fishing version of AITAH
Seems a lot of people missed two key details: 1. I waved at him twice, THEN said "What are you doing?" as he paddled through the spot I was fishing. 2. I didn't confront him. He confronted ME. I was putting my rod in the car when he walked up.

Bank fishing version of AITAH
Um...you just don't pull your gun. Well it's true though. I was putting my rod in the car...he walked up to ME. My attitude in general is one of...I'll give you a few chances. I'm nice at first...then I'll try and de-escalate...then I'll warn you (usually a few times)...then I'm down to get physical if they won't let it go.

Pounding the banks pays off.
DeiZel minnow in sexy shad rigged on a 1/8th oz belly weighted hook. I've been tearing them up on it.

What's your pedal kayak cruising speed?
About 3mph in my pelican Catch 110 hydryve 2. If I adjust the pedals for a shorter stroke, it's about 2.5mph, but almost zero effort. If I adjust em closer to me, I can draw a wake with moderate effort, and if I go all out, it's pretty darn quick. However, I didn't buy it for speed. I bought it bc it's less than half the price of a Hobie, about 20lb lighter, and has deeper sides. I stand and fish in it all day.

Pounding the banks pays off.
Right now where I am, it's the primetime bream spawn. That's what the bass are eating....and the bream are in the shallows. Bank fishing can be more productive than from a kayak or boat right now.

Eventually it has to end…
Hell yeah man!! Enjoy the memories you made...you DESERVE it! Awesome job!!!

Sweet beaver as a jig trailer
Try a pit boss instead. Same basic shape...thicker body. I use sweet beaver lures a lot, and have the same "complaint"...that thin part in the middle tears pretty easily. Still gonna use em bc they catch fish lol

Bank fishing version of AITAH
I'm from south Louisiana. Firearms are as much a cultural thing here as a legal one. My ancestors were subsistence hunters, etc. I moved to the area I am now about 10 years ago. Where I grew up, there's hadn't been a single shooting since the late 1800's until the 1990s lol. Baton Rouge is turning into New Orleans the 2nd. I've unholstered my Walther six times in the last 5 years, and pointed it at someone twice with the intention to fire unless the person immediately stopped. First guy was attempting to rob me at a gas station. Second was trying mug me and had a Phillips screwdriver as a weapon. I'd NEVER even consider a firearm as an option for a mere argument or even a fist fight lol...but then again, I'm not a kid, and I'm fairly tough for 45 year old guy lol

Bank fishing version of AITAH
I posted this mainly bc it was my second confrontation at this spot in two weeks. The first one is on video, and even the guy's own coworkers were in the background saying things like "dude..what's your problem?!" And "He didn't do anything, we were just talking until you came up and threatened him out of thin air" to him. Admittedly, I WAS clearly about to clean that guy's clock because he was acting like an angry drunk.or something and kept walking up to me until I took off my GoPro and told him if he walked up to me aggressively again, there would be no more warnings. He'd end up hurt. Badly. This kayak guy..just mouthed off until he approached me...then he got warned. I had no intention on furthering the conversation past me telling him he was kayaking through where I was fishing. I was putting my rod in my car to leave when he walked over to me and started. I mean....I honestly try to be nice to everyone. Hell, I give lures away to people if I see them struggling to catch. But two incidents with two hotheads in two weeks made me look at it and go "Could it be ME?" Or "Do people just think I look like a pushover or something" etc...so I figured I'd ask here for others' opinions.

New to bass fishing. Looking for lures to start with
I love those. I also like the 4" easy shiner in "crystal shiner". I use them as standalone swimbaits AND on an A-rig. The ONE issue with keitechs is that they're super fragile. Usually, theyre only good for one HIT....caught fish or not. If a bass hits them, they tend to get torn up on the first bite. That being said, even if they're a one and done bait, bass that are feefing on shad/bluegill/etc LOVE those things. They made of very soft plastic which makes the action super good.
